I See You (Remastered)
The pensive song of a lonesome traveler.

Performed by Johnny, Ben, and Bobby Bronze.
I See You
Driving down the highway, before the old night's end
I was feeling very lonesome, wishing I had a friend.
My heart was aching mighty bad as I sped right down the road,
Then I thought of you, remembered that I had a hand to hold.
[R] I see you in the mountains, I see you in the bright stars of the sky,
I see you in the forest, and wherever I go, it's on you I rely.
My thought still dwells upon you as I journey on.
Before I knew you I was lost; my strength was nearly gone.
It ain't so easy driving away from all that you know,
But I know that you'll still love me wherever I should go.
[R]
I sit down by the fire's side at the close of the day.
I watch the dancing of the flames and the shadows that softly play.
I kick on back and think of you, the only one I love.
My eyes, they twinkle with the stars that smile up above.

Northern Traveler
The traveler's Magnificat.
"Northern Traveler" Copyright 2023 Johnny Bronze. Photography by "Deenya"
1. Winter hit me hard and left me reeling.
Spent springtime with the fever and in love,
But now it's time to go and I'm leaving this behind
And my troubles are the furthest from my mind.
2. I'm going to catch a big and shiny jet plane,
Touch down in Milwaukee, then from there
A pickup drive away is all that's left to go
'Til the cozy family cabin in the woods.
R. How good the Lord has been to me
He's given me all I need.
I'm at peace with the past, though there's been some cloudy days,
Now I see it's all right.
3. I'm going to get my fingers in the dirt
Gonna stand beneath the leafy canopy
And spend some good old-fashioned time with kinsfolk young and old
Get back to living in that place that's always home. (R)
4. Goodbye now to my loved ones and my friends!
Don't let the sorrow of our parting pull you down.
God willing, some day, we'll all fly away to that home where we'll never cease to sing: (R)

Lego House (Ed Sheeran Cover)
"Lego House" from + (Addition) by Ed Sheeran, 2011.
Produced by Johnny Bronze & Co.
I'm gonna pick up the pieces
And build a Lego house
If things go wrong we can knock it down
My three words have two meanings
But There's one thing on my mind, it's all for you
And it's dark in a cold December
But I've got you to keep me warm
And if you're broken I'll mend you
And I keep you sheltered from the storm
That's raging on now.
[Refrain] I'm out of touch, I'm out of love
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done
I think I love you better now
I'm out of sight, I'm out of mind
I'll do it all for you in time
And out of all these things I've done
I think I love you better now. (now)
I'm gonna paint you by numbers and color you in
If things go right we can frame it
And put you on a wall
And it's so hard to say it but I've been here before
Now I'll surrender up my heart and swap it for yours
[Refrain] I'm out of touch, I'm out of love
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done
I think I love you better now
I'm out of sight, I'm out of mind
I'll do it all for you in time
And out of all these things I've done
I think I love you better now
Don't hold me down
I think the braces are breaking
And it's more than I can take.
And it's dark in a cold December
But I've got you to keep me warm
If you're broken I will mend you
And I keep you sheltered from the storm
That's raging on now.
[Refrain] I'm out of touch, I'm out of love
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done
I think I love you better now
I'm out of sight, I'm out of mind
I'll do it all for you in time
And out of all these things I've done
I think I love you better now
I'm out of touch, I'm out of love
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done
I will love you better now.

Back Home Again (John Denver Cover)
Back Home Again by John Denver, 1974.
Performed by the Bronze Brothers, February 2023.
Lyrics.
1. There's a storm across the valley, clouds are rollin' in
The afternoon is heavy on your shoulders
There's a truck out on the four lane, a mile or more away
The whinin' of his wheels just makes it colder
2. He's an hour away from ridin' on your prayers up in the sky
Ten days on the road are barely gone
There's a fire softly burning, supper's on the stove
It's the light in your eyes that makes him warm
R. Hey, it's good to be back home again
Sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend
Yes, and hey, it's good to be back home again
3. There's all the news to tell him, how'd you spend your time?
What's the latest thing the neighbors say
And your mother called last Friday, sunshine made her cry
You felt the baby move just yesterday
[R]
[Br]Oh, the time that I can lay this tired old body down
Feel your fingers feather soft on me
The kisses that I live for, the love that lights my way
The happiness that livin' with you brings me
4. It's the sweetest thing I know of, just spending time with you
It's the little things that make a house a home
Like a fire softly burning and supper on the stove
The light in your eyes that makes me warm
[R] (Originally repeated twice, ending in:)
Hey, it's good to be back home again
I said, hey, it's good to be back home again

I'll Fly Away
The traditional backcountry song expressing hope for the joys of heaven and freedom from the cares of this world.
Performed by Johnny, Benny, and Bobby Bronze, November 2022.
Some bright morning when this life is over
I’ll fly away
To that home on God’s celestial shore
I’ll fly away.
I’ll fly away oh glory
I’ll fly away (in the morning)
When I die hallelujah by and by
I’ll fly away.
When the shadows of this life have gone
I’ll fly away
Like a bird from these prison walls I’ll fly
I’ll fly away.
Oh how glad and happy when we meet
I’ll fly away
No more cold iron shackles on my feet
I’ll fly away.
Just a few more weary days and then
I’ll fly away
To a land where joys will never end
I’ll fly away.

