Cherokee Therapy 28: Problems with Aftermarket Jeep XJ Parts
WHen I first bought my Jeep, it needed a complete rebuild. Having never owned a lifted Jeep XJ before, I thought I could go with cheap aftermarket parts. BIG MISTAKE. In this video I go through all that I learned - the hard way - so that you don't have to.

Cherokee Therapy 27: Make Your XJ Quiet and New! (Part 2)
The noise in my XJ when driving is so bad that it sounds like I'm driving on top of a jet engine. I already put noico 80 mil sound dampener and a layer of foam on the roof, but in these 2 episodes I show you how to remove your seats and old carpet (part 1) and then how to install sound proofing and new carpet (part 2)! I mean heck: as long as your taking out everything you may as well put in new carpet (front section was only ~$190 with shipping)
New Front Carpet for XJs with Crossmembers - front half only: https://www.stockinteriors.com/autocarpet/6558
Second Skin Luxury Liner Pro (I used 6 of these): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAFWT3S?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
Noico 80 mil Sound Dampener (go with ~36 sq feet to fully cover floor, front and back): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KZ5X7KO?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Noico Roller: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015WJH4ZW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Also, in the video I mention that I previously had sound proofed my roof. I used noico dampener (listed above) and then a layer of this noico foam; no complaints! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TKXCN6F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cherokee Therapy 25: Level the Front End of Your Jeep XJ
A couple of years ago I installed a 3" Rough Country lift kit on my XJ, and the front end was noticeably lower than the rear. Then I added a winch bumper, which made it worse. Here's how you install leveling pucks with your front end coil springs.

Cherokee Therapy 23: Install a New Oil Pressure Sender Pig Tail (Troubleshooting Oil Pressure Probs)
I know my oil pressure is fine but all of a sudden my pressure gauge sits at 10 PSI and doesn't move. So I likely have a bad pigtail, a clogged sender, or a bad sender. In this episode I show you how to solder in a new pigtail.

Cherokee Therapy 21: Replace Timing Chain, Crank Seal, Harmonic Balancer, and Alternator (Part 2)
Last of a 2 part series: installing timing chain, sprockets, alternator and harmonic balancer. My XJ (4.0L, 4WD) had the original OEM timing chain in came with when it rolled off the assembly line in 2000. It wasn't showing any sign of problems, but I needed to replace my alternator + harmonic balancer and my front crank case seal was leaking so... I'm a BIG fan of replacing whatever you can if you have to take apart the front of the engine anyway for other jobs like seals/gaskets. Cherokee Therapy 20: EAG Winch Bumper with Bull Bar - Unboxing and Review
I needed a new bumper on my XJ and plan to install a winch, but I don't need it to be custom fabricated, high-end, and a billion dollars in cost. Enter EAG. This is a beefy winch bumper at a good pricepoint, with a lot of hardware included. Are the D-ring shackles the best? No. But those are things you can buy separately. Comes with nice fog light mounting points on the top of the bull bar or you can drill holes into the bumper itself. Great bumper; two thumbs up.

Cherokee Therapy 16: Rough Country 1.5 Inch Wheel Spacers. Easy Job. Will They Hold up?
The wife got me 4 Rough Country Wheel Spacers for Xmas (for my 2000 XJ) so this week I installed them. So far so good. Easy install. You may want to replace your rear wheel studs with slightly longer ones because my rear drum brakes made it so that the nuts holding on the wheel spacers only went on ~3/4 of the way. I think it's enough - with loctite - that it's safe, and a Rough Country rep assured me that this is the case. Still. It's Rough Country. Do yourself a favor and put in longer studs.

Cherokee Therapy 15: Death Wobble Returns, Part 3 (Re-Install Trackbar Bushings & new Control Arms)
I nearly wrecked my Jeep on a trip to the coast in SC. At 60 miles per hour I hit a bump in the road and it went into a violent death wobble that I barely got under control. At that point I bought a full set of high end parts for the front end and grit my teeth for a rebuild - to see what it was that was causing me to have reoccurring DW. Did I find it? Yes. In Part 3 I install new polyurethane bushings into my upper front axle, New polyurethane track bar bushings for my adjustable, forged Rough Country track bar, and new upper and lower tier 3 control arms from Core 4x4.
Here is a full list of the parts I bought (I'll place links to them in parts 2 and 3):
2 Spicer axle u-joints
2 Spicer Ball joints, upper
2 Spicer Ball joints, lower
2 SKF hub/bearing units
2 Rukse urethane bushings for axle-end of upper control arms: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0128R3T5U?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
2 Moog upper control arm bushings (I needed their steel shells for the Rukse bushings, above): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C542LG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
1 Moog urethane bushing for axle end of my Rough Country adjustable track bar: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C59XTC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
1 Iron Rock Off Road urethane bushing for the frame end of my Rough Country adjustable track bar: https://www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/track-bar-bushing.html
1 Iron Rock Off Road bolt sleeve: https://www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/12mm-track-bar-bolt-sleeve.html
2 Core 4x4 Tier 3 Upper and 2 Core 4x4 Tier 3 Lower Control Arms: https://www.core4x4.com/product/t3-j-tjljzjxjmj-fs4/
1 RT Heavy Duty Steering Kit with damper (I did not have the $ for a stinky fab 1 ton kit, which is what I want; I do not recommend RT - so no link)
Total Cost: ~$1000.00, maybe more; I'm scared to add it up.

CRV 1-2-3, Ep. 13: Do NOT Change Door Lock Actuators This Way!
CRV 1-2-3 documents how I turned a salvage title CRV EX AWD into something drivable. This vehicle came from New England. There were dead cockroaches throughout, it smelled like someone had died in it, and the rust. OMG, the rust. They use so much salt up there I was shocked that any of the car's frame remained. In episode one I show you how to start taking apart the front suspension. ALL OF IT HAD TO BE REPLACED!!!!
In this episode: I tried followiung the steps of a YOUTUBE how to video that insisted you can change your door lock actuators without removing the entire locking mechanism - that you can do it inside the door, thus saving time. No. You can't. And it takes more time if you try.
This is the video you should watch (or one like it). I think this may be the front door, which is slightly different from the rear, but this gives you the general idea:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMbWD9Y9du0
This is the video that you should NOT use, which I followed in this video, and which FAILED:
