Episode 7: Getting My Visa Extension - Life in Uganda with Bobby and Sharon
I came to Uganda from Michigan last year and married Sharon, who is Ugandan. Sharon and I recently did a video ("I can stay longer in Uganda") announcing that I am able to stay longer in Uganda after getting my visa extended. This video is our response to some of the questions and comments that we received from that video on another platform. #visa #uganda #africa #immigration

Two Weddings, Dancing in Church, and Riding a Boda-Boda: Reflections on Living in Uganda
I moved from Kalamazoo, Michigan to Entebbe, Uganda on July 23, 2023 to be with Sharon, a Ugandan citizen and the woman I love. We married two weeks later. We recently did our first Live on TikTok together to talk about my experiences so far, including our two weddings (one a civil marriage and the other a traditional African wedding), dancing in church, and riding boda-bodas (motorcycles) as the primary means to get around. Here is the full video!

Retirement and Marriage
I retired from my position at Western Michigan University on June 30, 2023 after being affiliated with the university in one capacity or another for 25 years. I flew to the country of Uganda the following month to be with Sharon, who I have been in a long-distance relationship with for the past two years. I formally proposed to her less than two weeks later, and we married only a few days after that. This video tells our incredible story!

Nighttime Geocaching
Charlie, Simon, Dakota, and I go Geocaching for one last time, at least for now. I have retired from my position at the university and I am traveling to Uganda, where I will be for up to a year. This is our last Geocaching video series together until I return. This part (the third of three) highlights our attempts to find our last Geocache of the day. The sun has set, and we find it in the dark. We have a lot of fun finding this one! #geocaching #fun

50: Geocaching on a VERY HOT Day (Part 2)
Charlie, Dakota, and I are out Geocaching on a very hot and dry June day. This is the second of two parts. This part highlights our last four finds. We set a goal to find between 15-20 Geocaches, but the heat eventually overwhelms us with exhaustion before we find anywhere near that many. At one point, my phone even overheats and shuts down. We would only be out for around 2 and a half hours, which is the shortest Geocaching adventure we have ever had. Charlie's brother Simon joins us at the end of the video. #geocaching #fun #hotday

49: Geocaching on a VERY HOT Day (Part 1)
Charlie, Dakota, and I go out for another Geocaching adventure on a very hot and dry June day. It hasn't rained in weeks and the area is starting to experience drought conditions. This is the first of two parts. This part highlights our first two finds. We set a goal to find between 15-20 Geocaches, but the heat would eventually stop us long before we found that many (but that is shown in Part 2). This would turn out to be the shortest Geocaching adventure we have ever had because of the heat (less than 3 hours). #geocaching #fun #hotday

45: Cold Late April Day (Part 1) - Geocaching with Bob, Charlie, and Simon
Simon is back after not being able to join us for over two months. It's a late April day (April 22, 2023), and it is cold and wet. The rain is expected to change to snow later as we Geocaching around a couple department stores (Walmart and Meijer). This video shows our first four finds in various locations including a tree stump and a fire hydrant. We also have a few interesting conversations about living in the Midwest and about whether we should give up Geocaching due to our inability to find certain Geocaches that should be easy. #geocaching #fun
