When Cock Robin is found dead with an arrow in him, Pete arrests the bow-carrying Oswald. Then there is a trial in this excellent Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon from Walter Lantz.
The trial, which is the main part of this cartoon, is a lot of fun. It is paced like a burlesque routine, or perhaps a Marx Brothers skit. Like the best of the Walter Lantz Oswalds, it is an intensely silly effort, offered with an air of people just having a good time thinking up what can be done next.

The short opens to an orchestral rendition of Stephen Foster's "Old Folks at Home", immediately setting the scene in the rural South of blackface minstrelsy. The setting is Lazy Town, perhaps the laziest place on earth. Neither the town's residents (all stereotypes of African-Americans) nor the animals can be bothered to leave their reclining positions to do anything at all. Their pastoral existence is interrupted by the arrival of a riverboat, carrying a svelte, sophisticated, light-skinned woman from Harlem (who bears a resemblance to Lena Horne),[3] whose physical beauty inspires the entire populace of an all-black "Lazy Town" to spring into action.
The visiting urbanite admonishes one of the town's residents her mother, "Listen, Mammy. That ain't no way to wash clothes! What you all need is rhythm!" She then proceeds to sing "Scrub Me Mama with a Boogie Beat", which the townsfolk slowly join her in performing. Thus begins a montage which is the short's centerpiece. The townsfolk are infected by the song's rhythm and proceed to go about playing instruments, and dancing suggestively. By the time the young light-skinned lady from Harlem is due to get on her riverboat and return home, she has succeeded in turning Lazy Town into a lively community of swing musicians simply by singing. The cartoon concludes with the mammy washerwoman bending over, displaying the words "The End" across her buttocks.

The Cobweb Hotel is a 1936 American short film directed by Dave Fleischer and Max Fleischer and is one of the short films that belongs to the Color Classics film series. Animated by David Tendlar and William Sturm The setting is said to be one of the Fleischer's desks, which the spider used to open the hoax hotel.
The cartoon starts off with a devious spider (voiced by Jack Mercer) who holds many fly captives in the rooms of "The Cobweb Hotel" and sees a newly married couple of flies booking a room into the fake hotel. After they discover the trap, the female fly gets ensnared in one of the spider's webs, and the male fly fights with the spider being a "flyweight champion". However, he too becomes stuck in a web during the match.
Meanwhile, his wife wriggles herself free from the web and gives freedom to all the captives, who torment the spider by flicking several sharp pen heads and firing many aspirin pills at the spider. After paying revenge to the spider, the couple hold another wedding ceremony, followed by the other captives of the hotel, until the ending scene rolls in.

A mother parrot in a cage is teaching her three children to say, "Polly want a cracker." The first two kids, Patrick and Patricia, do so after some effort, but Peter boldly refuses, pointing at a framed photo of his dad he states, "I don't want a cracker! I wanna be a sailor, like me pop." His mother immediately begins deriding her husband, telling Peter that right after he and his siblings were born, their dad had set sail for Hawaii ("No, Maw, it was Catalina," Dad, as she remembers him, reminds her). She tells her son, "I used to burn a little light in the window" (it was actually a searchlight), hoping for his dad's return, but he never did come back.
Nonetheless, Peter stubbornly stomps off to become a sailor. He bumps into a barrel, from which he builds a ship with a red pajama for a sail and a skull-and-crossbones label from a poison bottle for a Jolly Roger flag. He joins forces with an annoyingly loquacious duck (whom he silences by clamping his beak shut with a clothespin), and the two set sail on the lake - Peter as captain, the duck as deck-swab. They eventually run into trouble in a thunderstorm (which the duck revels in, being more accustomed to water) and end up overboard. Peter calls out for his "Momma". She comes running, but the duck has already saved him. Despite it all, Peter still wants to be a sailor, which causes his mother to faint.
The voice of Peter Parrot was supplied by prolific child actor Robert "Bobby" Winckler, who had worked in more than 80 films and 200 radio shows with most of the stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood. His IMDB page is listed under his often-credited name Robert Winkler.
The duck in this cartoon is often thought to be the same duck that appeared in the Porky Pig cartoons It's an Ill Wind and Porky's Hotel, as well as She Was an Acrobat's Daughter.
During the storm sequence, the cartoon's soundtrack music includes a few bars from the second movement of Gioacchino Rossini's William Tell Overture.
The mother parrot sings part of the chorus of the song "Poor Old Joe" as she comes to Peter's rescue ("I'm coming...").
I Wanna Be a Sailor is the first Warner Bros. cartoon to end with the 1937-38 Merrily We Roll Along theme.
This cartoon is one of a handful of pre-1943 shorts to enter the public domain because United Artists, the owners of the short at the time, failed to renew the copyrights in time, though they had planned to do so.

