HONDA PCX 2022 the perfect scooter with new colors and graphics
On the market since 2013 and now in its 3rd generation, the Honda PCX is the most successful model in the national scooter market. The segment, which continues to grow, is responsible for bringing new users to the world of two wheels, eager for the practicality and economy of scooters, qualities in which the Honda PCX 1 is a reference.
Despite being constantly modernized, the PCX has never strayed from the characteristics that consecrated it as a leader among national scooters, with multiple qualities that place it at the top of the wish list of those who demand a practical, economical vehicle, with accessible maintenance and with high resale value. For 2022 the Honda PCX will continue to be offered in four versions: PCX CBS, PCX ABS, PCX DLX ABS and PCX Sport ABS.
In the PCX line, the entry-level version is the PCX CBS, equipped with the CBS - Combined Braking System - brake, which operates with disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear. The particularity of the CBS is the distribution of braking force in a differentiated way on both wheels through the left brake lever (30% in the front and 70% in the rear), leaving the right lever to act exclusively on the front brake. CBS is, admittedly, responsible for an important reduction in braking spaces, and particularly suitable for beginner motorcyclists.
The PCX ABS, the second model in the family, has a metallic color option and an electronically assisted braking system on the front wheel and disc brakes on both wheels, the same solution adopted by the "top" models, the PCX DLX ABS and the PCX Sport ABS, which are distinguished by the finish: the DLX with a more refined color palette, while the PCX Sport received a tone that highlights the more sporty character.
All versions share the same technical architecture. The engine is the renowned single cylinder SOHC (Single Over Head Camshaft), 4-stroke, with electronic injection PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection), liquid-cooled and with a continuously variable automatic transmission CVT (V-Matic), with a maximum power of 13 .2 hp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 1.38 kgf.m at 5,000 rpm. Equipped with the eSP (enhanced Smart Power) system, this device automatically reduces the engine speed when under constant acceleration on flat terrain, benefiting economy and durability.
Another exclusive technical highlight of the Honda PCX is the ISS - Idling Stop System, which works by automatically turning off the engine at traffic lights, restarting it as soon as the accelerator is activated. The CVT V-Matic transmission is another attractive factor in the PCX, both for its driving comfort and for the robustness of the system, whose maintenance is minimal.
As for the chassis/suspensions, the PCXs have a reinforced structure in steel tubes, with hydraulic telescopic suspension at the front, while at the rear the shock absorbers have three-stage springs. Both wheels are 14-inches, shod with 100/80-14 tires at the front and 120/70-14 at the rear.
The Honda PCX's modernity completes the panel with a Blackout display, LED lighting on the DRL - Daytime Running Light, daytime running lights, headlight and taillight. Classic scooter comfort, the compartment under the seat of the PCX has a capacity of 28 liters and a practical opening system using a button located next to the start button. To the left of the front shield there is a compartment equipped with a 12V socket. The PCX Sport and PCX DLX versions have the Smart Key System, a face-to-face sensor that unlocks the start button and access key to the under seat compartment and fuel tank. In the other PCX models, the start is carried out by a key that controls the Shutter Key anti-theft device.
The 2022 Honda PCX will be available at Honda dealerships nationwide from September. The warranty is three years, unlimited mileage, plus seven free oil changes. Closer look at the $5,000 SONDORS METACYCLE electric motorcycle
The low-cost 130 km/h SONDORS Metacycle may be one of the most highly anticipated electric motorcycles of the year, but that huge spotlight also shines a light on controversies surrounding its delayed production.
Originally intended to roll out by the end of this year, the delivery timeline was briefly moved up to Q3 of 2021 before again being pushed back to the end of the year.
As the end of 2021 approached though, it began to look increasingly unlikely that the $5,000 electric motorcycle would make it into reservation holders’ driveways in time.
On cue, just last month the company’s CEO Storm Sondors confirmed that production was now updated to begin in mid-February, with the first bikes beginning to ship out of Asia by the end of that month. Initial receipt of bikes on US shores was then claimed to start by the end of March, and the entire first batch of 2,000 electric motorcycles would be produced by April 6.
Now that timeframe has been drawn into question, as several Metacycle reservation holders have shared with Electrek a new email update from the company with a longer timeline.
The company explained to customers in the email that they could now expect the bikes to arrive at their addresses by June:
As one of our preferential first round owners, we want to keep you informed on the latest shipping estimates. Founder & CEO Storm Sondors shared this exclusive update at the LA Auto Show: production of the first 2,000 units will be completed by April, with shipping to customers in the US expected to begin by June, 2022.
That asterisk then leads to a shipping disclaimer that has become common in the e-bike market:
Shipping estimates are our current best estimate working with continually changing timelines. All estimates are subject to updates in either direction, depending on global shortages, setbacks and complications affecting our global manufacturing, supply chain and shipping partners.
We reported on Storm’s interview at the LA Auto Show where he did in fact confirm that production would begin in February of 2022 and that the first 2,000 units would be finished by April. However, the delivery timeline for US customers was quoted as being much rosier, beginning in March.
In actuality, many shipping containers have taken more than two months to complete what was previously a three-week trip from Asia to the US West Coast. Thus, this new longer timeline is likely a more accurate estimate of true delivery expectations based on the current shipping constraints for international sea freight.
The email was also one of the first pieces of Metacycle marketing or communication to feature new artwork of the updated design.
When the Metacycle was first unveiled, its sleek and futuristic design impressed the industry but drew questions about how much of the design could make its way into a street-legal motorcycle.
Late last month we reported exclusive photos showing the latest production-ready version of the Metacycle with several key design updates intended to fulfill DOT requirements. Changes were largely aesthetic, such as the inclusion of new lights, reflectors, and a license plate holder.
However, the battery department also seemed to be redesigned with a larger shelf to hold the removable battery.

