Is Matthew 28:19 really the GREAT Commission? Why would God have a mission that wouldn't be successful? So what IS His purpose for everything He does?

God chose Israel, the Jewish people, to be His witnesses to the world so that all would know Him. Many suggest that because of her rejection of Jesus and constant disobedience, God is through with Israel. But God is faithful despite Israel's unfaithfulness. He knows there will come a day when "all" Israel will be saved!

It's hard to give up traditions that we've grown up with, but when they contradict Scripture, then we really have a challenge. But this is only a suggestion...NOT "Thus says the Lord." But maybe.......

The dentist appointment would take too long: I needed to bring my puppy. But that meant 7 different LA freeways during rush hour! I'd never make it on time. Yikes!!!! I left Dino's phone number on my desk...without cell phones no way to reach him when I was done.

Tradition changed the meaning of Yom Kippur from a day of national atonement to a day of personal judgement. Jews and Christians believe that by fasting and praying for 40 days preceding the holiday God will be gracious and answer their prayers. Often those prayers are demands!

The recent political situation caused millions of people to pray....rightfully! But we need to ask ourselves are we begging God to do what we think is best, or trusting Him to do what He knows is best. "aint easy!
