Home of the '60s - '70s style New Music
These are my reactions and reviews from the NEW wave of 60s and 70s style music from artists of the past, and new 60s and 70s style artists from the year 2000 to the now. Great new music I think is cool and far out and has groove, and everyone might like.
And who knows maybe a surprise or three with some great (IMO) the 60s and 70s style music from before Y2K ;)

🎵 Avi Kaplan - I'll Get By - New Music - REACTION
🎵 Avi Kaplan - I'll Get By - New Music - REACTION
Avriel Benjamin Kaplan (born April 17, 1989) is an American singer and songwriter. He is known for his basso profondo range and for his tenure as the vocal bass of the a cappella group Pentatonix from 2011 to 2017. As a part of the group, he released five studio albums, won three Grammy Awards, and sold over six million albums.
In June 2017, Kaplan released his solo debut EP Sage and Stone under the name Avriel & the Sequoias. The EP served as his departure from the pop-based sounds of Pentatonix to folk-oriented styles. After retiring the stage name and signing with Fantasy Records, Kaplan released his second EP I'll Get By in February 2020. His debut studio album Floating on a Dream is expected to be released in May 2022.
Kaplan loves folk music and frequently went to the nearby Sequoia National Park, which became an inspiration for his music. He considers his earliest musical inspirations to be Simon & Garfunkel, John Denver, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and Bill Withers.

🎵 Jason Isbell - In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (Allman Brothers cover) - New Rock and Roll - REACTION
🎵 Jason Isbell - In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (Allman Brothers cover) - New Rock and Roll - REACTION
Jason Isbell has established himself as one of the most respected and celebrated songwriters of his generation. The North Alabama native possesses an incredible penchant for identifying and articulating some of the deepest, yet simplest, human emotions, and turning them into beautiful poetry through song. Isbell sings of the everyday human condition with thoughtful, heartfelt, and sometimes brutal honesty. Isbell broke through in 2013 with the release of Southeastern. His next two albums, Something More Than Free (2015) and The Nashville Sound (2017), won Grammy Awards for Best Americana Album & Best American Roots Song. Isbell’s song “Maybe It’s Time” was featured in the 2019 reboot of A Star Is Born.
His most recent full-length album, Reunions (2020), is a critically-acclaimed collection of ten new songs that showcases an artist at the height of his powers and a band fully charged with creativity and confidence. In April of 2021, it was announced that Isbell would appear in the upcoming Martin Scorsese film, Killers of the Flower Moon.
In October 2021, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit released a special new covers album, Georgia Blue. Created to celebrate Georgia’s role in the 2020 election, the record consists of new versions of thirteen songs with ties to the state, including tracks originally recorded by Georgia natives R.E.M., Drivn’ N’ Cryin’, James Brown, Cat Power, Precious Bryant, Otis Redding, The Black Crowes, Indigo Girls, Now It’s Overhead, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Allman Brothers Band and Vic Chesnutt. All proceeds will benefit three non-profit organizations: Black Voters Matter, Fair Fight and Georgia STAND-UP.

🎵 Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats - I Need Never Get Old - New Rock and Roll - REACTION
🎵 Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats - I Need Never Get Old - New Rock and Roll - REACTION
Nathaniel David Rateliff (born October 7, 1978) is an American singer and songwriter based in Denver, Colorado, whose influences are described as folk, Americana and vintage rhythm & blues.
Rateliff has performed with a backing band called the Night Sweats for an R&B side project he formed in 2013. He has released three solo albums, two solo EPs, and one album as Nathaniel Rateliff and the Wheel.
Beginning in 2013, while still performing and recording with earlier solo and group projects, Rateliff embarked on a more upbeat, soulful sound with longtime collaborator Joseph Pope III and other collaborators in shows around Denver and Boulder.
On June 24, 2015, the self-titled release of Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats via Stax Records was announced with the lead single being "S.O.B." The Night Sweats feature Joseph Pope III (bass), Mark Shusterman (keyboards) and Patrick Meese (drums). Other band members include Luke Mossman (guitar), Wesley Watkins (trumpet), and Andy Wild (saxophone).
According to the Los Angeles Times, this was "an album Rateliff made as a last-ditch effort before throwing in the towel on his music career, only to see it go viral and turn into a runaway hit."

🎵 The Sundowners - Into The Light - New Rock and Roll - REACTION
The Sundowners are a five-piece from The Wirral. They're cooking up a musical melting pot of musical influences including Fleetwood Mac, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Byrds and Tom Petty.
They're taking their time, writing real songs, putting on great gigs and capturing an audience all around the country. They've supported Cats Eyes in London, Faris loved them and Weller is into them too. There's something otherworldly about them. Great tunes Great haircuts, what more do you need.

🎵 The Texas Gentlemen - Ain't Nothin' New - New Rock and Roll -REACTION
"How would you describe The Texas Gentlemen in your own words?"
"Beau Bedford: The Texas Gentlemen are the Swiss army knife of music. We celebrate everything in modern Pop music - from Jazz to Blues to Country, to Folk to Pop. We are really influenced by our predecessors, the generation before us - The Band, The Swampers, The Wrecking Crew were big influences for what we are doing as a band. We are into timeless, American music and I hope that's what the output of our content sounds like."

Jessie Wagner And Envy - Magic Man (feat. Ann Wilson) [New Classic Rock] | REACTION
Jessie Wagner And Envy - Magic Man (feat. Ann Wilson) [New Classic Rock] | REACTION
Jessie Wagner covering Heart's Magic Man.
Jessie Wagner describes “Our music is the combination of so many different genres, it’s kind of schizophrenic. I’d probably say I’m a rock, soul singer with pop influences here and there. Envy is like a mish-mosh of genres coming together to create the sound. Everyone in my band has a unique background.”
Jessie Wagner has played with many music greats. She was a member of the group Chic, and she has sung with Pattie Labelle, Sir Elton John, Peter Gabriel, Sister Sledge, Musiq and the Pointer Sisters. “When I was with Chic, I was blessed to be able to perform with all these different artists. Nile Rodgers is such an influential artist himself. Through working with Chic, I was able to expand my repertoire and my ability to work with different artists. I’m so grateful to Nile Rodgers for giving me that opportunity.”
When asked Jessie Wagner about her music influences, she responded: “I’m drawn to exciting performers who have big voices, like Tina Turner. You watch her, and she’s amazing to watch. She’s so vibrant and exciting. Then, on top of that, she has such a huge voice. That’s what I want to present when I go out on stage. I want to give you everything, be wild and crazy and vibrant and exciting; and I want to deliver it with big powerful vocals.”

Welcome to Long Live Rock home of New Classic Rock.
Southern Culture On The Skids - Polka Dot Dress [New Classic Rock] REACTION
Southern Culture on the Skids' music is difficult to classify singularly, as the band incorporates several different musical styles into its own unique sound. Guitarist/singer Rick Miller has described the band's sound as "Americana from the wrong side of the tracks. It incorporates elements of punk, garage, hillbilly, novelty, and beach music. This sound has been classified as Southern rock, country, rockabilly, surf, psychedelic, R&B, and psychobilly. The band originally focused primarily on rock music styles, but would later focus primarily on country music.

New music and my reactions from Classic Rock artists from the past, and New Classic Rock artists from the year 2000 to the now. And who knows maybe a surprise or three with rare classic rock tunes from before Y2K ;)
Goodbye June - Three Chords [New Classic Rock] | REACTION
Influenced by Led Zeppelin, Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix among many other rock bands, Goodbye June's music has been described as "blues-infused rock with hard-driving beats, blistering guitars, and down and dirty vocals"