Now SONDORS has started using the updated design in its marketing emails and website, though many of the original concept images can still be found around the pre-order site.
The pre-order page shows the new design and retains the $5,000 price (not including delivery charges or tax), but Sondors previously indicated that the price is likely to increase to $6,500 at some point.

For Mercedes-AMG, this year’s TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa is all about a special anniversary: 50 years ago almost to the day, the classic race at the Ardennes circuit resulted into the first major success that put the still young AMG brand onto the major motorsport stage almost overnight. Hans Heyer and Clemens Schickentanz won their class and finished second overall with the Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG, a sensation that still has its effect on the Mercedes-AMG spirit to the present. As homage to the legendary red saloon car that defeated the opposition with the considerably lighter race cars back in 1971, Mercedes-AMG has developed the limited edition “50 Years Legend of Spa”. It includes all three GT3 generations that have been available since 2010. For maximum exclusivity, the number has been limited to one of each. The limited edition consists of one Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, one Mercedes-AMG GT3 (model year 2016) and the current evolution version of the Mercedes-AMG GT3. All three race cars are ready-to-race one-offs with special characteristics and unique features. Characteristic is the livery that recalls the iconic looks of the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG from 50 years ago. Next to the red basic colour, the surfaces for starting numbers and sponsors have been unmistakably inspired by the race participation at Spa at the time.
The extras in the interior include, among others, a finish in Graphite Metallic Matt and an instrument panel in carbon. On this panel, there is an anniversary plaque with the original signature of AMG founder Hans Werner Aufrecht. Technically, the special editions are real exceptions, too: for instance, the performance exhaust system allows for sound to be enjoyed to the maximum. The AMG 6.3 litre V8 atmospheric engine can unleash its full power level of 478 kW (650 hp) without an air restrictor. Delivery is without FIA homologation.

The LUX model has added extra class with LED headlights, and there’s now a more reserved and appropriate front grille including stylish 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. We tested the LUX in a striking Scarlett Red colour.
The overall profile is well put together, with nothing really seeming out of place. Interestingly, the rear pillar also includes the integration of the Haval emblem (a feature commonly seen on the cars of more expensive brands, such as BMW with the X2). The faux twin exhaust facade and lower accent trim paneling create a substantial look from the rear.
One of the key benefits of opting for the LUX model is the panoramic sunroof and sun shade, which helps to make the whole car feel much more premium from the inside. The driver’s seat also gets electric six-way controls, and both seats in the front are heated.
Leather seats come as standard, while red and black contrasting Comfort-Tek seats (Premium Eco-Leather) are optional. A full climate control system is also included in the LUX package. When you add it all up, $3,000 really does get you a lot of bang for your buck.
The interior has been put together with premium materials, and there are lots of soft touch plastics throughout the cabin (particularly in areas your fingers venture most frequently).
The infotainment system isn’t the most elaborate, and Haval seem to have forgotten Android users exist – Apple CarPlay is included, but Android Auto is not. There are two fairly-sized drink holders in the centre console, and the door pockets are rather generous with the amount of space they offer.
Behind the wheel, you’ll notice a fairly upright driving position which offers good vision of the road ahead, however, the rear seat rests do restrict the view to the rear somewhat. Fortunately, the reverse camera is clear enough and worked well. The placement of switches and controls is well thought out to create a friendlier driving experience.
Haval state that they have an ergonomic humanistic approach to design, and claim that the H2 is one of the easiest SUVs to access and drive. By designing the seats at an average hip-height, it provides easy ingress and egress, so there’s no awkward climbing, as is often the case with many other SUVs.
Although there’s only 300 litres of cargo space, the split folding seats allow you to carry larger items. During testing, we were able to transport a vintage farmer’s bench in the car, with two adults and two children, which is quite impressive for an SUV that’s just 4365mm long.
The H2 felt relatively comfortable on the road. It’s by no means a powerhouse, but does sport a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine, which produces 110kW @5600rpm.
The transmission is a conventional six-speed auto and works fine, however, the engine and transmission at times feel like they are in a sort of adolescent romance when it comes to power delivery control.
The Haval H2 is one of the better-looking premium-feeling compact SUVs on the market today considering the low price point, but its performance won’t necessarily blow you away like its good looks might.
In a crowded marketplace, it’ll be interesting to see how the Haval H2 performs against the likes of the MG ZS and Renault Duster, and also alongside some of the more premium models like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Venue and Mitsubishi ASX.

HONDA NXR 160 BROS 2022 new design with comfort and economy
For nearly two decades the name “Bros” has been present in the daily lives of Brazilian motorcyclists. As soon as it hit the market, in 2003, the newcomer on/off soon attracted attention for its innovative formula, a successful mix between the qualities of a trail and those of a road.
Initially offered in two versions - NXR 125 Bros and NXR 150 Bros -, the model's versatility captivated many fans, making it a true asset of the national motorcycle industry, a CG type of mixed tires, able to safely face roads of any type , economy, comfort and durability.
In this long existence, Bros was being polished, without the constant improvements changing its "soul" of versatile and brave motorcycle, with the face of Brazil. This successful trajectory can be translated into numbers: more than 2.5 million Bros were sold since launch until July 2021, with the latest 160cc version, introduced in late 2014, accounting for 840,790 units.
More aggressive, dynamic and modern, the Bros 2022 is more attractive without losing any of the attributes that made it an undisputed success. In fact, the model's tradition is to always evolve, but never dissociate itself from the original concept, the “jack of all trades” motorcycle, suitable for a wide range of uses and different types of users.
2. Generalities of the model
The Honda NXR 160 Bros 2022 continues in a single version, equipped with electric starter and disc brake on two wheels with CBS – Combined Brake System. Both the engine and the cycling part are unchanged compared to the Bros 2021 version, thus preserving recognized dynamic qualities in addition to durability, economy and safety.
Equipped with the most powerful engine in its category and a set of long-haul suspensions, the NXR 160 Bros stands out for providing a smooth and comfortable ride, whether on expressways, congested urban routes or uneven terrain, always offering comfort and power reserve, which is synonymous with security.
The precise work of modernization in the design is the highlight of this 2022 version of the NXR 160 Bros: the tank and its fins, the headlight fairing set and the sides have an unprecedented design, more aggressiveness and dynamism. Another important improvement was to apply protective bellows to the front suspension canes, which will increase the life of the retainers when intensively used on unpaved roads.

