Either the wind is wrong, I've got to work, or I am hunting elsewhere. That's when the big guy comes by.

I put some buck urine with tarsal into a scrape. These bucks were likely buddies before approaching the scrape. Watch how the scent brings in the aggression!

This acorn scent never spooks deer. They just seem to enjoy stopping by for a few licks. Wished I was there when the big guy visited!

No wonder it is so hard to sneak up on these critters! (10 minutes of your life that you can't have back)

Tested out acorn scent - I will never go back to Doe in heat scent! I won't argue that doe in heat works on bucks, but on more than one occasion it caused the doe to alarm and run - taking the tending trophy buck with it. This acorn scent they really seem to like.

I set a trap to catch one of those ferocious varmints. What I actually caught forced me to rethink my strategy.

Sat all day watching a bait pile in the NW woods of Wisconsin. I think the bears sat all day watching and waiting for me to leave...

Imagine my excitement when I returned the next day to find all of the bait consumed. It must've been a really large bear, right?

I had just made this scrape the day before. I used buck urine. The scent pad over it has acorn scent applied to it.

He just seems to be feeding in the same area, but the fawns are really interested in him. The doe will attempt to unsuccessfully run him off. Perhaps he is her fawn from a previous year...