In 1620 7⁄8, Pilgrims, riding a caricatured Mayflower with a number of World War II-era anachronisms (such as a navy gunnery deck, a Henry J. Kaiser nameplate and a fuel rationing card) land at Plymouth Rock and establish a colony, where they quickly separate into "Ye Democrats" and "Ye Republicans." The Pilgrims all stand in line for cigarettes (some are caricatures of Avery's animation crew), while the town crier bemoans that he has been made eligible for the draft with a card bearing his "1-A" eligibility in his hand.
A pear-shaped Pilgrim, who speaks with the milquetoast mannerisms of Bill Thompson (here impersonated because he had been drafted and was unavailable), emerges from his dilapidated teardrop trailer home and goes hunting for a turkey for a Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey emerges from the "House of Seven Gobbles" (a literal black market in disguise) and, seeing an easy mark and speaking in an impersonation of Jimmy Durante, offers himself to the pilgrim, only to use this as the start of a series of rapid-fire gags that stretch the limits of even cartoon physics, with the turkey consistently getting the best of his increasingly befuddled and frustrated opponent.
Eventually the two make up and decide to "eat at Joe's," following the advice of a clapboard-wearing bear advertising his steakhouse that appears throughout the short. When they reach Joe's steakhouse, the door closes, loud crashes and thuds are heard, and Joe the bear is seen coming out of the restaurant without his sandwich board; on his back is a tattoo which reads "I'm Joe". The bear is grinning and picking his teeth, as the swallowed-whole turkey and pilgrim sulk in the bear's stomach. The pilgrim closes the cartoon by holding up a sign of his own: "DON'T eat at Joe's."

In this classic fable, In a jungle, a primitive tribe of people with black noses and dark skin with light muzzles are going about their day, with the jungle elements being intertwined with modern-day gags; for example, the people dancing around a tent (in a style more reminiscent of Native American fire dances) when it turns into a makeshift merry-go-round, to the tune of "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down," which promptly deflates and slows to a halt, and at least one of the denizens wears a top hat in resemblance of minstrel show stereotypes.
A traveling dog-faced salesman named Manny (a parody of Al Pearce's character Elmer Blurt) comes by to offer them the latest in "assorted useful, useless, utensils". The natives, after initially trying their hardest to avoid him, decide he would make a delicious dinner, so they invite him in, ransack his goods, and throw him into a cauldron while a mammy chef prepares him as soup. They proceed to familiarize themselves with vacuum cleaners, batteries, light bulbs, etc.
The village queen (depicted as an old, chicken-like white woman, possibly to avoid any problems with the Hays code over the issue of miscegenation) hears of the arrival of the salesman, and desperate for a husband, she brings him in. As Manny delivers his sales pitch, the queen sees him as Clark Gable and Robert Taylor and is smitten, demanding her to be married right away. The two are rushed into a marriage, and when asked to kiss the bride, Manny panics and jumps back into the cauldron; in a closing shot, he curses his captors with the hope that "they all get indigestion" as he submerges into the pot to his death.

Just then, the man arrives to shoot the king; they argue over which is the king, and Gabby runs off just as there's an explosion of flash powder; the man was a photographer, and the photo isn't at all flattering.

A comically ridiculously altered version of the classic tale, in which Don Quixote is victorious over his imaginary enemies and emits Tarzan-like yells of triumph.
An institutionalized man reads classic literature in his padded cell. He believes that he is a knight like in the books he reads and attacks a guard checking in on him. After escaping from the asylum, he happens upon a horse and makeshift suit of armor. With the police on his tail, he travels on until he encounters and fights a windmill that he believes to be a giant. Once the windmill is defeated, he moves on to the house of an opera singer whom he mistakes for a screaming damsel in distress. But before he can save the woman, he must battle a backhoe that he believes to be a dragon. When he finally reaches his damsel, he discovers that she is an ugly woman and both he and the guard pursuing him run back to the institution and lock themselves in the cell.
