Human Ken Doll: I Want To Look Like A 'Wolf' | HOOKED ON THE LOOK
THE ORIGINAL ‘Human Ken Doll’ Justin Jedlica is back! Justin, who famously appeared on the first episode of ‘Botched’ in 2014, has undergone some 1,000 cosmetic procedures worth over $1 million. Justin, who started his first cosmetic procedure at the age of 18, saw plastic surgery as the key to the elite circle and glitzy LA lifestyle. Although the Human Ken Doll title saw him rising to fame and becoming a household name, Justin said it was never his intention to be the Human Ken Doll. "I think it kind of demeans how much effort I put into learning about the human body and learning about plastic surgery," Justin said. "Dare I say I don't love the title, but in a way, it's given me a lot. So all I could do is take it and run with it and monetise on it." Calling himself the ‘pioneer of male cosmetic artistry’, Justin is always on the hunt for the next innovative procedure. The chase to fame also feels like an endless cycle - Justin admitted that he felt like with every new procedure, he had to ‘go bigger, riskier to get people’s attention’. Now Justin is getting a $72,000 'wolf masculinisation' with multiple facial implants and face lifts, incisions into his face. When asked about the surgery's potential fatal risks, Justin claimed: "If I was to die, it would be dying for something I love!"

My 'Turkey Teeth' Nearly Killed Me | SHAKE MY BEAUTY
AFTER giving birth to her baby boy, pregnancy hormones had caused some serious damage to Amanda's teeth and she required dental work. Around this time, adverts on social media were popping up on the mum's phone, encouraging her to fly to Istanbul and get a Hollywood smile makeover. She told Truly: "Does it not make sense to have a full mouth of beautiful teeth? I would be pain-free, my life would be back to normal and I would be able to enjoy being a parent again?" But when Amanda landed in Turkey, the treatment she experienced was nothing like what she had anticipated. She revealed: "I was sold a dream and I was delivered an absolute nightmare." Enduring painful procedures and ending up with a botched smile, Amanda admitted: "I was in shock, I had no idea that's what was going to happen." Back in the UK, Amanda had to shell out even more money to get her teeth corrected, undergoing a process that took 60 hours in the chair. In this episode of Shake My Beauty, we'll hear the horror that Amanda experienced and why she wants others to seriously think before they consider opting for dental tourism. She said: "My message to the world is, no smile is worth dying for, no trend is worth following to be left in life-threatening situations."

My Family Refuse To Be Seen With Me | HOOKED ON THE LOOK
HORROR FILM lover Cat Nguyen has transformed herself into what she calls a 'gothic barbie'. The glamour model from Orange County, California, has spent over $100,000 on modifying her body. She embarked on her plastic surgery journey at the age of 19 after her 'boss promised to double her pay if she got a boob job'. Not everyone in Cat's life was supportive of her decision - especially her family, Cat told truly. "My family hates my plastic surgery. They don't want anything to do with it. They don't want to be seen with me in public looking like this. That makes me feel very sad because I love my parents." Growing up in a conservative American-Vietnamese household, Cat felt like her parents 'had full control over her life' until she went to college where she was able to 'spread my wings and wild out'. Although Cat is now happy with her looks, she hopes that her family would accept and support her one day. "If my parents ever decide to support my plastic surgery, that is gonna be the happiest thing in my life," she added.

