In this video I describe how Neck Tension is related to consistent velocities and what tools can be used to help achieve low SD and ES when making ammo. Tools that I use: Forster Bushing dies, iGaging Ball Micrometer and K&M neck turning kit. These tools are all related to the amount of force that "holds the bullet" in the case. Just one more thing to be more consistent and get better results when making match ammo.

In this video I shoot the Pokemon Rifle out to 1000 and 1250 yards. Shooting 220ELDX over 7828SSC at mild velocities. It has been almost a year since I have last shot this rifle . It's certainly not the best shooting, but I was glad to just get some rounds downrange under the sun. I decided to up the game a bit and took a pistol and rifle to the range on the Schwinn Homegrown. Route was over Mt. Sano, across town and to the indoor range (11.5 miles one way). Weather was ~85. It was a bit heavy but totally doable. To the point I stayed clipped in on the uphill climb both ways (no dabs, no rest stops). Groups were decent, but not spectacular. Guns were the Sar P8L(CZ clone), and the Ruger PCC. Ammo was custom 124 PD over n320 in shock cases. Please comment on what shotgun I should add to the mix next time. I also have some other weight training ideas for the hill climb. I smile at the thought of more of a challenge. I only saw about 5 people willingly bearing the heat Sun Morning brunchtime. I congratulated each one on their perseverance.

Rifles: 6.5CM Ruger America Predator Rebuild and use during 600yd match. Zeroed @750, New SWFA 20fixed, MDT LSS-XL Chassis, MDT Folding Buttstock: 300PRC Pokemon Rifle - zeroed @ 100/600 - confirmed dope and base return to zero. 1917 Eddystone - Reclaimed sporter upgraded with the Nikon BukmasterII scope and got BDC holds from 100/500 yds. Pistols: Ruger/Tandemkross Kraken MkIV frame with Madmaccs 16" upper and Holosun 507 green ring. played on the rimfire range (25/50/75) yds. CZ97 cleaned and ran better but still some ammo issues. Quick update on the RAP build. The MDT folding chassis is now cradling the Ruger Action. Since the Orex was not in stock I opted to the "cry production once" and got the LSS XL chassis in Coyote Tan with folding adapter. Grip and tube buttstock on the way. I was going to finalize the length of the Carbon Fiber Tube Buttstock today but then realized that really depended on the grip. So more wait. Background is an old 48 star flag and Pointer is a SA 1908 16" Rifle Sword. Have a great week!

Range review from 2/20/22 : Shot the CZ 97 and had feeding issues. Still can't tell if the gun just needs cleaned or ammo (reload issue) or both. New glass on the Ruger American Predator (RAP) - SWFA 20x fixed zeroed at 100yds in 2 shots. Got chrono data for 3 different ammo batches - 143ELDX over H4350, 140Barnes, and 123Flatline copper solids going Faaaast. Then confirmed zeron on the 300PRC and got some chrono data for it. Mostly a good day!

Just a quick overview of the rifle that got me into long range shooting and reloading. It has had a number of optics and has spewn about 3,000 rounds down the tube. Longest so far was with Berger 130s running fasssst and an Ivey adjustable scope base with Sightron Siii 10-50 target scope. I will be building/modding this rifle a bit more for 600/1000 matches - but I need a new optic so feel free to tell me what you think I need to get.

Which Ruger Pistol would you use for a .22 Rimfire Bowling Pin match? Which would you use for a Bullseye Match? Correction - MK4 golf ball was on the 50yd berm not the 200 yd berm.

*Note: I do not fault the Comp Mfg for this not working as it is not designed for this gun but we run what we run so... Trying a new comp on the CZ SP-01 Open Race Gun. TLDR: It came out of time with 30 rounds or minor loads so back to the drawing board. Tested at local Bullseye match where the BullShadow SAO shot like a dream. I also used only NAS3 cases and thus swept my brass up like Magneto after the match (I count that as a win).