The engine of the NXR 160 Bros is the renowned 4-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder, with overhead camshaft – OHC, Over Head Camshaft –, which acts on roller rocker arms. Its cubic capacity is exactly 162.7 cm3, and the PGM-FI electronic injection feed follows the FlexOne technology, which allows the use of ethanol and gasoline in different proportions.
The maximum power is 14.7 hp with ethanol and 14.5 hp with gasoline, at 8,500 rpm. The maximum torque is 1.60 kgf.m with ethanol and 1.46 kgf.m with gasoline, at 5,500 rpm. The gearbox has five speeds, with gear ratios adapted to the Bros. on-off road profile. The mechanically actuated clutch is an oil-bath multi-disc type. Secondary transmission uses 428 chain, with 48 tooth sprocket and 16 tooth pinion.
The semi-double steel cradle chassis provides excellent rigidity and structural strength, suited to Bros' scope – to be a motorcycle capable of handling rough terrain –, which is complemented by long-haul suspensions. At the front, the telescopic fork allows an excursion of 180 mm for the choked wheel with a 90/90-19 M/C 52P tire. At the back, the suspension is of the mono-cushioned type, with a spring-damper set directly coupled to the steel scale, which allows the wheel to be paved with a 110/90-17 M/C 60P tire, 150 mm travel.
The brake system has discs on both wheels, with hydraulically actuated calipers. Bros CBS has been tuned for the long suspension travel, and is responsible for an important reduction in braking spaces compared to the conventional brake system. The particularity of the CBS is to distribute the pedal action between both wheels (30% for the front, 70% for the rear), leaving the lever only to act on the front brake.

The balance of lines brings the elegance and dynamism to a typical Jeep. It also has the traditional and striking seven slits which, together with the unified headlamps, feature a unique signature, reinforcing the breadth and imposingness of the Commander's personality.
The rear silhouette and horizontal bar also match the robust muscles and sophistication of the taillights' signature. In addition, the Jeep DNA can be seen in every detail, such as the trapezoidal wheel arches, ramp angles and ground height that characterize the lateral family feeling.
The optical group was developed to bring an extra dose of exclusivity to the model. The Full LED headlamps provide more safety and have a dynamic arrow, another premium trend, which works as an additional element of elegance to the optical assembly. The Commander's flashlights, also in LED, have an unprecedented design and are finished in satin chrome, with four lower reflectors, one with an arrow function and the other three with position light and brake. Sophistication can be considered the main attribute of the Jeep Commander, which is imposing on the outside and unrivaled on the inside. A first-of-its-kind technology, Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® was first showcased on the NSX Concept at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in 2012 and made its production debut in the U.S. on the 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid. Utilizing torque generated by electric motors, Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® is radically different than Acura's mechanical SH-AWD® system. Although both systems feature torque vectoring, the layout, components and operation of Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® are unique and its performance is superior.
Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® System Layout
There are two variations of the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® system, one with the electric motors mounted on the vehicle's rear axle and another with the electric motors on the front axle. On both the 2014-2020 RLX Sport Hybrid and 2017-2020 MDX Sport Hybrid the system's electric motors were in the back. When its electric motors moved up front on the second-generation NSX, first shown at the 2015 NAIAS, Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® reached its highest performance level yet.
Despite the unique layouts, in both variations of Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® primary power comes from a gasoline engine paired with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT). On RLX and MDX, the transmission incorporates an electric motor, while NSX uses a Direct Drive Motor sandwiched between the engine and transaxle that acts directly on the crankshaft. On the RLX and MDX Sport Hybrid, this combination powers the front axles, while it powers the rear axle of the NSX. When needed, the electric motor provides additional power for an effortless feeling of acceleration, regenerative electricity back to the battery, and under certain circumstances, can even power the car solely on electric power, in conjunction with the electric motors in the Twin Motor Unit.
In all three applications, providing power to the other axle is the Twin Motor Unit (TMU), consisting of a pair of electric motors in a single housing. An Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) contains the lithium-ion battery to supply the TMU with electricity, along with the 12-volt DC/DC converter, electronic control units (ECUs) for the three electric motors, and other components.
Common to all three versions of Sport Hybrid SH-AWD®, the TMU features two 36 horsepower electric motors that receive power from the IPU. Although integrated into a single unit, the TMU's two electric motors operate independently from each other and even from the gasoline engine itself, key to the system's torque-vectoring abilities. A one-way clutch can also combine the output of the electric motors when necessary for maximum use of available traction, such as in poor weather conditions.
On RLX and MDX, with the engine and transmission powering the front axle, the TMU provides additional power, optimized traction, and torque vectoring to the rear wheels. Both used a V6 engine with a 7-speed DCT with an integrated electric motor. For the RLX, the 3.5-liter V6 and electric motors combined for a of 377 total system horsepower, while the MDX with its slightly smaller 3.0-liter V6 generated 321 total system horsepower.

