The festival, also known as Vesak or Wesak day, is a celebration of Buddha's birthday and a time to reflect on his teachings and what it means to be Buddhist.

Each Buddhist culture has its own traditions for the day, but it is celebrated in lots of different Asian countries, including Thailand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Also, the etymology of "Ukraine" is not settled as "borderlands." Many Ukrainian linguists argue that the etymology of Ukraine comes from words meaning "In My Land," not "borderlands." Thirdly, I misspelled Kyiv as Kiev. If I made further mistakes, let me know and I'll amend here.
