A bit more information about the delay: Part of this was just misjudged planning on my part. Part of it has to do with domestic disruption related to lockdowns, and another part is that it's been a struggle to work with Blender. I expected some friction there; the Grease Pencil part of the program I'm using is still pretty new. But I expected the feature set to be closer to 'production ready' than it turned out to be. The blender developers I've been in contact with are very helpful and bugs tend to get fixed pretty quickly, so there are fewer stumbling blocks as times moves on.