CADILLAC CT4-V BLACKWING 2022 arrives with 3.6L twin turbo V6 with 472 hp
With a Cadillac-estimated top speed of 189 mph and track-tailored chassis and suspension features, the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing is a quantifiably quick performance sedan. Its available carbon fiber packages deliver exceptional agility and confidence thanks to the reduction of lift and the increase of downforce they produce.
Both available aero packages were developed using a new five-belt rolling-road wind tunnel at the GM Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, as well as the Windshear wind tunnel used by Cadillac Racing in North Carolina. The result is the highest level of aerodynamic downforce ever produced by a Cadillac V-Series production car.
“Aero performance was key to helping deliver the uniquely agile, engaging driving experience in the CT4-V Blackwing,” said Scott Sier, aerodynamics performance engineer, Cadillac. “Thanks to components like the underwing, we were able to work with design to generate downforce without the use of large wings that didn’t fit with the design.”
The available aero packages are inspired by the multiple-championship-winning Cadillac Racing DPi-V.R race car. Over 500 hours of wind tunnel testing and 300 simulations using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics technology honed the Carbon Fiber packages on CT4-V Blackwing. The use of Virtual Reality headsets also allowed Cadillac engineers to identify opportunities in real-time to exploit additional aerodynamic efficiencies.
The five-belt rolling road wind tunnel at the GM Technical Center allows engineers to spend more time fine-tuning aerodynamic components on full-size vehicles. The five belts provide a more accurate simulation of under-vehicle airflow than previous-generation wind tunnels.
“We set out to create a capable and balanced performance sedan not just with mechanical grip, but aerodynamically as well,” said Tony Roma, chief engineer, Cadillac V-Series Blackwing. “With the CT4-V Blackwing, we create net downforce that is incredibly rare in production vehicles. What this means is that the car gets pressed down into the road the faster you go, giving it more grip, greater stability and inspiring the driver to confidently explore its full capabilities. Not only have we produced our most track-capable sub-compact sedan ever, but we continue to work with our racing counterparts to explore the limits of physics to make better cars.”
In addition to its aerodynamic prowess, the CT4-V Blackwing is driven by an evolution of the Cadillac 3.6L Twin-Turbo V6, which is rated at 472 horsepower (352 kW) and 445 lb-ft of torque (603 Nm). There’s also an advanced, track-tested high-performance braking system, as well as an enhanced electronic limited-slip rear differential, optimized for each driving mode and each Performance Traction Management setting. The CT4-V Blackwing is equipped with a specially tuned fourth-generation Magnetic Ride Control (MR 4.0) as standard.
While initial V-Series Blackwing reservations sold out quickly, a limited supply of vehicles are still available to order. In a first for a rear-wheel drive Nissan vehicle, the 6-speed manual transmission includes an advanced launch assist control system (Performance grade) that helps deliver smooth acceleration from a stopped position. All automatic transmission-equipped models feature the launch control system. Manual-transmission-equipped models also feature a carbon-fiber composite drive shaft and Downshift Rev Matching.
The new, optional 9-speed automatic transmission offers direct and quick response thanks to its wide gear ratios. Drivers can experience a satisfying engagement that keeps the thrill of Z power and performance in sync with the driver.
When it comes to delivering predictable, responsive handling, the engineering team took a multi-prong approach, especially for high-speed driving and cornering. Enhanced body rigidity, an electronic power steering with rack assist and a strong mechanical feel and wider front tires help increase cornering performance up to 13 percent.
Both front and rear dampers use a new monotube shock absorber design with a larger diameter than the outgoing 370Z, resulting in approximately 20 percent reduction in dampening force to help minimize impact shock over uneven surfaces, enhance road-following performance and improved handling stability. The front double-wishbone aluminum suspension features new geometry, including caster angle which has been increased, aiding in straight line stability.

Each model is offered with a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an available 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.
The six-speed manual transmission used with each model features unique gear-cut changes that enhance quietness and durability compared to the previous generation. The available 10-speed automatic has been refined and aggressively tuned for performance driving, with calibrations specific for the power and torque curves of the models’ respective engines.
The first 250 builds of each CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing sold out in only minutes. Cadillac is celebrating these first Collector Series vehicles and the people who built them with two special collector plates on the sills and B-pillars.
Each sill plate features the signature from a member of the Cadillac V-Series team while the Collector Series plate found on the B-pillar corresponds to the serialized Performance Steering Wheel in each car. Also, the CT5-V Blackwing’s hand-built V-8 features a signed engine plaque from the master builder.
The CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing build on Cadillac’s racing heritage and were developed to be track-capable. That involved an intensive validation program, including wind tunnel testing, to ensure consistent performance during the most challenging track conditions.
In fact, functional aerodynamics, including an available carbon fiber aero package, contribute to the V-Series Blackwing models’ track prowess to support a variety of cooling needs for the cars’ respective engines, transmissions, axles and other supporting systems. The aero package on the CT4-V Blackwing delivers the highest downforce in V-Series production history.
Both models also feature advanced high-performance braking systems that have been extensively track- and road-tested, with the CT5-V Blackwing featuring the largest factory-installed brakes in Cadillac history, along with an available lightweight carbon-ceramic brake package offering weight savings, durability and heat management.
Additionally, the new V-Series Blackwing models feature an enhanced Electronic Limited Slip Rear Differential, optimized for each driving mode and each Performance Traction Management setting, as well as fourth-generation Magnetic Ride Control (MR 4.0). Additional improvements to the front and rear suspension systems, compared with previous models, further isolate drivers from road imperfections, while also supporting more precise, engaging connections with the road or track.
The V-Series Blackwings’ capabilities are conveyed to the pavement via MICHELIN® Pilot Sport 4S tires that were developed exclusively for the cars, contributing to their balance of track capability and road comfort.

