The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions and Editing Part 3
We finish off the merging of the two Matrix sequels by showing how to keep the tension up during the final battle.
That's it. That's all I need to say here.

The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions and Editing Part 2
We continue with our merging of two sequels into one by focusing on the bloat present in the Merovingian scene as well as the unneeded 'Neo coma' subplot that takes up the first half-hour of The Matrix Revolutions. We're still cutting the bloat, and the overall pacing of the single sequel will be all the better for it.

The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions and Editing Part 1
So, I was watching the two sequels to The Matrix, and I decided to take on the challenge of cutting all the bloat and seeing if the two films could be fitted into a single film with a runtime that would be fine for a theatrical release. The good news is that it can be done, and this three-part video series will go over how it's possible.

Quick Change - Cast Away
I wanted to do a quick video on how subtracting a couple of unneeded elements can actually add to the emotion of a specific scene as well as the ending of the film.

Quick Change - Batman Begins
Just very quickly, I want to show how even two lines of dialogue can affect the way we look at a character. In this video, I'm using Batman as an example and removing a couple of lines that make him seem a bit less like Batman, in my eyes anyway.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Editing - Taking the Childish Tantrums Out of Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren should've gone down in cinema history as one of the great Star Wars villains. Instead, the theatrical version of The Force Awakens paints him as a big baby who always loses to Rey, except that one time when the plot needs him to capture Rey. In this video, we'll remove the "big baby" stuff, so we can see Kylo as a more mature villain. If you want to see Kylo not lose to Rey when using the Force, check out my Taking the Mary Sue Out of Rey Part 2 video: https://rumble.com/vvft6i-star-wars-the-force-awakens-and-editing-taking-the-mary-sue-out-of-rey-part.html

Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Editing - Taking the Clown Out of Finn
It's a tragedy how badly Finn's character was used in the Sequel Trilogy, so we're going to alter The Force Awakens a bit to show what Finn would've looked like had his character been handled with more care. Let this be a lesson to you, young writers. And...

Music Choice - Hux's Scoreless Speech in The Force Awakens
Ever wonder how the presence of a good piece of music can heighten the emotion in a scene? Well, let's look at a scene without music then add music to it to see the importance of a solid score.

Rogue One and Editing Part 2 - More on Showing and Telling
We're doing another round of showing versus telling, but now with 100% less Saw Guerrera and mind-sucking monsters. We're also starting what will probably end up being a one-man campaign for #ReleaseTheEdwardsCut, and I just had to sneak in a small love note to George Lucas because... well, you know what day this video was uploaded.

Playing with Options - Rogue One and Editing Part 1 Re-visit
One of the great things about editing is finding different ways to accomplish the same task and deciding, among these options, which is the more effective approach. I'm going to show this with Rogue One. In my previous video, I cut the opening scene and kept Jyn's dream sequence. But what if we did the opposite and kept the opening scene while cutting the dream sequence? Part of the magic of editing is that the 'What if' in your mind can become a reality.

Rogue One and Editing Part 1 - Showing and Telling
"Show, don't tell" isn't always the best rule to write or edit by. Sometimes, it's good to show, while other times, it's better to tell. In this video, we're using scenes from Rogue One as examples of when to show and when to tell.
Also, I'll show how to introduce characters more naturally into a story as it flows. Plus, I felt that the choppy opening of the film, as well as Saw Guerrera, could use a bit of editing magic in this first of a two-part series covering Rogue One.

Transformers (2007) and Editing - About Impression and Flow
Impression and Flow are two important aspects of writing and editing, and in this video, we're using Michael Bay's 2007 film Transformers to show, through simple editing, how to catch and repair errors in these areas of storytelling.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Editing - Taking the Mary Sue Out of Rey Part 2
Yes, we're still taking the Mary Sue out of Rey, but for anyone who wants to see Kylo Ren as a less childish, more Darth Vader-like villain, this video is for you. Strong villains make stronger heroes, and this is how we'll make Rey stronger (in Part 3) without crossing into Mary Sue territory.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Editing - Taking the Mary Sue Out of Rey Part 1
To explore the idea that the editor is a storyteller, here is a glimpse of what Rey would be like if not a Mary Sue.
Also included is a brief bit on Poe as a Gary Stu and, going slightly off-topic from the video title, a look at Finn not portrayed as comic relief.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Editing - About That Bad Humor
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the 2009 sequel to Michael Bay's 2007 Transformers film, has a lot -- I mean, a lot -- of bad humor, and if we remove that bad humor, we can keep the writing and editing from tripping over itself. We can vastly improve the flow and pacing of this movie with that one simple step.