I Can't Walk - So I Became A Mermaid | BORN DIFFERENT
HELENA, based in Virginia, is a professional mermaid with a unique story. She has a progressive condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), which causes damage to her nerves and has, over time, resulted in her losing her ability to walk. When she was first diagnosed at the age of 14, Helena says she had "never even heard of it" and "didn't know anyone with CMT at all - I felt pretty alone for a while". When she then lost her ability to walk around 10 years ago, Helena remembers going through a "grieving period", having previously been very physically active. As Helena struggled to adapt to the effects of her life-changing condition, a physiotherapist introduced her to the world of mermaiding, pointing out that swimming was a great way of staying active. Helena immediately dove in and found a new sense of freedom in the underwater world: "I really enjoyed being a mermaid and the way people reacted to me as a mermaid - it was about me and not just about my wheelchair." Helena The Mermaid was born. Since she embarked on her new career, Helena's husband of 11 years, Darren, has been a constant source of support - travelling to fairs and festivals with her, helping her get in and out of her mermaid tail and shooting photos for her social media. He told Truly: "I love when she has photoshoots because it's an opportunity for her to spread awareness and also a chance for the world to see how beautiful she is." But Helena has received her fair share of negativity too - online she has had people telling her to "just stand up" and, in person, a nurse questioned why Darren married her and asked if Helena had "tricked him" into marrying her. None of that has deterred Helena though and her business continues to go from strength to strength. She has spent $10,000 so far on mermaid costumes and recently built a magical "lagoon" in her back garden, where she and her mermaid friends create an enchanting world for children to get lost in: "I love the kids when they see me, I can see the lights in their eyes!" When we followed Helena to her latest photoshoot, she told Truly: "Mermaiding has changed my life, it has made me more open, proud of who I am and confident in myself." And whilst Helena knows she will have to retire from mermaiding one day, when her condition eventually makes it too difficult to take to the water, she says she'll "always be a mermaid at heart".

Losing Our Limbs Saved Our Lives | BORN DIFFERENT
PARALYMPIC power couple Madie and Jordan met at the World Championships in Dubai in 2019. Madie, a long jump specialist competing under the flag of her native Canada, spotted Team Ireland high jumper, Jordan, in a post on Instagram and met him down at the track. Jordan told Truly: "I went over to Dubai to win a medal, but came back with a girlfriend." However, the road that led the two athletes to representing their countries was anything but smooth... 26-year-old Madie developed Meningitis when she was three and was rushed to hospital, where doctors gave her a "less than 2% chance" of survival. To save her life, both of her legs were amputated below the knee, as well as four fingers on her left hand. Madie also lost her hearing in one ear, but pulled through against all the odds, as she told Truly: "It's pretty much a miracle that I'm here today." Jordan, 23, was born without his left forearm due to Amniotic Band Syndrome - the umbilical cord wrapped around his elbow in the womb, cutting off the circulation to the rest of his arm. He remembers realising he was "different from everybody else from a very young age". And as a result of their limb differences, the pair each had hurdles to overcome growing up. Madie was turned away from numerous sports clubs due to her disability and Jordan was called a "monster" by other children, as well as being constantly doubted by people around him. And the couple still face misconceptions to this day, including "holy people" asking whether Jordan's hand will ever grow back. As he bluntly told Truly: "No it's not going to ****ing grow back, it's not a ****ing plant!" The couple have bottled this judgement and used it as motivation to "prove the haters and doubters wrong" as they have embarked on their athletic careers. Jordan holds the title of the first ever one-handed basketball player to represent their country on the international stage, after competing for Ireland in 2015. And now, with a strict training regime in place, the couple have their sights set on Track and Field world domination. As their coach, Tomas, told Truly, disability isn't even a factor any more when it comes to judging their athletic prowess: "Both of them would pride themselves as representing Para sport on a level playing pitch with 'able-bodied' [sport]". With the World Championships returning this year and next year's Paralympics close behind, Madie's "never say can't" tattoo is a constant reminder of everything the couple have been through and what they have the potential to achieve. But regardless of where they place in their events, Madie suggests that they have already won: "I got to meet Jordan through this sport, I wouldn't change it for the world, I absolutely love it."

Disowned Because Albinism Brings 'Bad Luck' | SHAKE MY BEAUTY
WHEN Xueli, 18, was born with albinism, her parents gave her up for adoption. Speaking to Truly, she explained: "I was abandoned because in China some people believe that albinism brings bad luck to their families." This led to Xueli being adopted and relocating to the Netherlands, where she has grown up. Speaking about the experience, Xueli said: "It's very hard but it strengthens me in getting more life experience. Because my parents did this, they gave me strength. They gave me an opportunity to live in a country that is accepting of people with albinism." Over the years, Xueli struggled with her identity and her mum, Joeke, explained: "It was important for her to find out who she really is and to become herself." Nowadays, Xueli is a model and has worked with many top brands, as well as gracing the pages of Vogue. Speaking about the importance of diversity in modelling, Xueli said: "I can represent other people who have a disability and are searching for that recognition." In this episode of Shake My Beauty, we'll be following the model - who is a UNESCO Goodwill ambassador - as she talks at a UN/UNESCO event to mark International Albinism Awareness Day. Reflecting on her journey, Xueli said: "Beauty to me is more on the inside, that you are a kind person to everyone and that you respect everyone's disability or disadvantage."