AUDI RS Q E-TRON Test laboratory for possible future technologies at the Dakar Rally
Clear the stage for an electrifying high-tech test laboratory: just under a year after the initial concept idea, Audi Sport has started testing the new Audi RS Q e-tron, with which Audi will take on one of the greatest challenges there is in international racing in January 2022: the Dakar Rally.
Unique: Audi wants to be the first car manufacturer to use an electrified drivetrain in combination with an efficient energy converter to compete for overall victory against conventionally-powered competitors in the world’s toughest rally. “The quattro was a gamechanger for the World Rally Championship. Audi was the first brand to win the Le Mans 24 Hours with an electrified drivetrain. Now, we want to usher in a new era at the Dakar Rally, while testing and further developing our e-tron technology under extreme conditions,” says Julius Seebach, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH and responsible for motorsport at Audi. “Our RS Q e-tron was created on a blank sheet of paper in record time and stands for Vorsprung durch Technik.”
The characteristics of the Dakar Rally present the engineers with special challenges. The marathon event lasts two weeks and the daily stages are up to 800 kilometers in length. “That’s a very long distance,” says Andreas Roos, responsible for the Dakar project at Audi Sport. “What we are trying to do has never been done before. This is the ultimate challenge for an electric drivetrain.”
Because there are no charging opportunities in the desert, Audi has chosen an innovative charging concept: On board of the Audi RS Q e-tron, there is the highly efficient TFSI engine from the DTM. It is part of an energy converter that charges the high-voltage battery while driving. Since the combustion engine is operated in the particularly efficient range of between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm, the specific consumption is well below 200 grams per kWh.
The drivetrain of the Audi RS Q e-tron is electric. The front and rear axles are both fitted with a motor-generator unit (MGU) from the current Audi e-tron FE07 Formula E car which has been developed by Audi Sport for the 2021 season. Only minor modifications had to be made to use the MGU in the Dakar Rally.
A third MGU, of identical design, is part of the energy converter and serves to recharge the high-voltage battery while driving. In addition, energy is recuperated during braking. The battery weighs about 370 kilograms and has a capacity of around 50 kWh.

Automobili Lamborghini unveils the Countach LPI 800-4: a futuristic limited edition paying homage to the Countach’s iconic status as a revolutionary design and technology rule-breaker and recreated for the 21st century.
Its puristic lines are immediately recognizable from the Countach legacy: the patriarch of modern super sports cars and Lamborghini design. With its aspirated V12 engine combined with Lamborghini’s hybrid supercapacitor technology, the Countach LPI 800-4 retains the inimitable V12 experience and sound from its Longitudinale Posteriore (LP) mounted powerplant combined with the hybrid (I) technology developed for the Sián. The Countach moniker – a fitting expression of surprise and wonder in Piedmontese dialect and pronounced ‘Coon-tach’ – is one of very few Lamborghini model names not connected to bulls.
The Countach’s distinctive silhouette with the essential line running from front to rear, sharp angles and lines and idiosyncratic wedge shape, innovated modern super sports design as well as future Lamborghini models. The Countach LPI 800-4 develops the characteristic lines of the Countach’s five models over nearly 20 years, concentrated into the purest realization of iconic automotive design.
The final outline is pure and uncluttered, with references to the first LP 500 and LP 400 production version. Giving the LPI 800-4 a distinctive Countach face, inspiration was taken from the Quattrovalvole edition in the assertive lines of the front bonnet with long, low rectangular grille and headlights, as well as in the wheel arches with their hexagonal theme. The sharp inclination of the greenhouse adopts the straight lines redolent of the original Countach, adjoining the powerful, clean front-to-rear line. There is no fixed rear wing outside the pure lines, and the airscoops are integrated fluidly in the strong shoulders of the car, embellished with the distinctive Countach slatted ‘gills’. The iconic and aerodynamically powerful NACA air intakes cut into the side and doors of the Countach LPI 800-4 while the distinctive Periscopio lines running through the roof to the rear of the car, particularly distinctive if viewed from above, appear to float towards the rear of the car.
The rear of the Countach LPI 800-4 is immediately recognizable from its distinctive inverted wedge shape, with the rear bumper featuring a lower, sleeker line, and the ‘hexagonita’ design shaping the three-unit rear light clusters. The LPI 800-4 sports the four-strong exhaust tail pipes of the Countach family, connected within the carbon fiber rear diffuser. Access for driver and passenger is of course via the infamous scissor doors, first introduced on the Countach and that have become a Lamborghini V12 signature.

AUDI SKYSPHERE CONCEPT the future is wide open
Audi has unveiled the first member of a new family of concept vehicles, a spectacular roadster. Audi skysphere concept is the name of the electric-powered, two-door convertible whose lines lead directly to the Audi design of tomorrow. With it, the brand is illustrating its vision for the progressive luxury segment of the future, in which the interior becomes an interactive space and the vehicle a platform for captivating experiences. This is being made possible thanks to autonomous driving, a revolutionary redesign of the interior, and a seamless digital ecosystem.
Similar to how the interior design offers a new, contemporary interpretation of luxury, digitization and the ecosystem open up unprecedented levels of freedom and worlds of experience for the vehicle’s passengers. Thanks to Audi’s own services and the ability to integrate digital services, the possibilities are nearly endless. In addition, the passengers can share their experience on the road with friends via social media, with images of the interior and the surrounding area. The vehicle also takes care of everyday tasks that go beyond the ride itself. For example, the autonomous Audi skysphere concept picks up its passengers with information about their current destination and independently handles parking and charging.
The Audi skysphere concept will make its public debut on August 13, 2021, as part of Monterey Car Week – on the legendary fairways of the Pebble Beach golf course. This means the vehicle’s unveiling in California is taking place more or less on its home turf. This is because the concept car was conceived and designed at the Audi Design Studio in Malibu, just a stone’s throw away from the Pacific Coast Highway, the legendary coastal road that connects the suburbs of Los Angeles with northern California. Studio manager Gael Buzyn and his team are the creative minds behind the project. A legendary classic model from the company’s own history – the Horch 853 roadster – served as the inspiration for the new groundbreaking model. The impressive convertible, which is also around 5.20 meters in length, was not only the definition of modern luxury in the 1930s, but also won the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach in 2009.
But the visual inspiration from its predecessor is limited to the concept car’s dimensions and typical proportions with a rather compact cabin and long front end. A look under the hood of the Horch reveals an imposing straight-eight engine with a displacement of 5 liters. The Audi skysphere, on the other hand, mainly has electric drive components between the front axle and the windshield, such as the charger and the DC/DC converter, plus the actuators and electronic and mechanical components for the adaptive wheelbase. It also features a spacious trunk filled with two golf bags specially designed for the concept car.
The Audi skysphere’s active suspension plays a key role in the versatility of the car’s handling characteristics. When simply coasting along, the individual wheels are selectively raised or lowered to compensate for unevenness and undulations in the road surface – the result of a symbiosis between the navigation system’s digital predictions and the active chassis’ sophisticated control and actuation systems. Mounted on aerodynamically styled 23-inch alloy rims, the 285/30 tires strike a perfect balance between suitability for long-distance trips thanks to minimal rolling resistance and a sporty, active driving style with high longitudinal and lateral acceleration.

