Messages That Matter

I wrote this song after reading the Parable of the Ten Virgins told by Jesus Christ in Matthew 25:1-12. Through this parable, Jesus teaches His disciples and followers to be ready for His imminent return. He warns them (and us) that those who are ready when He returns will go into the marriage supper of the Lamb in heaven. He also clearly states that those who are not ready for His return will be knocking uselessly on the other side of the door. According to Jesus, they will say, "Lord, Lord, -- open the door for us!" And much to their surprise in this parabolic teaching, Jesus says, "Truly I tell you, I don't know you." Then He said to them, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour." This song is about shining the light of God's hope into the invading darkness. It's about encouraging God's people to stand in God's love, strength, courage, and biblical promises. I believe you’d agree we’re living in notably dark and challenging times. Many are struggling with the changes in the world and are searching for light in the darkness and hope to lift them. In these difficult times, God calls the followers of Jesus Christ to be the light of the world. Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). It’s time to shine for God! I pray this video of my song Darkness is Invading encourages you to be who God called you to be. I encourage you to rediscover your calling and God’s faithfulness through times of prayer, worship, and studying and standing on God's Word, the Bible. Amen!