Helplessly Hoping (CSN Cover)
Helplessly Hoping by Stephen Stills,1969.
Originally performed by Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
Brought to you by the Bronze Brothers in '22.
Helplessly hoping her harlequin hovers nearby
Awaiting a word
Gasping at glimpses of gentle true spirit, he runs
Wishing he could fly
Only to trip at the sound of goodbye
Wordlessly watching, he waits by the window and wonders
At the empty place inside
Heartlessly helping himself to her bad dreams, he worries
Did he hear a goodbye?
Or even hello?
They are one person
They are two alone
They are three together
They are for each other.
Stand by the stairway
You'll see something certain to tell you
Confusion has its cost
Love isn't lying, it's loose in a lady who lingers
Saying she is lost
And choking on hello
They are one person
They are two alone
They are three together
They are for each other.

Like a Sister
A man bids his love farewell.
©Copyright 2022 by Johnny Bronze
Performed by Johnny, Ben, and Bobby Bronze
1. Everyone's gone now, it's just you and me.
My heart is full, and now, my mind is free.
So sit on down and talk with me beneath this maple tree.
I guess I'll say it now, I sure have thought it over enough
My darling, I allow that what I feel for you is love.
[R] I want to love you like a wife.
I want to take you to the church and get ourselves a life,
But baby, now I'm telling you, I have got to leave you.
I can't follow through.
I'll have to love you like a sister.
2. When the letter came, I was sitting on the front porch, when the night was still.
I read the news and I thought of you as the moon shone over the hill.
My father's sick, he's got a family, and now I've got his place to fill.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
But time and distance leave a mark.
Still, while I'm over yonder, our love can still shine through the dark.
[R] I want to love you like a wife.
I want to take you to the church and get ourselves a life,
But baby, now I'm telling you, I have got to leave you.
I can't follow through.
I'll have to love you like a sister.
...Love you like a sister.

Amarillo by Morning (George Strait Cover)
After the Style of George Strait. Arranged by J. Bronze.
Amarillo by Morning by Terry Stafford and Paul Fraser, 1973.
Amarillo by mornin'
Up from San Antone
Everything that I got
Is just what I've got on
When that Sun is high
In that Texas sky
I'll be buckin' at the county fair
Amarillo by mornin'
Amarillo I'll be there.
They took my saddle in Houston
Broke my leg in Santa Fe
Lost my wife and a girlfriend
Somewhere along the way
But I'll be lookin' for eight
When they pull that gate
And I hope that
Judge ain't blind
Amarillo by mornin'
Amarillo's on my mind.
Amarillo by mornin'
Up from San Antone
Everything that I got
Is just what I've got on
I ain't got a dime
But what I've got is mine
I ain't rich
But Lord, I'm free
Amarillo by mornin'
Amarillo's where I'll be
Amarillo by mornin'
Amarillo's where I'll be.

Cowboy's Life
A song of the cattle drive.

Performed by Johnny, Ben, and Bobby Bronze
Cowboy's Life
Early in the morning we sit around and drink a pot of coffee,
But we don't hang around for long.
Restless are the horses, saddled up in the corral.
"Round up the steers!"
Now we're off across the plains.
[R] Where I live is right behind them cattle.
Weather doesn't matter none, I'm right here in the saddle.
I sleep beneath the open skies in lightning and in hail.
The cowboy's life is rough out on the trail.
That big old sun is mighty mean, the days are hot as blazes.
We finally reach a water hole.
The longhorns drink it all, and they leave the mud for us,
My throat is dust,
And my tongue's as stiff as wood.
[R]
Though life is tough as leather boots and danger's always waiting,
We're never far from happy times.
A fiddle and guitar never fail to make us laugh,
Campfire light,
With brandy and a song.
[R]
When the boys catch sight of town, they start to whoop and holler.
At last we kiss our steers goodbye.
We have a mighty time, then I turn my horse around,
Best get on home
To the good old Texas ranch.

This Lonely Campfire
Sitting by this lonely campfire's side,
Memories echo through my quiet mind.
The shadows all around me draw me closer to the fire
That makes me recollect my own home far away.
[R] Now I'm out on my own.
From now on, I'll live among the cedar groves and streams,
And though I walk in solitude,
I know I'm not alone.
Yes, I roam the wild, I roam the Great Unknown.
The sun has sunk behind the trees
Like a golden, shining ship beneath the waves.
The fire and the crooning of my trusty, old guitar
Remove the dark of night from my mind.
[R]
The hands that once were soft and weak
Have been tried by labor and are strong.
My weary feet have borne me through the dust for many miles.
Their duty isn't done, for I've got far to go.
[R]
No one knows, except the Lord above,
Where my path will lead, at the break of dawn.
For now, the lonely fire flickers on throughout the night;
My weary body drifts off to sleep.
[R]
