The Pharisees of Jesus' day were avid students of God's Word. They knew the Law better than anyone did, and yet all it did was make them more proud and arrogant. If we want God's Word to produce fruit in our life, we have to study it and apply it. In today's podcast, I give you my four steps to studying the Bible, and then share how I ask probing questions to take that study deeper in my own personal life. So that I am looking into the mirror of God's Word, seeing my true state, and then taking the steps necessary to walk out what I'm learning. My youngest son has trouble with math. For a while it's been a struggle and frustration, so we decided to put the books aside and work on some fun games. Gameschooling is a great way to learn and have fun at the same time. Here's what we're doing. In today's podcast I answer the question, "May I have permission to open my Bible and just start reading?" Reading the Bible for ourselves, without the voice of man giving us constant commentary, is so vital. The Holy Spirit wants to speak to us directly, if we give Him the time. While it is good to listen to good, solid Bible teachers, if we never turn off the noise and allow the Holy Spirit to speak directly to us - and not through a 3rd party - we are missing out on so much. He wants to speak, but we must have ears to listen. Dear friends, In this video I make an announcement that is important. Now - I discovered more AFTER I recorded that video. The channels that are not yet monetized, but whose videos have ads inserted in them, have no control over the kinds of ads playing on their videos. I am sure you've noticed that some ads now are not "skipable", you don't get to skip the ad after 5 seconds. When a channel is monetized, they get to choose where they're ads are placed and whether they want a skipable or non-skipable ad. Also, you get to opt out of certain kinds of ads. I know this first-hand, because I use ads on my blog. There are certain kinds of ads I don't want on my blog, so I let the network know that. But if your YouTube channel isn't monetized, you have no control over what ads they choose to show on your videos! So, they could show ads that completely go against everything you stand for, and you have no control over that. I want no part of this.
