Episode 9 - SCORE Motorsports
When his once-promising career in the NASCAR Busch Series stalled, Hermie Sadler used both his many passions and his business acumen to build a new Cup Series program from the ground up. Whether flying the flag as Virginia’s favorite son, as an advocate for Autism research, or simply as a fan of professional wrestling, Hermie soon joined his brother Elliott as a Cup Series driver. But it wasn’t until the 2004 season that Hermie finally had the chance to run full-time, and with it the opportunity to take his team in a new direction.

The Story of Larry Foyt
A few years before NASCAR’s “open wheel invasion” came Larry Foyt, the adopted son of four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt. Early in his own racing career, Larry would be steered away from the IRL and into the seat of a stock car. And when A.J. restarted his Cup Series team, it seemed only a matter of time before Larry would drive. That time would arrive much sooner than both driver and team had anticipated, culminating in one of the most frustrating rookie campaigns in the history of the series. This is that story.

Apologies for the static in the audio. My recorder was on its last legs, and has since been retired. I ran this clip through multiple filters to reduce the effects where possible. I will be recording future interviews with a new recorder.

The Story of Gary Bradberry
In his brief NASCAR Cup Series career, Gary Bradberry had one of the most statistically unique in the sport’s recent history. Characterized by surprising qualifying runs for long-struggling single-car teams, Bradberry left a unique mark on the sport that can only be appreciated when looking back on it.
Special thanks to LASTCAR.info supporter John P. who suggested the subject of this video, and to Bryan Hallman at the BRH Racing Archives for sharing his incredible photo collection.
