The Boy And The Heron Movie Review. I just saw the new Studio Ghibli film with my son and we were very surprised with our final thoughts. Although the movie is wonderfully animated and looks fantastic, the emotions just never hit for us. We both were very letdown by The Boy and the Heron.

Wonka movie review - Willy Wonka is back with a 3rd movie. Once again, starting over with a new actor and storyline. Timothy Chalamet tries on the hat and cane for this new reboot. I was expecting Wonka to be a complete dumpster fire but walked away pleasantly surprised with the final product. A solid family flick with promise of more to come.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Movie Review! Aquaman 2 marks the final film in the DCEU. A franchise that has had many ups and downs over the years. Aquaman 2 seems like an appropriate fizzle out to the random WB decisions made in the 10 year run. Jason Mamoa seems comfortable in the role as Aquaman but he also appears a bit out of sorts, all the same. The same can be said about the movie.

A24's The Iron Claw movie review. I just watched one of the best movies of 2023; The Iron Claw. Zac Efron gives the performance of a lifetime in this fantastic true story of a cursed family, trying to run from their own shadows. The movie is emotionally griping, beautiful shot, excellently acted and easily the highlight of 2023 film.

The Boys in the Boat Movie Review - George Clooney directs the powerful story of a team of underdogs, rowing for a chance at glory. This film was felt like the perfect throwback to 90s inspirational movies. I had a blast with this movie and hopefully people will get to theaters to watch it!

Saltburn movie review. Saltburn is currently free to stream on Amazon Prime so I checked it out. I was impressed with the mystery surrounding the characters and the Saltburn estate. The film has some pretty shocking moments that ultimately didn't do much for me but as a whole, this was a gripping film with good performances and an interesting set of characters. Definitely worth a watch, if you can stomach some crude behavior.

Rebel Moon - Part 1 - A Child Of Fire Movie Review. Zack Snyder is back with a brand new epic saga. The first part is now streaming on Netflix and boy is it terrible. I can't really get passed any of the decisions made with this film. The director has already preemptively stated there is a much better version to be seen. The film is split into 2 parts, ending on a really awful cliffhanger. The scale is somehow large and tiny at the same time. Nothing has weight. There are no stakes. It's just there. It's all just there. I hated this.

It's time to take out the trash. Today I reflect on 2023 and what movies really annoyed the crap out of me. Here are the top 10 worst movies I saw in 2023. A nice variety of Netflix exclusives, big, dumb blockbusters and maybe one or two surprises.

Netflix has another bad movie exclusive called "Leave The World Behind". Once again I wasted my life away watching this pointless film. It's a basic, tedious movie with unlikable characters and 1/2 a story.

The Last Jedi still sucks. I confirmed it recently after doing a rewatch. The way the film treated Luke Skywalker is unforgivable. Rey and Kylo are almost comical this time around. Finn is a straight up joke. Rose Tico is the worst. This whole film is a dumpster fire of poor decisions. That said, it looks really nice. So that's something. The force is wrong with this one. Let's roast it!

Mean Girls 2024 Movie Review. I was already going into this movie with a big chip on my shoulder. Mainly because remakes, reboots, spinoffs, etc; are all played way out. Also, the original Mean Girls is a perfect comedy so there was only down to go from here. Having it be a musical to tie in with the stage show was interesting but ultimately ended up making a bad combination of both. I hated these Mean Girls!

The Beekeeper Movie Review - Jason Statham came to make honey and kick butt and he's all out of honey. In yet another Statham action film, we see our character going from scene to scene, beating the crap out of endless waves of men while the story attempts to exist. The Beekeeper is incredibly dumb but fun enough to justify even being a thing.

Night Swim Movie Review. Night Swim is a 2024 theater release which can be pretty sketchy in January. Not the best month to typically put out scary movies. It also doesn't help that Night Swim is PG-13. Even though it has a few things working against it, Night Swim is a perfectly fine little flick. It's a good entry-level scary movie for younger teens.

Here are my top 10 favorite movies of 2023. I previously covered these on a live stream but made a critical mistake! This has been corrected. 2023 was a bit rough for big films but there were still enough great ones to justify a top 10 list. The Iron Claw, Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon were smart, well-crafted movies while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Across the Spider-Verse provided some great, family entertainment. Five Nights At Freddy's Movie Review. Freddy and his friends hit the big screen in a new Blumhouse scary movie. It's geared towards a younger audience with minimal scares and less gore. It's kinda like the Goosebumps movies, if those were 50% more boring and 110% more complicated. Unfortunately Freddy isn't scare, very fun or even slightly memorable. It just exists. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (Doctor Strange 2) is the disappointing sequel to Doctor Strange and like 10 other MCU things. This movie is more about Wanda than it is about Steven Strange. The multiverse makes everything completely useless. There are no stakes to anything. Visually it can be fun and it moves quickly but it's all just pretty colors and souless magic. Doctor Strange 2 is a big letdown in a series of new MCU letdowns. Let's roast it!
