Paul, being rooted and built up in the knowledge of Jesus, was able to reveal His nature throughout the churches. Being rooted and built up in Jesus was what he encouraged these believers to do as well.

Daily we have opportunity to overcome the flesh and the devil. In our own strength we fall short of the mark, but with the resurrection life of Jesus working in us, we train to reign and overcome the works of darkness that trip us up in the race of faith.

As Paul appeals to be heard by Caesar in Rome, he enters the process of being heard by local governors and prominent men of the city in an attempt to understand what crime he is really being charged with. Paul never misses an opportunity to share his faith in Jesus to all who will hear.

Paul had received several prophetic words that if he went to Rome seeking justice for the Jewish leaders' accusations, then he would face persecution. He did not question the accuracy of the words, but was not moved by the circumstances that his going would bring about. He finished his salutations to the brethren in Jerusalem and left confident that he was to go to Rome and appeal to Caesar for his case to be heard.

Paul knew that he would not see the pastors again that he had helped to train in a friendly setting. He took the occasion to teach them one last time - laboring day and night in the Word and exhortation. He brought closure to his missionary travels and committed them to God's care going forward.
