The eighth chapter of Romans is so powerful. It casts vision for us to see that we can have a direct impact on the spiritual, and even natural freedom of creation from sin's curse of pain and destruction.

By divine appointment, Paul met Aquila and Priscilla in Corinth. They were all tentmakers in the natural, but together they built human tabernacles for God to dwell in.

As Paul ministers in Ephesus, a young zealous Jew from Alexandria named Apollos comes into the storyline. He is sharing with passion what he knows about the Christian faith, but needs more information to make his story more complete. Aquila and Priscilla take on the task of "explaining the ways of God more perfectly" to him.

Paul finds himself among a group of philosophers who daily come and discuss the latest thoughts on life, religion and politics in Greece. At Mars Hill he sees a statue honoring the unknown god. He uses this as a stringboard from which to explain who this God is, and to announce the good news of salvation through Jesus His son.

Paul & Silas travel to Thessalonica, a prominent port city in Macedonia to share the Gospel of Jesus. They left there due to Jewish interference and ministered to a group of very diligent students of the scriptures.

2 Samuel chapter 22 tells the story of David's life experience with God's delivering power. He had many strong, seemingly overwhelming enemies, but God gave him the victory over them all. He was humble before Jehovah concerning whose power had delivered him - he always gave credit to God.

Sometimes we forget that we have a commission in the body of Christ to be each other's encouragers due to the demands of our own lives. Paul told the Galatian church to fulfill "the law of Christ," that is to bear one another's burdens. This can begin simply by asking a brother or sister: "is there a need I can agree in prayer with you about?" It many times includes simple acts of service like providing a dish of food when they are sick, or offering to do a simple chore for them until they get well.

Paul isn't planning to go to Macedonia until he has a dream where a man asked him to come help the people there find Jesus. He finds there a group of women gathered by the river at Philippi praying with Lydia.

Paul now takes on the new role of mentoring a young Christian of mixed parentage. He has to deal with Jewish prejudice against the uncircumcised, especially as it pertains to hearing about new covenant faith.

Paul saw it in the books of Acts. We have seen it in America, even before we were a nation. God has moved His glory through humans throughout church history. He continues to house His treasure in earthen vessels.

In 1607 our first settlers, who founded Jamestown, made a covenant with God when they landed on the shore at Cape Henry, VA (now Virginia Beach). This was 13 years before the Mayflower landed in Massachusetts - on which ship another covenant was made with God, called the "Mayflower Compact." Both documents stated that this land and its settlers were commissioned to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to the native people and to all nations of the earth. America was destined to take the message of the Gospel to all parts of the world. 400 years after the Cape Henry landing, Pat Robertson was directed by God to found the Christian Broadcasting Network in Virginia Beach, VA - only miles from where Pastor Hunt, Pat Robertson's ancestor, planted the cross.
