We take on new animals on the farm as a dear friend could not care for them anymore. But new animals sometimes mean trouble on the farm as everyone has to adjust. It is key to try an integrate as safely as possible. We also show part of a new build for the cows. Enjoy as we enjoy life on the farm.

As we continue our journey to a more self sustaining lifestyle, we are now looking towards the future, and it's not going to be in California. Join us as we begin our search for property that will fit our needs, as we move towards full time homesteading. Also, some chores and small projects get done on a beautiful Sunday.

We have been away for a bit without any videos but we are still here. With camera issues and a busy life, time has not permitted for video and editing, but we have a catch up video. So much going on in this video. Introducing new cows and newly born KuneKune piglets. We struggle to load up the cows as we try to get the animals to safety. This video catches the many emotions that come with life on the ranch. Good times, stressful times, hardworking times, and even times where you think you may lose it all. Enjoy!

As we struggle to continue this busy life of ours, full time jobs while trying to jump start the wonderful life of farming and self-sustaining. With the continued growth of our farm, comes more work to done. Flagstone is a huge undertaking and it will be worth it when finished. Watch as we continue to press forward with long haul projects as well as unexpected projects.

Times have been busy here on and off the farm. Having the time to sit and work on the Vlog's is getting tougher and tougher, but as times continues to pass, we are slowly finding our rhythm and will be back on track soon. In this video, we introduce another cow to the farm which is a step closer to living self sustaining. We also had our first big chicken harvest, which was fun yet very tough, emotionally and physically. Enjoy!

We are excited to welcome KuneKune Pigs to our farm. We also move the Meat Birds outside. Lot's of things happening in this video as we address where to keep our new KuneKune Pigs. We quickly learn they are escape artist and once again, I have to wrangle up some pigs. It has been a few weeks since we have uploaded a video as it has been difficult to manage our growing farm as well as full time jobs. Not too mention a little Bronchitis bug mixed in the middle of it. Thank you all for sticking with us and we will continue to press forward to get as many videos out as possible. Having chickens is an ever evolving project. There are constant challenges with keeping a happy and healthy flock whether it's the constant upkeep with the chicken coop itself. The constant renovations, extensions, adjustments, etc... In this video we renovate the inside of the chicken coop to make it more efficient and clean. We found some great Nesting Bucket toppers from "Happy Hen" and they have turned out great. Enjoy and we have fun turning our chicken coop into the chicken coop of our dreams...

We had a nice easy weekend on the farm. Made a patience Pole for T-Rex, probably not the most ideal patience pole for your professional horse trainer but it will do the job for what we need. Saved som e money on feed by buying grain in bulk from a grain mill. Still having camera issues and lost some footage of me finishing the patience pole.

We we so blessed to be welcomed at Lovacres Ranch where Angie came across T-Rex! They both quickly connected and we couldn't leave without him! Lovacres Ranch gave us a grand tour of their entire 600 acres ranch with over 300 thoroughbred horses. Enjoy this short video of us welcoming T-Rex to his new home.

Had some pallets laying around and decided to use them for a pig shelter. Used the Japanese method for treating wood, "Shou Sugi Ban" on the pallets. Trimmed the hooves on Tigg as he was not walking very well. Also, moved Elvira our cow to a much better spot with natural shade covering from trees and bushes. I know its been a few weeks since we have put out a video and we thank you for sticking with us. We had some unfortunate situation that took us away from the farm for a couple of weeks, and had some camera issues as GoPro continues to become our least favorite camera. Enjoy!

The Guinea's have been in their new enclosure all together for a week and it's time to let them do what they do best, roam freely and be the feathered watchdogs of the farm. I also relocate a water spout and lines along with an automatic waterer. Enjoy...

Time is limited on the Farm. With full time jobs, farm work can be a juggling act sometimes. We do what we can, when we can. I finally finished a long awaited project. Enjoy this quick video of the completion of the guinea fowl enclosure.

We celebrate New Years Eve very quietly with great food and family. Some of the most memorable times are spent at home just hanging around the kitchen. I also finally get started on the guinea enclosure and make some great progress on it. Angie goes through a detailed process of how to render your own fat. This is fat from our very own pigs that we raised and harvested ourselves. This fat can be rendered down too lard and used for cooking, frying, and even baking. This is much healthier than anything you buy from the grocery store. It's Christmas time and not much moving with projects. Heavy rains have slowed down any progress around the farm so we slow down to enjoy family time.

It was a difficult day on the farm when it came time to harvest two of our pigs. It was sad, overwhelming, and extremely difficult knowing that you are ending a precious life. Our pigs had amazing lives and we are grateful for their sacrifice. We also deal with a pig in heat, AGAIN... She is an escape artist. Thanksgiving was a bit of a challenge as the power company decided to shut off everyones power. All the more reason to go off grid! Watch as I learn to wire up the generator to the well pump. We also had a small issue with our Guinea Fowls as they are a bit rough on the hens. I go through my pig feed mixture and formula. A lot going on with this video.

Pig's tend to cause havoc on a farm. They are destructive and if allowed, they will tear everything up. Woke up early morning only to find out the pigs have broken through the fencing. My electric low line has been shorting out and the pigs figured it out. Plans change suddenly on the farm. Flagstone project once again is delayed. Enjoy as I do damage control on the farm. Enjoy!

We had some fun with our rural community as we partake in our annual Halloween Trunk or Treat. We love trick or treating and cannot contain our inner child from coming out. Also, our farrier came to the farm to tend to our horses. Finally, we play around with the chicken run as we continue to beautify the coop and keep the chickens happy with setting up little playgrounds. Enjoy!

have been getting some much needed rain so we took the opportunity to drag the riding area in order to soften the dirt. Not much going as Angie had surgery on both hands so the kids came by to help out with some farm work. I thanked them with some fall off the bone smoked baby back ribs.

We are one step closer to our ultimate goal which is living self sustainable. We bought a cow! She is a Brahma heifer that is pregnant. She was impregnated by a Red Angus Steer so the baby will be a "Brangus". We plan to keep Elvira (the cow) and raise the baby for food. We also contacted a local donut maker in town for their leftover donuts. Pigs love the donuts and apparently it makes the meat a bit sweeter?? We shall see, only time will tell.
