Chapter 6: 00:20 - 00:24 But when I close my eyes, I can see what was Chapter 7: 00:25 - 00:28 And feel the summer breeze blow softly on my face Chapter 8: 00:29 - 00:32 I've gone back in time, to my grandparent's farm Chapter 9: 00:33 - 00:37 Such a wonderful and special place. These recollections are not particularly pleasant, but they are the moments that stand out in my mind. Chapter 3: 00:14 - 00:20 I can vividly remember being around five or six years old, tears streaming down my face as my dad packed his bags for a trip. Chapter 4: 00:21 - 00:25 Little did I know it would be the last time I shed tears for his departure. Chapter 5: 00:26 - 00:29 Holidays were always a violent time. Chapter 6: 00:30 - 00:35 I distinctly remember the heated arguments that would erupt before my father eventually be overcome by intoxication. Chapter 7: 00:36 - 00:41 The atmosphere would become tense and filled with tension, overshadowing the festive spirit. Chapter 8: 00:42 - 00:48 One evening, my father returned home with an excited expression, proclaiming that we should make popcorn for a trip to the drive-in. Chapter 9: 00:49 - 00:56 Overjoyed at the prospect, my siblings and I hastily prepared the popcorn, eager for the adventure that awaited us. Chapter 10: 00:57 - 01:01 However, our excitement soon deflated as my father declared that it would not be us accompanying him. Chapter 11: 01:02 - 01:06 Instead, he had made plans with a friend and a couple of acquaintances. Chapter 12: 01:07 - 01:11 We were left standing there, crushed and disappointed. Chapter 13: 01:12 - 01:18 Another memory etched in my mind is when our neighbor kids would gravitate towards my father, seeking favors or handouts. Chapter 14: 01:19 - 01:27 It stung deeply when my father freely distributed money to them for soda, all while we, his own children, were left empty-handed and unacknowledged. Chapter 15: 01:28 - 01:35 I can clearly recall the challenging experiences I had as a 15-year-old, like having to explain to our landlords that we couldn't afford to pay the rent. Chapter 16: 01:36 - 01:40 It was quite an overwhelming responsibility for someone my age. Chapter 17: 01:41 - 01:46 I also remember my mother working tirelessly so that we could have food to eat and a roof over our heads. Chapter 18: 01:47 - 01:51 In order to avoid paying for a babysitter, I often found myself looking after other kids. Chapter 19: 01:52 - 01:58 I remember my father coming home and immediately passing out either in the car or on the porch, clearly exhausted. Chapter 20: 01:59 - 02:04 His continuous remarks about how none of us were his biological kids still resonate in my mind. Chapter 21: 02:05 - 02:10 I also recall him carrying a picture of some woman in his pocket, which made me question his loyalty to our family. Chapter 22: 02:11 - 02:19 Unfortunately, my memories of him mainly revolve around the constant fights and his relentless insults towards me, where he made me feel worthless. Chapter 23: 02:20 - 02:23 I struggle to remember any positive moments or qualities about him. Chapter 24: 02:24 - 02:28 He may have been my biological father, but that's about it. Chapter 25: 02:29 - 02:35 So now, you have an understanding of the memories I hold, and it's certainly not something I would put on a pedestal.
