After the geogrid retaining wall was finished we have been getting pummeled with rain for weeks on end! AUG 2022. Today is a short video with 2 valuable tips on food plots & new equipment and tractor owners. It is that time again for fall food plots! If you are clearing a new food plot from some woods or overgrown areas, this tip will improve that newly created food plot, and if you have already cleared a food plot you can always add or implement some food plot 'cover islands,' which will improve upon any food plot. And secondly if you are an equipment owner or new tractor owner, be sure to look ahead and create at least one backup diesel fuel source for your tractor (or gasoline if you are using ATV's, UTV's or other gas equipment) so that if and when you run out, it won't ruin your food plotting day and progress with no fuel! Sharon here. I'm finalizing the prep for the massive western red cedar log for our VRBO cabin living room and I think I discovered an ancient ant historical document carved into the log! See for yourself! I'm not an archeologist or any kind of scientist, but to me I think these are ant carved petroglyphs that tell their story from many years ago! Love to hear what your interpretation of this incredible historical find is! I think I might need to change the filter on my dust mask or take a vacation. LOL.

Just a quick update vlog for those following my Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate mission of trying to get the softest ride possible, yet still have a very capable off road machine! So, as much as I hate to admit this, I actually THOUGHT that I had lowered the tire pressure to 12 psi, and I still had quite a stiff ride. As a matter of fact, in this video: I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED A LACK OF TRACTION OFFROAD!: https://youtu.be/R65mDcW4nDI I noticed a substantial loss of traction! WELL.. it turns out that my KM3's were way over inflated, which was one major reason that I had less traction just in overgrown weeds in a field! I guess it's that mid 50's thing when we really start to lose it! Anyway, join me for the first ride AFTER I ACTUALLY take the tire pressure from 25 psi down to 12 psi. Marked difference I could tell immediately! Oh, and also Sharon used my buggy and she noticed how nice and soft the ride was! LOL, she might want new tires after that ride in mine! Over the years I've had quite a few opinions, and comments about 'why don't you take your bucket off the loader when you bush hog?' They say it saves weight, and therefor saves fuel. Join us for some fresh air, some new scenery and some Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate land exploring and 'making our own trails' episode! In today's episode we are taking a property tour of a 160 acre Southern Illinois farm that is for sale and my buddy Phil and his wife Tammy will be tag teaming and joining us for the property tour and land assessment. Phil will be in his Intimidator UTV riding behind us to get some video footage of my 2022 Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate sunset red. But the main goal of this video is to show you how I noticed an immediate loss of traction with my new tire upgrade, which is a set of 30" BF Goodrich KM3 Mud and off-road tires that I just swapped out with the stock/upgraded Pro Armor tires that come standard with the new Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate's. We were riding and exploring this 160 acre parcel traversing a lot of fallow fields with a lot of water erosion washouts and it has not been mowed for a couple of years. The property owner, Randy, would walk ahead of us in the tall weeds to assess each known water erosion washout to determine how much of a tipping hazard it was before we hit it with our Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate crew. Sharon here. What goes best with a DIY hewn log bed? A matching bench at the foot end of it! This is unique, organic decor at it's best. I take the Polaris UTV out to our woods in a natural sandstone creek bed and pick stones of different shapes and sizes for the base. Using a 100 year old hewn oak log from the log smokehouse we disassembled, I take a pressure washer to bring the brilliant warm colors of the sandstone out and the rich oak grain and axe marks. The combination of colors and textures are rustic, original yet functional. This is part 1 - acquiring and prepping the materials. Stay tuned for part 2 of the final assembly. I can't wait to get it in our VRBO cabin for others to enjoy. Maybe some day you'll be sitting on it!
