Can squirrelly skills be built into robots
Squirrels leaping from wobbly perches across impossibly large gaps, parkouring off walls, scrambling to recover from tricky landings.
Just another YouTube video documenting the crazy antics of squirrels hell-bent on reaching peanuts?
No, these videos are part of a study to understand the split-second decisions squirrels make routinely as they race through the tree canopy, jumping from branch to branch, using skills honed to elude deadly predators.
The payoff to understanding how squirrels learn the limits of their agility could be better robots with better control to nimbly move through varied landscapes, such as the rubble of a collapsed building in search of survivors. It could also lead to a better understanding of movement problems that come with age.
Biologists like Robert Full at the University of California, Berkeley, have shown over the last few decades how animals like geckos, cockroaches and squirrels physically move and how their reflexes help them in sticky situations — all of which have been applied to making more agile robots — but now they are tackling a harder problem: How does an animal decide whether or not to take a leap? How do they assess their biomechanical abilities to know whether they can stick the landing?

8 Early Warning Signs of Mental Illness
Have you been feeling overly anxious lately? Or are you worried that your loved ones might be suffering from a mental illness? If you want to be more informed about the warning signs of a mental illness, here are a few early warning signs of mental illness.
Disclaimer. This video is meant to be informative. It is not a guide for self-diagnosis. If any of these points apply to you or someone you know, please seek professional medical help.
Note: How do you help someone with a mental illness? When placed in that situation, many of us do not know what to do. Typically, you might offer words of support or encouragement. You may want to try to solve everything. However, sometimes your seemingly good intentions can come off as abrasive or insensitive. When trying to help someone with a mental health illness, listen. Listen to that person and allow them to voice whatever they are feeling and validate them. Do not try to diagnose them or consult them. Please leave that to a mental health professional. Also, inform yourself about the mental illness and its warning signs so that you can refer them to a professional if necessary. (taking into account if they want to get help also. Don’t try to force anyone).

Patchmans Magical Wealth Affirmations Shift into Prosperity Consciousness
When I talk to members of this beautiful Spirit community, I hear often that finances are the #1 issue in life. I have also been crashed by the waves of financial issues, which compelled me to learn more about money as energy.
If money is energy and prosperity is consciousness, then a greater prosperity consciousness is the prerequisite to shift our relationship with money and help us live a prosperous life easily.
And so I offer this meditation to you today as a tool that you can use freely to create more wealth in your life. If you listen to it every day, you will help your energy evolve over a spectrum of time. For me, I like to listen as i’m waking up in the morning. It will bring you into the day in a really vibrant way and help you to shift your energy towards prosperity consciousness.
I’d like to challenge you to try it every day for one month, and see what you get as results by the end of it. Share your experiences in the comments below, or in the Spirit Mysteries Sacred Community.
This meditation was created as a part of the Secret Language of Money, a course we offer in Spirit Mysteries. We’ve designed 3 different courses now to help you shift your financial paradigm, (just in case you liked this and want more).
You can learn more by visiting https://www.spiritmysteries.school, which is also the home of our online community. It’s free to join and we’d love to have you.

Two Black Holes Merge into One!
A computer simulation shows the collision of two black holes, a tremendously powerful event detected for the first time ever by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, or LIGO. LIGO detected gravitational waves, or ripples in space and time generated as the black holes spiraled in toward each other, collided, and merged. This simulation shows how the merger would appear to our eyes if we could somehow travel in a spaceship for a closer look. It was created by solving equations from Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity using the LIGO data.
The two merging black holes are each roughly 30 times the mass of the sun, with one slightly larger than the other. Time has been slowed down by a factor of about 100. The event took place 1.3 billion years ago.
The stars appear warped due to the incredibly strong gravity of the black holes. The black holes warp space and time, and this causes light from the stars to curve around the black holes in a process called gravitational lensing. The ring around the black holes, known as an Einstein ring, arises from the light of all the stars in a small region behind the holes, where gravitational lensing has smeared their images into a ring.
The gravitational waves themselves would not be seen by a human near the black holes and so do not show in this video, with one important exception. The gravitational waves that are traveling outward toward the small region behind the black holes disturb that region’s stellar images in the Einstein ring, causing them to slosh around, even long after the collision. The gravitational waves traveling in other directions cause weaker, and shorter-lived sloshing, everywhere outside the ring.

Can You Trust Science Too Much?
Science is a human-created process that is undergoing constant revision and it is the best tool we have for uncovering truth. It's not a bunch of facts, it's not an ideology. It's imperfect and influenced by bias, but it is also very good at decreasing the affects of bias.
Forcing science to stand up next to systems that use entirely different rules is super frustrating, and I have been very disheartened by how effective that has been for getting people to abandon expertise for some guy who has opinions.
But I am also frustrated by people who treat science like it's an ideology...who take whatever is the current consensus and attack people who want to add to it or challenge it as if they are anti-science or a political opponent.
The nice thing is that we do have lots of randomized controlled trials for several different vaccines so, like, let's definitely do that. But we also need to keep investigating anti-virals and treatments for sick people because, like, we're not out of the woods yet...

The Dark side of Science. The Milgram Experiment (1963) (Short Documentary)
The Milgram experiment was a study on obedience to authority figures conducted by Psychologist Stanley Milgram in 1963.
The study was inspired by the Trial of Nazi Adolf Eichmann, this is due to his excuse being that he was "just following orders".
They measured the willingness of study participants to administer an electric shock on another person.
The Fascinating Horror of the study, has gone down in history as a horrific experience for the participants, leading to controversy.
Welcome to the Dark side of Science!

Is a Computer Science Degree Worth It
Is a computer science degree worth it?
So this was a video a TON of people requested. It's the first video I'm doing of this type and if it does well then there will be many more to come. Basically in this video we will be going over specific criteria that are very important when it comes to choosing the right major or degree and then ranking them on a scale from 1 to 10, then at the end I'll average all of them out and give you a final score.
I'm trying to be as fair and accurate as possible in these videos, but of course at the end of the day it's just my opinion, so do your own research. I just hope this helps you out a bit.
