Gestational Diabetes - Overview (signs and symptoms, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment)
High levels of blood glucose during pregnancy. Glucose is the main energy source for our bodies. It is produced by our bodies when we consume food. And it is regulated to cells by insulin, the hormone produced by the pancreas.
Unfortunately this condition can appear for everyone, and anyone. All women are at risk of developing gestational diabetes, or diabetes mellitus how it is known in a more medical jargon.

Breastfeeding / lactation cookies recipe: INGREDIENTS 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats 1 1/2 cups unbleached organic all-purpose flour 5 tablespoons brewers yeast 4 tablespoons ground flax seed 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 12 tablespoons organic unsalted butter 4 tablespoons unrefined organic virgin coconut oil 1 1/2 cups organic cane sugar/ or honey 1 large egg + 1 large egg yolk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract You mix the dry ingredients all in one bowl , and all the wet ones in another, and only then you mix wet with dry . Scoop the dough into an ice cream scoop (or a big spoon ) so they are fairly uniform in size and place on a baking sheet about 4 cm apart. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes, or until the bottoms are just golden, oven temp to be set at about 170-180 C. Let cool completely before storing in a sealed container. You can add chocolate flakes or other things you might find yummy.

We all have a plan, and we all need to know as much as possible about our options during childbirth. Beet if you want to have a c section, a natural birth, a natural non medicated birth. There are so many options these days. It needs to be your choice, and you need to know what are the risks of all of these options. Like with having a epidural..
Risks Some risk factors of an epidural include:
• back pain and soreness
• headaches
• persistent bleeding (from puncture site)
• fever • breathing difficulties
• drop in blood pressure, which can slow down the baby’s heart rate But just keep in mind that sometimes the option can be taken out of our hands regarding natural birth, and due to last minute complications, you might need to have a unplanned c section.

Caffeine in pregnancy is the topic for today. Mum vloger wanting to help other mums to be. I want to help other mums that have the need of information at every step of pregnancy and after.
Caffeine in pregnancy, pros and cons, risks, studies. Things you need to know. The amount of caffeine found in some foods and drinks is as follows:
• 1 mug of instant coffee: 100mg
• 1 mug of filter coffee: 140mg
• 1 mug of tea: 75mg
• 1 can of cola: 40mg
• 1 can (250ml) of energy drink: up to 80mg – larger cans may contain up to 160mg
• 1 bar (50g) of plain chocolate: most products on the UK market contain less than 25mg
• 1 bar (50g) of milk chocolate: most products on the UK market contain less than 10mg
In a day, you will almost reach your 200mg caffeine limit if you have:
• 2 mugs of tea and 1 can of cola
• 1 mug of instant coffee and 1 can (250ml) of energy drink
