Solo Fortnite Battle Royale Victory from Aug 28 2021. Strategy is key. Patience is everything. It is quite obvious who the better players were when it came down to the final three, but that didn't matter. Sure, it was a sneaky and uh, not very brave to wait and hide, but I was definitely playing to my strengths here. In the end I was lucky that these two very good players engaged each other first and never really even saw me. That strategy worked pretty well for getting victories, but not so much for getting XP!

Solo Fortnite Battle Royale from Aug 28 2021. I'm definitely improving as I play, even though in this round I seem to get worse as I go. I am experimenting and trying out different weapons, that's an area that took a long time for me to find out what I like. Actually, to this day I'm still finding that out. If this round proves anything it's that I'm patient and sneaky and I can hit a non-moving target. But I can't hit a moving target for nothin'!

Fortnite Battle Royale duo game from August 27, 2021. Notable experiences from this game include talking to Beast Boy earn a Superman outfit for a quest - which I never achieved. But that was a new way to play the game for me, I hadn't realized there were quests available before then. My partner and I got to do the Taco Time emote with an NPC, and this was before I got that emote myself. And this was also the first time I realized that you could tame animals, when a boar tried to hog the bush we were hiding in.

Fortnite Battle Royale duo victory from August 26, 2021. I missed recording the first part of live play that day, so obviously we begin with replay footage. So I included a bit of wottwin's perspective, too, because I enjoy split screens :) Re-watching this round here, I am happy to see myself slowly improving. In this game, we obviously had a plan to hit Slone early on and we slugged it out with her clones to win her pulse rifle. Maybe because of wielding that powerful weapon, maybe I didn't dare miss with it, but I actually took careful aim and managed to do much better on that account than I usually do. And - landmark of all landmarks - I actually opened up my inventory and moved my best gun to my first slot. Learning feels good.

Battle Royale victory from August 26, 2021. I only had the last part of the game recorded during live play, so most of the footage is from my partner's replay. That's fine, wottwin has the better aim most days anyway and she saved my butt here. I remember it was the first time I ever got knocked while in water and it was a great delight to find that an inner tube miraculously appears. The footage situation gave me a great opportunity to use a split screen and find out what wottwin does when I'm not looking.

Fortnite Battle Royal Duo victory from August 24, 2021. The taco head is not so hopeless in this round as usual. Aim seems to be improving, and if I still don't know what weapons are the best, well, at least I'm picking up good ones. Believer Beach was lucky in late August, this was our second win in a row there!

I play a slow, stealthy game of Fortnite and it is not always glamorous or exciting. But every now and then it pays off in fun ways.

Then the game centers around Corny Complex, where we decide that discretion is the better part of valor, for the most part. In the end, wottwin and I strategized to divide and conquer, where I would lay some fire for distraction while she moved in around the side to take the last team out. It worked out well - for me, anyway!

Well, I had only been playing for a couple of months. Got a couple of silly quests accomplished, and managed to get my aim straight enough to help win the round. And I guess I can't say this enough - those Fortnite maps were beautiful.

Fortnite Battle Royale Duo round from August 20, 2021. Fell just short of victory here with a strategy mis-step and very bad aim on my part at the end. Nonetheless, I am excited about some progress in my gaming abilities. Namely, my ability to use blunt force trauma and a sniper rifle to survive. Long live the taco.

High on our win, we decide not to ruin it by getting into any other fights until the end. Slone's pulse rifle makes the deciding shot to win the round!

Fortnite duo Battle Royale victory from August 19, 2021. My motto is "Discretion is the Better Part of Valor" it seems. Good thing my partner Wottwin was there, especially to defeat Sloan at the beginning. She took care of most of the eliminating throughout the game. I, the taco head, took care of looking yummy.