The powertrain is highlighted with a Chocolate Satin finish on the lightweight magnesium engine covers. Textures, colors, finishes and details were selected to give the Sportster S model the look of a custom show bike that just happens to be parked in the owner’s garage.
The 1250cc Revolution Max 1250T engine is the mechanical heart of the Sportster S model. This new version of the latest Harley-Davidson liquid-cooled V-Twin engine is tuned to make tremendous torque at low RPM, with a torque curve that stays flat through the powerband – engine performance designed to deliver strong acceleration from a start with robust power through the mid-range. To minimize overall motorcycle weight the engine is integrated into the vehicle as the central member of the chassis. The use of lightweight materials helps achieve a desirable power-to-weight ratio. The Sportster S model is equipped with a host of technologies designed to the enhance the riding experience. Three pre-programmed, selectable Ride Modes (Sport, Road and Rain) electronically control the performance characteristics of the motorcycle, and the level of technology intervention. Two Custom modes may be used by the rider to create a set of performance characteristics to meet personal preference or for special situations. Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson®, a collection of technologies intended to enhance rider confidence during unexpected situations or adverse road conditions, are designed to match motorcycle performance to available traction during acceleration, deceleration and braking, in a straight line or while in a turn.
The Sportster® S model is equipped with fully adjustable, premium front and rear suspension – SHOWA® 43mm inverted cartridge forks and a SHOWA® Piggyback reservoir rear shock. Rear suspension features hydraulic pre-load adjustment using a convenient knob located on the left side of the motorcycle. Lightweight cast aluminum wheels with a staggered, five-spoke design are shod with wide Dunlop®/Harley-Davidson® Series GT503 tires. Premium Brembo braking components produce outstanding braking feel and performance. The single front brake features a new Brembo radial monoblock four-piston caliper and a 320mm diameter disc. FIAT 500E ICON a small electric car with 320 km range
Today in Milan, the New 500, FCA's first fully electric car was presented. It will change the rules of the game for zero-emissions vehicles.
To picture the future of the 500, the Fiat brand started from what made it what it is. The same was true of the first generation, which offered mobility and freedom in the 1960s. The 500 represented a sea change, and became a much-loved brand. A car that was always on the crest of the wave, and that has established itself as an icon since its debut, 63 years ago.
With the second generation, launched in 2007, the Fiat 500 introduced the concept of coolness and charm to the city car, becoming an icon of Italian fashion and style that conquered the world. An ever-evolving model that has inspired artists and musicians over the past thirteen years, and has been the linchpin of more than 30 special series.
Now, in 2020, a new era is coming, and it is time for the Fiat 500 to use all its popularity to inspire change and become part of the solution.
Real masterpieces of Italian ingenuity to the extent of a great work of art, the three One-offs were produced with the will and commitment to make more use of sustainable, natural and recycled materials.
This strategy aimed at improving the Planet also includes a charity auction. All the proceeds from the sale of the three unique models – the 500 Giorgio Armani, the B.500 “MAI TROPPO” by Bvlgari and the 500 Kartell – will go to one of Leonardo Di Caprio's environmental organizations.
When designing the New 500, the engineers started with a blank sheet of paper, so they could work on every aspect with the utmost attention to detail and choose the best solutions.
Range and charging times are two key issues for customers. The lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 42 kWh give the New 500 a range of up to 320 km in the WLTP cycle.
To optimize charging time, the New 500 is equipped with an 85 kW fast charger system to charge the battery very quickly. For example, it takes only 5 minutes to build up a sufficient energy reserve to travel 50 kilometers, more than is needed for average daily use.
Home charging solutions are also available. The launch edition of the new 500 includes the easyWallbox, a home charging system that can be connected to a normal home outlet. ENGIE EPS developed this exclusively for FCA, and it will be marketed by Mopar in Europe to coincide with the launch of the model. It is a simple, accessible “plug-and-charge” solution that can be managed easily via Bluetooth, letting you stabilize your energy load by charging your 500 immediately at home with up to 2.3 kW of charging power, with no need for any intervention by skilled personnel. Moreover, the easyWallbox is ready for a power upgrade to 7.4 kW, providing a full charge at home in just over 6 hours. The model also comes with a Mode 3 cable for charging from the public mains.
The New 500 has three driving modes: Normal, Range and Sherpa, which can be selected to match your driving style.
“Normal” mode is as close as possible to driving a vehicle with a normal combustion engine, while “Range” mode activates the “one-pedal-drive” function. By selecting this driving mode, you can practically drive the New 500 with the accelerator pedal alone. In fact, releasing it causes much greater deceleration than with a normal combustion engine, almost as if you had pushed the brake pedal. In any event, you need to push the brake pedal to bring the car to a complete stop. However, in daily use and with more practice, you can eventually learn to drive it using the accelerator pedal only.
The engine has an output of 87 kW, providing a maximum speed of 150 km/h (self-limited) and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 9.0 seconds and 0-50 km/h in 3.1 seconds.

