I spent a lot of time outside on this day, and enjoyed watching some of the wildlife that hangs out in our yard.

No wildlife herein, for a change!

Hubby had an appointment in Saginaw. We had some wonderful wildlife visitors. I'm exhausted.

Finally getting around to filling you in on why I'm not putting up my regular posts, why you haven't seen me around my usual places, what's up with the black arm, and the big one, "So why have you been in the hospital, anyway?"

My first restful day after getting out of the hospital...and the weather was PERFECT!

We went to West Branch today, my first day out of the hospital.

An update on the trials and tribulations of hearing my new-to-me keyboard; demo of sounds; finally, a working setup!

This is the battle that we saw taking place in our yard a few days ago. We've never seen a daddy long legs take on a cricket before, and had no idea they would hunt something so much larger then themselves! Though we started watching earlier in the battle it was so engrossing that I didn't think to grab my phone and record until this point, when the outcome was already pretty much decided. It was fascinating!

We love this place, though we don't shop there as often as we did when we didn't live in the midst of an Amish community with lots of their stores within a few miles. Still, it's a great fun experience to shop there. Typically we combine it with some of Pete's doctor's appointments in the area but this day we just felt like going. Here is what we bought. As we were coming out of the restaurant where always go for a fish dinner in Farwell, MI the funeral procession was just beginning to move through town. They were staging the mounted division to our right. We had just learned, as we were eating, of the tragic death of a young mounted deputy the week before while working at the county fair, and it was heavy on our minds as we ate. Then we emerged to see the procession lining up to begin. I did some video about it, showing bits but not all; I recorded very discreetly from inside the car - unlike the drones buzzing overhead - and didn't record the family/friends in their cars of course. It was very emotional for us...my husband as a former cop, both of my grandfathers in law enforcement (one as a Captain, one as a Lieutenant in charge of the mounted division in a large city)...we felt the loss deeply though we didn't know her. I'd planned to do laundry today, but when the opportunity came to go visit Bill & Casey & the grands, I jumped at the chance! This video has a little of everything, from the arts (music and visual arts) to bike races!

Typically we do our errands on Fridays but this week we have other plans so we did them today instead, and chose Mt. Pleasant as the most likely place to find the things that we needed. (Lots of "my face talking" in this video!)

As I have hinted at in my updates recently, something BIG was coming up in my life. And today it came! This is the 2nd time I have gotten something this magnificent, this spectacular, for myself...
