Protect Patina Paint | Boiled Linseed Oil | VW Bruce
The ease of use, low cost, and natural ingredients are what sold us in trying this "Rust Prevention" and Patina Preserve "sauce" on our 1969 Blue VW Sedan. Our first application was September 2020 (in So Cal) and this vide is us applying our 2nd application. How often you need to reapply depends on your region/weather. The hotter the region (e.g. Arizona) the sooner. If you are in California, due to regulations, you may have to buy Mineral Spirits online. Use carefully if you have sensitive hands. #MineralSpirits #BoiledLinseedOil #HappyFahrvergnügen
PATINA - a breaking down or aging of metal, leather, wood, etc. by oxidation and/or chemicals over time. The Patina look can also be created by removing certain areas of paint leaving an "old" look. Very popular with Chalk Paint artists.
MIXTURE RECIPE:
75% Boiled Linseed Oil
25% Mineral Spirits
Glass mason jar
Clean soft towels
🛑 Mineral Spirits is volatile. Store in dark cool place.
⚠️DO NOT WAD-UP WET USED TOWELS.
⚠️ALLOW TOWELS TO FULLY DRY.