Thanks to its standard pop-up roof and two sleeping areas (up top and down below), the California transforms itself from MPV into motor home in an instant.
The new California 6.1 is distinguished by a new front end that adds more visual appeal and gives the whole vehicle a more dynamic appearance. On the range-topping Ocean model, the grille is embellished with four chrome strips and is framed with new LED daytime running lights. Coast models have two chrome strips. Both models feature a new bumper design that has a larger grille element and fog lights incorporated into the lower section.
The California 6.1 features an all-new camper control unit with touchscreen in the roof console. All camper functions are managed via the digitalised control unit. Another distinctive feature of the interior of both models is a redesigned dash panel with Digital Cockpit (standard on Ocean). Enhanced infotainment systems ensure optimum connectivity and thanks to an online connectivity unit (OCU) with integrated eSIM, they provide access to the new spectrum of We Connect Plus mobile online services and functions.
The California 6.1 introduces a new electro-mechanical power steering system that can be actively controlled by the vehicle’s new safety and assistance systems. The extended range of systems includes Lane Assist, Park Assist, a side protection function (warns of obstacles when manoeuvring) and Trailer Assist (simplifies manoeuvring with a trailer). Also included is Cross Wind Assist; it automatically stabilises the camper in the event of strong winds. Being offered as an option is the DCC Adaptive Chassis Control system.
UK customers can choose between two California models: Coast and Ocean. Both versions are equipped with rear cupboards and a row of kitchen units made largely of lightweight aluminium. These fixtures, with a compact, clear design, have been further enhanced and equipped with new details such as an additional double USB socket. The kitchen doors feature new aluminium handles while new push buttons for the kitchen surface cover have also been introduced.
As before, both versions of the California 6.1 feature a pop-up roof. The Ocean has an electro-hydraulic motor and large front opening as standard, which can be completely unzipped to facilitate sleeping under an open sky. Optimum protection from incoming light is provided by the pop-up roof’s now darker grey (Basalt Grey) canvas sides. As an option the canvas sides are available in Glacier Blue and Strawberry Red. The Coast model features a manually-operated pop-up roof with two side windows. Both models feature a new bed with a sprung base rather than a slatted frame. Down below in the living space there is another sleeping area.
The California 6.1 is available with a 2.0-litre TDI engine with outputs of 150 PS and 199 PS. Both drive through a seven-speed DSG transmission as standard. The entry-level Coast model is available with a 150 PS engine only, with the Ocean coming with the additional option of a BiTDI 199 PS version. 4MOTION all-wheel drive can also be specified on the 199 PS engine. Both California 6.1 TDI engines fulfil the latest Euro 6d TEMP EAVP ISC emissions standard.

It is locally emission-free and almost silent. It combines the tried and tested platform of the Mercedes-Benz city bus with new technological solutions. The fully electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro brings electromobility for city buses to a whole new level. The new eCitaro uses innovative components only now available for the first time for the eCitaro to achieve a hitherto unknown degree of energy efficiency. The performance of the eCitaro meets most of the requirements of the transport companies even at launch. It is also already prepared for the battery technology of the future. Its design allows the basic shape of the Citaro to merge with elements of the Mercedes-Benz Future Bus into a distinct visual appearance of its own. And it’s more than a city bus: Mercedes-Benz takes a holistic approach to electromobility and integrates the eCitaro into the overall system of e-mobility.
The eCitaro impresses with its performance and comes at precisely the right time. Although it only celebrated its world premiere last autumn at the International Commercial Vehicle Show, it is already out and about on the roads of Hamburg, Berlin, Mannheim and Heidelberg. Mercedes-Benz recently received a major order for 56 eCitaro vehicles from Wiesbaden. It is the largest individual order ever received in Germany for all-electric buses. Mercedes‑Benz is optimistic that further successes will soon follow. A fleet of demonstration buses which is currently demonstrating the eCitaro's qualities to transport companies on location in Europe will play a part in this.
The eCitaro benefits from the platform of the bestselling Citaro with more than 50,000 units sold all over the world. The eCitaro is a true Citaro – but a very special one; because its unique characteristics match its equally unique design.
This is already evident in the face of the eCitaro. The centre-point is the Mercedes star. Decorative elements emanate from the star, to the left and right. The model insignia with its blue letter “e” discreetly and yet unmistakably indicates the fully electric drive technology. The bumper and the model-specific three-dimensional A0 pillars neatly frame the face of the eCitaro. Another feature of the city bus is the curve of its windscreen with the integrated destination display. Visually, the windscreen smoothly transitions into the roof with dark bars on the left and right.
The roof-mounted equipment on the eCitaro is concealed behind an elegant roof-edge ridge made of a multi-piece extruded aluminium section. The glossy black lower segment extends the generous side-window glazing of the city bus. The upper segment is painted in the vehicle colour. These optical tricks lend the eCitaro perfect proportions.
Overall, the eCitaro sports a solid appearance with clearly drawn contours and no showmanship whatsoever. At the same time, the new eCitaro is a truly practical bus. The eCitaro adopts the structure of the current model unchanged, a crucial factor in facilitating the repair of accident damage, for example. The curved windscreen comes from the Citaro Ü and is thus a common spare part. The roof-edge ridge at the sides is not only a two-part design, it is also segmented.
In the passenger compartment, the eCitaro rings in a general update of the interior of the entire Citaro family of models. A stand-out feature in the interior is the coffered design ceiling above the centre aisle and the sweeping roof-edge flaps. They hide a new air circulation system with textile ducts in place of the current plastic air ducts. They are even easier and simpler to install.

