Watering System Fixes Completed & Why I am Moving to Nipples
Video from last nights build and install:
https://youtu.be/1Bo03lU3C04
I'm letting the drippy nipples drip for now in order to show the chickens that there is water in there.
Once they get the hang of em, I'll swap out and leaking nipples, and probably cut off and cap the section of watering cups.

Watering System Upgrade Update: Corrections Needed
Noticed some things in the light of day that I couldn't see by flashlight last night.
The main issue is the watering cups are now angled too far forward and dripping, that might be due to me pulling the corner connection near the fence too tight, or I could have just not lined up the pipe well enough when connecting them. Also the line of pipe with the nipples is a bit too high. Will get out there and make some edits after getting a bit more coffee in the bloodstream.
Yes, I make videos when I screw up too. :)

Upgrade to the Bucket Fed Chicken Watering System.
I decided to add a section of watering nipples to my Chicken Watering System. Simple mod so this is a shorter video. Will see having the nipples closer to the feeder will encourage the chickens to learn how to drink out of the nipples. If they can figure it out, then I'll likely convert the remaining watering cups over to nipples as they are much easier to maintain and keep clean.

Lil Clucker Watering Cups 9 Month Review, Are They Worth The Price?
The question here is not are the cups good, but are they worth the $4 per cup price when there are much cheaper options available?
The red cups with the yellow flappers shown in this video do have a longer learning curve for the chickens to figure out, which is why I ordered the Lil Cluckers. Eventually they all got the hang of the cheap cups but they still seem to prefer the cups that they can see the water in.
Over the 9 months I've had the Lil Cluckers, two developed leaks which caused a constant flow of water and one was broken by a spastic rooster.
I've probably had a similar fail rate on the cheap cups, but at less than a dollar each it hurts less when you have to swap one out.
Seeing how I'm down to just 2 of the Lil Cluckers left, I found a deal on Amazon which has 9 similar cups, 9 PVC Tees and 9 Nipples for $17. ($20 with a $3 coupon).
I've tried using nipples in the past, and the chickens just can't seem to figure them out.
My plan is to run a branch off of the existing water line and hang some nipples vertically at the entrance to their feeding station in the hopes they will finally figure them out.
Vertical Nipples are the lowest maintenance way to water the chickens if they can learn how to use them.
Below are links with pricing for the Lil Cluckers, a similar product to the Red Cups with Yellow flappers, and the set that is on it's way from Amazon that I'll be testing out next weekend.

No Longer Endorsing FLYGRUBS.COM / No method to cancel subscriptions.
Update:
I was able to cancel my subscription thru the paypal website by finding the last order and canceling the Automatic Payments to this company.
Steps:
View Order, hit Resolution Center Link, Manage Automatic Payments, Cancel Future Payments.
If you subscribed with a different payment method, I am not sure how you can cancel.
Hope this helps.
See also:
https://www.facebook.com/flygrubs/reviews
My email to the company:
I have been endorsing your product on my YouTube channel for a few
months now, I have also subscribed to have 10 pounds of Flygrubs
delivered every 2 months.
I have heard complaints about people not being able to cancel their
subscriptions so I decided to see how hard the cancellation process was.
On the My Account page, the only thing I can edit is my address.
In the footer of the page, I hit the "Subscription Policy" link, where
it says:
"If you want to cancel or change your subscription, you can do it at any
time. Your order confirmation emails have links to your order. You can
manage your subscription from there."
So I went to the Orders page, both via the Confirmation Email link and
Orders link within my account and again there is no method found to
cancel a subscription.
Your product and pricing are good, but not having a simple and
accessible method to cancel a reoccurring subscription is unacceptable.
For this reason I am withdrawing my endorsement of your company, and
requesting my future subscription orders be cancelled.
If you are able to correct the issue described above, I may consider
reevaluating our relationship in the future.
Best Regards,

Replacing the TPS and Fixing Coil Error Code on a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer, V8 4.6 Engine.
We bought the Mountaineer 2 weeks ago to replace the wrecked Jeep Grand Cherokee. After a couple of days the Service Engine Soon light came on. Fair chance the seller cleared the codes before selling it.
So, ordered a $20 OBDII Code Reader from Amazon and got the following codes:
P1120 : Throttle Position Sensor Out of Range
P0355: Ignition Coil “E” Primary/Secondary Circuit
Coil E is for Cylinder 5, or the drivers side most front one.
Parts were ordered, full list below and I decided to take video of the install.
The set of Coils and Plugs from Walmart did not fit properly and will be returned. I did discover a loose connector on Coil E and got the debris out so it now snaps solidly in place. Hopefully that fixes the P0355 error.
The TPS replacement was completed, but I'm pretty sure I got a cheap knockoff and not a real Dephi part from Amazon.
Parts List with Links:
Hood Lift Support Shock Struts $16: https://amzn.to/3YMPpf3
MOTOPOWER MP69033 Car OBD2 Scanner $20: https://amzn.to/3qwgwy7
Delphi SS10387 Throttle Position Sensor (PROBABLY FAKE) $32: https://amzn.to/3QzEqmU

Permatex 81343 Anti-Seize Lubricant $5: https://amzn.to/3YB0TSv
Spark Gap Gauge $3: https://amzn.to/45c4rNO
Not linking the wrong coils from Walmart, cuz that won't help you.

What Breed of Rooster is Smokey?
Just in case you'd rather read than listen to my pre-coffee ramblings, here is the brief origin story of Smokey the Roo.
Before the flock expansion, we had One Black Americauna (I will spell this wrong several times) Rooster, One Black Americauna hen, and 3 Blue Laced Red Wyondotte Hens.
The Black hen lays blue eggs, the Reds lay brown eggs.
In February 2023 we incubated and hatched 3 blue eggs and 5 brown eggs, Smokey emerged from a Blue egg.
All the other chicks came out Black, apparently being the dominant gene, Smokey came out Grey.
After a few minutes of googling, I found out that some Black Americaunas have recessive Lavender genes, which was apparently the case with Smokey's mom and dad.
Smokey's dad, who was a real asshole, has been rehomed and is no longer part of the flock.
In the spring I'll be hatching another batch of chicks. As the current flock should have a mix of recessive Red and Lavender genes, we should see an interesting mix of color mutations in the second generation.
Five of the 8 new chickens are commonly called Easter Eggers which is the generic name for any Ameicauna cross breed, due to the fact they will lay blue or green eggs. I am unable to tell which eggs any of the other chickens came from, because they all looked nearly identical for the first several weeks of their lives. Smokey obviously stood out in the crowd.
