Northern California Nature

Our first visit to the preserve was a windy one. We saw a ton of birds, mostly ducks. There were some cool Black-Necked Stilts and Greater Yellowlegs. Also saw quite a few White-Fronted and Canada Geese. Still learning most of the bird names so comment below if can spot something you know. Thanks for watching.

An Anna's Hummingbird flew in the teachers room and got stuck behind a sign. She gently grabbed the bird hoping it wasn't hurt and released it outside to it's waiting friend. Flew away just fine.

These nuthatch birds are so fast moving it's really hard to record any video of them. When you do get video it's only a couple of seconds because they are always on the move. Also have some goldfinches and regular house finches that came by afterwards.

These are the cutest little things. There's a pair visiting our backyard and fattening up for the winter. They are so quick and agile. Definitely fun to watch and record. Unedited video.

Had a great outing to the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area which is becoming our favorite birdwatching place to visit. Here's a list of the birds I have on this video: American Coot, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Long-Billed Dowitcher, Western Meadowlark, Coopers Hawk, Peregrine Falcon

We got super lucky when a great egret landed near our location. I got close and recorded video. I managed to get even closer and record this video afterwards. There were people passing by and the egret didn't fly away.