I've Been Pregnant For 19 Years | MY EXTRAORDINARY FAMILY
ZOE, 44, from Scotland, is a mum of 12 who has been pregnant for 19 years of her life. With the help of husband Ben, the couple have brought 12 children into the world and are known as one of Scotland's largest families. Having 12 children to look after can be quite the challenge, the couple told Truly: "When you've got 14 people living under one roof there's a lot going on. Shopping is expensive, we're coming into summer and I've already budgeted all the way up to Christmas!" Even with the loving yet slightly chaotic home that Zoe and Ben have created for their kids, online trolls have been quick to target their family. They said: "We get negativity for having a large family, it's like someone personally attacking you. 'Stop buying some much cr*p and you'll be able to pay what you owe'. 'Your baby is obviously just your cash cow'. 'You and him should be ashamed of yourselves'." However, despite the online hate the family have received, Zoe and Ben love their large family and think the hate only strengthens them. They added: "We're very very happy with the children we've got, the family we've created and that's why we share it."

My Husband Died - Now I Love His Brother | MY EXTRAORDINARY FAMILY
KAITLIN, from New Hampshire, has recently faced a lot of judgement after revealing on her social media that she was in a relationship with her dead husband’s brother. Kaitlin was married to her husband Aaron for four years and had a son together. They both developed a drug addiction which made their relationship unhealthy and caused troubles in their marriage. When Kaitlin went to rehab to get clean, Aaron sadly passed away in 2016 from an overdose. While grieving, Kaitlin found comfort speaking with her husband’s brother Rory, which was a surprise as he wasn’t fond of her when she was married to his brother. While grieving, the two became close and fell for each other. They were hesitant to let their families know about the relationship and when they did, there was a lot of shock at first, especially from Aaron and Rory’s mother, who never thought Kaitlin and Rory would be close or get together. After sharing her story online, Kaitlin received a lot of negative comments on her videos, with many people calling her 'sick', but it doesn’t bother them. Rory told Truly: “Something bad happened to her and something bad happened to me and we ended up finding comfort in one another so the negativity doesn’t do anything to us." Kaitlin and Rory have now been together for seven years, have two children of their own and are raising their children from previous relationships together.

130lbs Down - Now I'm Renewing My Vows | BRAND NEW ME
WHITNEY King, 32, from Montana, lost her dad to ALS-Lou Gehrig's, a rare progressive disease at the age of 11. From his terminal diagnosis when she was six years old, Whitney began to gain weight, using food as a comfort. By the end of high school, she weighed 230lbs. After meeting her husband, the couple had a miscarriage, causing Whitney to gain more weight. She told Truly: "My relationship with food when I was overweight was not good, I was an emotional eater." Continuing she said: "I had thoughts [that] I'm not good enough, I'm not worthy enough. When I first met my husband, I thought 'why would he even want to be with me?'" At her heaviest, Whitney weighed 269lbs. Then in 2014, the couple managed to have their first child. Thinking of her dad, Whitney didn’t want her son to grow up without a parent as she had done. "Going through the pregnancy with my oldest son made me have that light bulb go off to where I was like, 'I need to lose the weight'." When her baby was two months old Whitney decided to put her health and the future of her family first: "I thought I can't be selfish, I can't leave you. I know how traumatic that was without a parent." Through a combination of home workouts and careful portion control, Whitney lost a total of 130lbs. She has three stepkids and three biological children, always working around them to make her weight loss last. Now she wants to inspire other mothers and show that it’s possible to lose weight naturally. When she was starting her fitness journey she would post "in a lot of fit fitness groups on Facebook, I'd post my progress pictures and I would get tons of messages from women asking for help asking what I ate, asking what exercises I did," she explained. Two years ago she decided to turn her passion into a business and started coaching women on the same path as her. In this episode of Brand New Me Whitney compares her size now to the wedding dress she once wore, with plans to renew her vows with her husband. "On my wedding day, like I felt miserable, uncomfortable," she said. "It should be a happy day and you feel confident and loved. And I did feel loved, but I didn't love myself." Whitney finally goes dress shopping for the big day ahead, to get the gown she desires to show off her new look and life.
