This project took us about 3 months of working on and off but the payoff is INSANE. These were the WORST 2 rooms in the house and now we can't even bring ourselves to putting the litter boxes back in there! Still one more bathroom to go...

The "quick and easy" Z31 project I picked up a few months back quickly spiraled into a nightmare of chasing a million small issues along with some major tune up jobs. All of that is a distant memory now after seeing how it sits today. It's still a rusty crusty 37 year old car... but now when I park the Z, I look back and see this fantastic page of 80s car history in all its glory. Then I unlock the doors with a key fob and jam to Gunship via Bluetooth hitting 7 furious pounds of boost all the way home.

Joel and Lindsay Villarreal take a drive up to the Volo Auto Museum. This is a really fun day checking everything car related under one roof! They also have an awesome playground and kids dinosaur park that looked really cool if you bring the kids along. If you live in Illinois I highly recommend planning a trip here!

I found this antique typewriter desk at a furniture thrift store for $50 and fell in love with it! I didn't want to alter it too much but I did get a little nutty and added to it instead. If you are asking why anybody would need 3 monitors, two of them being 55 inch TVs just remember what channel you are watching. I unfortunately did not film adding the flip out monitor and keyboard because I just got the itch to tinker with the idea one night and before I knew it I was already done. It took a ton of trial, error, and tinkering to make it work as well as it does.

This bedroom was so pink it hurt my eyes just standing in it. A fresh coat of paint on the ceiling and walls along with some fresh flooring bring this room back to life. Just don't bring up the electrical gremlins I had to track down to fix the outlets!

Now that we figured out what the bump in the floor was and ripped out the "closet" we have to get a game plan together. After bouncing a few ideas around I figured lets get the room painted and circle back and see what makes the most sense. Then we heard a bump in the night...

After moving into the new house I was hurting for a truck to haul stuff around and passing up some awesome projects that I couldn't drag home was driving me CRAZY! I found the perfect work truck, I call this 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 the Burro.

This room needed a LOT of TLC, but after some paint and flooring it is looking great! Now we just need some furniture to finally set up my new office.

The Burro dodge ram needed a trailer hitch so she can do some work finally! A little TLC goes a long way on an old beater truck. I also tackled some other small things that had a big impact on the truck.

We start on a new room and finally solve the mystery of what this box thing is and why we are stuck with it. It is truly hilarious that I did not figure it out sooner just from thinking about it but there has been so much going on that I guess my brain was too fried and I was too excited to find something crazy in a mystery box lol

This is the best way to build a closet for these two bedrooms I could come up with. First step is to cut out a doorway in the original wall, then we will build the basic structure in this video!

Now that the basic framing is done its time to add some wiring for lights and might as well add a few outlets while we are at it. I've never done drywall work before this but luckily there are a TON of great resources for advice and instruction on it already out there. I recommend "the drywall guys" as they dont actually explain much they are just BEAST professionals that do it all day every day and for some reason it gave me way more success to learn by watching rather than learn by thinking. Slapping up the drywall is the easy part, the next video will show the hard part, taping, mudding, and sanding. It's also the worst part! lol

What's better, a useless box in a room or a secret trap door? Exactly. So in this episode we finally do something with the ugly bump in the floor. With the box out of the way we were able to finish the flooring, patch up the wall, finish the closet, AND we even through some curtains up to finish the room. Next week we address how we are going to conceal the literal hole in the room.

The Z seemed to be the victim of having its T-Top smashed and stereo stolen at some point. Then worse than that, it was left outside for enough time to get plenty of water damage on the seats and carpeting. A quick wash and a ton of scrubbing later and the carpet looks marginally better...

I can't resist getting some cool shots in our local graveyard during October... or the rest of the year for that matter. We have been looking to free up some cash for some new projects so we have been kicking around the idea of selling our 2009 Honda Fit GE8. I have owned this car 4 times longer than any other car I have owned, it's either sell it now or k swap it later! We just bought this old house and decided to do a flashlight walk through while it was completely empty... well besides all the creepy old stuff in the basement.

We could not take the terrible dog smell anymore so this carpeting had to go! Note the several walls that were built directly on top of the carpeting too! #Cheapoldhouseproblems

We have driven past this hidden gem 1000 times and when we heard there was a horse and hound graveyard here, we finally turned left into the parking lot. Antique barns, farm equipment, carriages, and some really beautiful scenery! Oh and did I mention the horse and hound cemetery!
