Check the prior well project videos for the full well water test results. Basically my plan is to treat the water inside the well in the same method an anode rod works in a water heater. Seeing how I can't source a 2 inch thick calcium rod, I'm using a 3 inch piece of drainage pipe with a bunch of holes in it to suspend about 40 pounds of marble chips above the well pump. Not sure if this plan will work, but for about $50 in materials, it seems like its worth a shot. More to come...

I was going to tack it on the end of this, but the editing is gonna take a long time and I really need advise on how to remove the acidity of the well water. Buck discontinued the Redpoint Rescue, which was my every day carry knife for about 6 years. I was searching around for a replacement with the same locking mechanism and found the Hexam 261 and ordered it. There is also a Hexam 262 which has an aluminum frame, but I prefer grippy over slippery. Judging the size of things on Amazon at 3 in the morning can be a bit tricky, but so far I really like this knife, even tho it will take up a bit more space in the pocket. If anyone knows what that other pipe might be, please let me know in the comments. Ran the well til it was clear yesterday, took about 4 hours. This morning when I started the pump, got a nice blast of orange nastyness. So today I figured I'd run the hose connected to public water down the well and see what I can flush out. Defiantly gonna see a spike in next months water bill. I was running the pump at the same time I was overflowing the top of the well, getting lots of orange out of the pump. Also discovered the well has a nice 6x6 foot cement base which I dug out a bit. Taking a break and uploading this video, will post progress updates as they happen.

I ran the pump for about 4 hours today, and the water has turned from nasty brown to a less nasty yellow tint. The pump will fill a 5 gallon bucket in 4 minutes, so the claims of 1.25 GPM seem to be very accurate. For now the pump is being powered off a Kobalt 40v battery running thru a 13.8 volt converter. More info on that can be found in the playlist above. Getting about 2 hours of run time off of a 4 AH battery. Next step is testing the water to see if its safe to consume. I'll continue to flush the well thruout the week. If it safe then I'll probably invest in a solar panel and a holding tank. We are on public water so this well project is mainly to create an emergency backup water supply should things go sideways. Any advise or comments are always appreciated. First Water Test Results: Note: this test was done with a freshwater aquarium test kit, which 'expired' in 2017, so accuracy is questionable, but it's what I had on hand. I'll be getting an 'official' test kit soon. Nitrite, NO2: 0 ppm Nitrate, NO3, 0 ppm NOTE: The color was not quite the 0 Yellow, but significantly lighter than the 5 ppm Orange, so 0ish... PH: 6.0 PH of our Tap Water: 6.6 Ammonia: 0 ppm TASTE TEST: Slight Iron/Dirt flavor when compared to Tap. The 0 ppm Nitrate and Nitrite at least let me know there is not a rotting raccoon in the well, so I figured it was safe to taste test a few ounces of the water. I'll be adding a Sediment Filter to capture some of the Clay/Silt/Iron particles shortly. I also tested using a Black and Decker 20V Max battery thru the same board and it powered it fine. Amp draw at the battery was about 3.5 amps, no change in amp draw from the pump. This pump will be going down an old well located on my property that was drilled in the 1960s. I am assuming it is about 400 feet deep, but have only confirmed 100 feet cuz that is how long my longest tape measure is. Water level in the well is about 10 feet below grade. The plan is to drop this pump about 75 feet down the well so I can have an emergency source of water should there be an interruption in the public water supply for any reason. The pump is 12 volts, so it can be run off a car battery, solar panel, or the testing rig that I thru together. This old toolbox has been sitting on the floor of my garage for a couple of years acting as a catch all for whatever got put on it. It was bugging me for a while and today, with the help of 4 two by fours, 44 inchs of four by four and a few screws, I decided to turn this into a table with a storage area underneath. I actually impressed myself with how well this turned out with very little effort. I might add some shelves and stuff down the road to make a bit more storage space under it. 3:10 PM, 9/7/23, I'm watching my security cam and I see a SUV parked at the end of my driveway. I head out to see what up and see some methheads carrying rolls of CAT5 cable from my neighbors place and tossing it in the back of the SUV. I yell "Hey Dumbass, You're on Camera" and they took off. First part is raw from the Security DVR, then it replays with a bit of Zoom.

I got an email asking if I would 'Feature' this product in a video. I replied with a warning that if they were junk I wouldn't hide that fact and the folks at Hisim sent me what you see in this video. The kit contains 9 cups, 9 PVC Tees, 9 Nipples and a drill bit, not a bad deal for $17. I purchased 5 of the Lil Clucker brand about 9 months ago. 2 of them started leaking and one was destroyed by a spastic rooster. I had hoped that these would be a good cheap alternative to recommend to my channel. The PVC Tess and Nipples are mostly fine, however 3 of the cups that I installed were bad on the day of install. 2 would not shut off, and one was squirting a stream of water over the top of the cup. A 33% failure rate on the date of install is not something I can recommend. @LilClucker you win again.