Belonging to the “squad” of products that guarantees JAC Motors' leading role in this newly created market segment, the medium/large SUV is firmly committed to a very objective triad: absolutely contemporary design, high technology and cost-effectiveness.
Capable of running 420 km with a full charge, which gives, on average, a consumption of 13 kWh per 100 km, the E-JS4 is one of the most efficient and economical electric models in the world. To recharge it completely, considering the average fare cost of BRL 0.60 per kWh, the owner of the model will pay BRL 7.80 per 100 km (equivalent to 1.3 liter of gasoline per 100 km! !). “Fill the tank” for this amount and run 420 km means, in general terms, a cost per km run six times lower than a model with a heat engine!
Equipped with batteries with a maximum load capacity of 55 kWh, with a cooling system, capable of maintaining operating efficiency by not allowing high or low external temperatures to interfere in the modules, JAC's medium/large 100% electric SUV has a motor with 150 hp of power and 340 Nm of torque.
With this recipe, even having a running order weight of 1,680 kg, the E-JS4 is extremely efficient and guarantees exciting performance. The model delivers vigorous sprints, practically matching it to sports cars. As is well known, 100% electric drive units guarantee maximum torque in any situation. It's the so-called “flat torque”, that is, you'll have 340 Nm from the moment you start the car. The result: it takes just 7.5 seconds to get out of mobility and reach 100 km/h.
When it was designed at the JAC Design Center in Italy, with Volkswagen's full supervision in the development, the SUV brought the needs of a medium/large model into use, including the aggressive and contemporary design to several finishing details that denote a superior class .
Its design is unique, unmistakable, authentic. It is a beautiful car, full of personality, and that will attract attention not only for the originality of the lines. And yes for having a result of extreme good taste. With a hint of a futuristic model, the E-JS4 adopts a front look completely different from any other SUV on sale in Brazil, be it thermal or electric: the optical group is divided into two segments, with the narrow taillights being responsible for accommodating the LED daytime running lights (DRL system as standard). With an inverted “V” shape, they add authenticity. In the center, the grille is wide, prominent, and straight cut, as befits an imposing SUV. At the ends of this grille, the complement of the optical group brings the headlamps.
On the side, the JAC E-JS4 received wheels with a new design, which is exactly what differentiates it from the T60 Plus, version with heat engine. The rear displays the same organic detail that forms the inverted “V” of the front lamps, where the design of the optical assembly adopts an end pointing downwards. To unite the two taillights, the brand's Design department made use of a reflective ruler between them.
The entire internal part of the E-JS4 was redesigned from the model that served as the base. The Digital Active Info Display instrument panel, with TFT screen, offers three display modes, selected by a button on the steering wheel. As a finishing differential, the JAC E-JS4 incorporates piano black bezels that surround the front panel, composing a visibly tasteful backdrop with the leather-covered surfaces (soft touch). The climate module has a touch center.

Equipped with a 294 kW (400 ) five-cylinder, the high-performance engine delivers rapid acceleration with a highly intoxicating sound. The power unit now delivers 500 Nm of torque and responds even faster. Visually, the RS 3 demonstrates its sporty DNA with a widened body, RS sports exhaust system, and cockpit displays like those found in race cars.
With its five-cylinder, high-performance engine, the Audi RS 3 is one-of-a-kind in the segment. The 2.5 TFSI has won the “International Engine of the Year” award nine times in a row. In the latest generation of the compact sports car, the engine is now more powerful than ever before. The new RS 3 models sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. Their top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but 280 km/h is also available as an optional upgrade. With the RS Dynamic package and ceramic brakes, they can even reach a top speed of 290 km/h. This makes the Audi RS 3 the best in its class in terms of acceleration and top speed. This is primarily due to the 500 Nm increase in torque, which is available between 2,250 and 5,600 rpm. That is equal to 20 Nm more than its predecessor. As a result, the Audi RS 3 accelerates even faster from low rev ranges.
The engine's maximum power of 294 kW (400 ) is available earlier than before at 5,600 rpm and extends over a broad plateau to 7,000 rpm. A new engine control unit also increases the speed at which all of the drive components communicate with each other.
A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is what puts the power of the five-cylinder engine to the pavement – with short shifting times and a sportier gear ratio spread. The engine’s unique 1‑2‑4‑5-3 ignition sequence and the incomparable sound that comes with it make the driving experience that much more exhilarating. For the first time, the exhaust system features a fully variable flap control system that supports intermediate positions, thus broadening the sound characteristics even further. It can be adjusted via the driving dynamics system Audi drive select. In the Dynamic and RS Performance modes, for example, the flaps open much earlier – the emotional elements of the sound are even more pronounced. In addition, the unmistakable sound of the five-cylinder engine is further enhanced by the optional RS sports exhaust system.
The new Audi RS 3 is the first Audi model that comes standard-equipped with a torque splitter. It replaces the rear axle differential and the previous multiple disc clutch package on the rear axle. Instead, an electronically controlled multiple disc clutch is used on each of the drive shafts. This ensures that the right amount of torque is optimally distributed along the rear axle. During more dynamic driving, the torque splitter increases the drive torque to the outer rear wheel with the higher wheel load, which significantly reduces the tendency to understeer. In left-hand curves, it transmits the drive torque to the right rear wheel, in right-hand curves to the left rear wheel, and when driving straight ahead to both wheels.
