Welcome to week 1 in the new bus conversion. In this episode the kids and I have an adventure down the river, it rains so we move the bus to a new location before I drop the kids back to their mothers for their time with her which means i'm back to being on my own for a while. I drive the bus into the mountains and over a pass which is its biggest test yet with the tow vehicle behind. I was a little nervous to see how it performs! In this weeks video I get the bus back from the workshop where they installed my seatbelts and made the couch frame. I had 3 lap belts and 1 diagonal drivers belt installed at a cost of $4500. I then built the couch cladding around the frame and painted it. I got my upholstered cushions for the dinette back from the seamstress and I then took my table from inside my house, removed the table top and cut in half. I mounted it inside the bus for the dinette table. I realised at the end of this that I was basically finished all work that I need to do to have the bus ready to live in and it kind of snuck up on me and hit me the right in the feels.
