https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/tour/bacalar-cenotes-and-lagoon-exploration/cacm7colorslag/?id=1506754 We took a cruise to Costa Maya, Mexico and were so excited to explore the 7 Colors Lagoon in Bacalar. We love booking through third party excursion companies because the groups are smaller and we typically get to do more because of that smaller group. We wanted to give a big thanks to Shore Excursions Group for hosting us on this excursion. When we got off the cruise ship we walked the long pier to the port at Costa Maya. All third party excursions meet outside of the port so we walked out of the port and met up with our guide. They had our name on a whiteboard and were waiting for us. We got into our van with our small group and headed to Bacalar. On our way we stopped and got delicious empanadas and fresh cut pineapple. When we arrived at the marina in Bacalar we got onto our pontoon boat and headed to our first destination, which was Cenote Negro. We were boating through shallow turquoise water when all of a sudden we reached Cenote Negro that drops 250 feet deep. Because of that drop off, it looks like a big black hole. After exploring there we headed over to Cenote Esmeralda, which is a bigger cenote. We found a shallow area away from the cenote and went swimming in the shallow water. After relaxing and taking in the views we headed over to "El Canal de las piratas" (The Pirates Channel/Canal). This is a beautiful area with shallow water and on old structure that looks like a ship. We swam around and explored this area. The water was crystal clear. After that we headed back to the Marina and then headed to a Mexican Restaurant called El Taco Loco. This meal was included with our excursion. After that we returned to the port of Costa Maya. It took us about an hour and 25 minutes to get back. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely do this again. We stayed in Kailua-Kona on the west side, so we started our adventures north of Kona up on the northwest side of the island. We then headed south along the west coast of the Big Island. From the southernmost point we headed east along the southern coast. Here’s a list of the beaches and snorkeling spots in order. We also have a full video for each destination. We didn’t make it to Hilo and that side of the island so we will have to do a different video for that side when we go back. https://www.jordanoutside.com/rainbow-falls-overlook-big-island-hawaii We went over to the Hilo side of the Big Island of Hawaii to visit the Rainbow Falls Overlook at Wailuku River State Park. There is free parking, public bathrooms, and multiple places to view the waterfall.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/hawaii-volcanoes-national-park-big-island-hawaii We went to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. We only had 2 hours, but we were able to visit 6 different locations. We went to the visitor center, the steam vents, the Kilauea Overlook, the Uekahuna Overlook, the Kilauea Iki Overlook and trail, and the Thurston Lava Tube. This is such an amazing National Park to visit.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/pohoiki-black-sand-beach-isaac-hale-beach-park-big-island-hawaii Pohoiki Black Sand Beach is located at Isaac Hale Beach Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. This is the newest black sand beach from the lava flow of 2018. You can still see the old boat ramp that used allow boats into the bay. Now you have a long and beautiful black sand beach. It's located on the southeast side of the Big Island of Hawaii.

This video was cut short as I realized that this is a clothing optional beach. It has a steep and rocky hike down, but this beach is beautiful.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/punaluu-black-sand-beach-big-island-hawaii Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is located on the southern end of the Big Island of Hawaii. There are two parking lots, public bathrooms, picnic tables, and a store. This beautiful beach has soft black sand and amazing palm trees.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/papakolea-green-sand-beach-big-island-hawaii The Papakolea Green Sand Beach is located on the south end of the Big Island of Hawaii. This green sand has olivine, which is a common mineral that crystalizes from volcanic magma. The hike is a 5.6 mile out and back hike or you can pay $40 per person to have a truck drive you to the beach. It’s a maze of dirt roads that are really rough, but the beach makes it all worth it.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/south-point-cliff-dive-big-island-hawaii South Point Cliff Dive is located on the very southern tip of the Big Island of Hawaii. This cliff area has an approximate 40 foot jump into 20 feet of water. You can also take the trail south to the Southernmost Point of the United States. This is a beautiful location to explore.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/pebbles-beach-big-island-hawaii Pebbles Beach is a black sand beach located on the southwest side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Instead of black sand it is small pebbles. The sound of the ocean crashing on these black pebbles is amazing. We loved exploring this beach.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/hookena-beach-park-big-island-hawaii Ho'okena Beach Park is a beautiful beach with great snorkeling located on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii. They have a free parking lot, but it fills up fast so get there early. This beach has public bathrooms and you can also camp there with a permit.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/two-step-beach-big-island-hawaii Two Step Beach has some of the best snorkeling on the Big Island of Hawaii. This isn't a sandy beach, but has a lot of lava rock and that is why the water is crystal clear. We saw all sorts of fish and had dolphins swim right up to us. Two Step Beach is located on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii.

This is a 3.7 mile out and back hike with an elevation gain of 1,272 feet. There's free parking on the shoulder of the road by the trailhead. The snorkeling here is amazing!

This beach is known for its vibrant coral reef and its amazing snorkeling. There is a big parking lot that cost $12 for 4 hours. They also have public bathrooms and showers.

This beach has free parking, public bathrooms, amazing sand, crystal clear water, and great snorkeling. This is a must visit on your next trip to the Big Island of Hawaii.

There is a paved 1-lane road to the beach with plenty of parking. This beach has great snorkeling on the south end and a place to surf on the north end.

You can park in the paved parking lot and walk to the beach or you can drive the dirt road right to the beach. Most of the beach is rocky, but there is a section in the middle that you can go in and snorkel.

It's recommended to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get in as the road is not completely paved. They have new public bathrooms and a big parking lot. We loved this beach and would recommend visiting on your next trip to the Big Island of Hawaii.

It's recommended to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get in as the road is not completely paved. The water is crystal clear and has great snorkeling with turtles.

This beautiful beach has great snorkeling and we even saw a pod of dolphins there too. They have public bathrooms, showers and lots of parking.

You go through a guard gate to get a pass and then drive to a big parking lot that has bathrooms and showers. You walk a short path to a beautiful beach with great snorkeling and lots of sea turtles.

https://www.jordanoutside.com/kiholo-state-park-reserve-big-island-hawaii Kiholo State Park Reserve has black sand beaches, turquoise water, and great hiking. It's located on the northwest side of the Big Island of Hawaii. We hiked to 3 different black sand beaches. Then we hiked to the 2.1 mile out and back to Kiholo Bay to swim in the calm turquoise water.
