Christine for CCISD: Taxpayers Can't Afford Bond-and-Spend Status Quo
Taxpayers don't want to write a blank check to Clear Creek ISD, and they shouldn't have to. But every few years, Clear Creek ISD asks voters to approve a new bond package -- extra taxes supposedly intended for capital improvements. And the ugly truth? CCISD's Board of Trustees can use bond money on a whim to fund whatever they want -- and they often do.
In this video, Christine reveals when bond funds were used for reasons other than taxpayer-approved projects, and she outlines exactly what she will do -- with your vote -- to end CCISD's out-of-control bond-and-spend culture.

Christine for CCISD: High-Quality Education Demands High Standards
Clear Creek ISD's current Board of Trustees believes it isn't important to measure the district against Texas's statewide guidelines. That's because those ratings show too many of CCISD's schools are headed in the wrong direction.
Schools must prepare students for life's opportunities and challenges after graduation, whether that means college, a trade or vocational career, the military, or their own unique path. In this video, Christine explains why high standards are a critical component of success for every student.
Safely Reopen CCISD Public Input
It's hard to fathom now, but in July, reopening brick-and-mortar learning was controversial in CCISD. In this video, Christine addresses the Safely Reopen committee, using scientific studies and statistics, to advocate for school reopening.

Christine for CCISD: Striving for World-Class Special Education
Few understand the challenges and shortcomings of Clear Creek ISD's special education program like parent DeAnna Scott. Her son Jonah, now a senior in high school, has been in the program since Kindergarten, and he faced many struggles. That's why she is uniquely qualified to identify areas where CCISD can improve.
In this video, Christine sits down with DeAnna to discuss how Jonah is doing today, which CCISD educators went above and beyond for Jonah, and what specific programs and improvements the district should implement in order to provide world-class special education, and ensure success for every student.
Christine for CCISD: Special Education, A Mother's Story
Today Jonah Scott is a senior in high school, but his journey through the Clear Creek ISD special education program has been a difficult one, particularly during elementary school.
In this special Christine for CCISD video, Jonah's mother, DeAnna Scott, recounts the struggles her son has faced throughout his time in CCISD.
She explains the impact of a CCISD special education system that is more interested in moving kids aside than teaching them the essential knowledge to pass state exams. She also details some of the many times Jonah was bullied, ignored, and even mistreated by CCISD teachers and administrators. Finally she recounts her battle with CCISD leadership, and how she had to go all the way to the top to get Jonah the resources he needed.

Clear Creek ISD Special Education: It's Time for Change
For too long, students in Clear Creek ISD's special education program have been second-class citizens: ignored, unwanted, or even abused. Despite pleas from parents, and even formal recommendations from an independent consulting firm, the District 5 incumbent and his fellow members of the Board of Trustees have done little to improve special education.
In this video, Christine explains her plan to improve special services in CCISD, and why she's committed to being the voice for families and students with special needs. A vote for Christine for District 5 Trustee is a vote to ensure CCISD special education students receive a first-class education.

Redistricting Lessons Learned: A Parent's Recommendations for Clear Creek ISD
School boundary redistricting is a complicated process, and when the outcome means children must change schools, that can affect the trajectory of a child's entire education. In past redistricting cycles, Clear Creek ISD has prioritized its own needs ahead of those of its students, and its Board of Trustees has done little to ensure the process benefits students and parents.
In this video, CCISD Board of Trustees Candidate Christine Parizo discusses how the district can improve future redistricting efforts with Karen Braquet, a CCISD parent whose own children were negatively affected by the district's 2019 school boundary changes.
They discuss the importance of accurate growth projection research, campus facilities conditions, and frequent and early communications with the community, as well as the critical role trustees play in soliciting and sharing parent feedback during the process.

Why CCISD's Redistricting Process Must Consider Parent Concerns
Clear Creek ISD's controversial 2019 school attendance zone redistricting process had a dramatic impact on the west side of League City. Many parents felt that their children suffered as a result of the changes, and that their concerns were never really taken seriously by district leaders, including the Board of Trustees.
In this video, one parent shares the story of how her family was negatively affected by the redistricting, why she feels CCISD wasn't interested in ideas that could have improved the redistricting plan, and why she believes Christine for CCISD is the change District 5 needs on the Board of Trustees.
Clear Creek ISD Cybersecurity Strategy Doesn't Make the Grade
Ransomware and other harmful cybersecurity threats happen all the time, wreaking havoc in organizations of all sizes, including school districts.
Unfortunately, Clear Creek ISD's Board of Trustees has done little to prioritize cybersecurity, and the ramifications could be disastrous.
In this video, Christine explains why cybersecurity is so important, where ransomware has already harmed school districts across Texas, and how her cybersecurity plan will ensure that CCISD is ready to prevent and respond to all kinds of cyberattacks.
Why Clear Creek ISD needs to improve disciplinary policy, grievance process
Clear Creek ISD disciplinary policies should be applied fairly for all students, and give kids the benefit of the doubt whenever possible.
But too often, the ramifications of rash disciplinary decisions are amplified by an appeals process that is not only hard to navigate, but also places the district's interests over those of its students.
In this video, District 5 Board of Trustees Candidate Christine Parizo discusses CCISD's policy shortcomings and opportunities for change with Paulette Roberson, whose grandson James Collins was twice falsely accused of wrongdoing by district administrators. Roberson believes CCISD often disciplines African-American students at a higher rate, and that the current Board of Trustees isn't addressing disciplinary inconsistencies.

A Grandmother's Story: Paulette Roberson on CCISD's Mistreatment of James Collins
This campaign isn't about my story; it's about your stories. Too many students and families have been treated unjustly by CCISD, and it has to stop.
In this video, Paulette Roberson shares the story of her grandson James Collins, who was falsely accused of misconduct by CCISD administrators - TWICE - and her fight for justice on his behalf. I am honored to have Paulette's support in this race. I pledge that, as a member of the CCISD Board of Trustees, I will make sure students are always treated fairly, and that I will listen to and fight for the students and families I represent.
Paulette and James inspired me to get in this race, and I hope you'll come to admire their courage and determination as much as I do.

Christine for CCISD: Why Critical Race Theory has no place in our schools
Curriculum should always be fact-based and teacher-driven. It should never include divisive political ideology. That’s why I believe Critical Race Theory or #CRT has no place in Clear Creek ISD. If you agree, pledge your support for Christine for CCISD in the May 1 election for CCISD Board of Trustees, District 5!
