Trent's Trail Cam

A fox wandering around the backyard near the water hole, Discovers the water dish is empty, and eventually decides to raid the birdbath. After drinking all the water in the birdbath, The same fox or another fox comes back to the water hole to check to see if there is any water in the water dish again. Those crazy foxes. These clips were taken on Saturday, July 16th, 2022, around 8:35 AM and 9:25 AM.

Four raccoons raid the water hole after dark, only to find out that the water dish is empty. So, of course, the raccoons ransack the place. Off they go to the next yard to see what kind of mischief they can get into. This video clip was captured by the trail cam on Sunday, July 10th, 2022, at about 4:56 AM.

A deer stops by the watering hole to grab a drink of water. At one point, he discovers he is being watched. He suddenly spots the trail camera spying on him and moves in closer to get a look. After figuring the trail cam will not respond back to him, he moves along, grazing on the grass as he slowly moves away. These three video clips were captured by the trail cam on Saturday, July 9th, 2022, around 2:20 PM.

Here are a few video clips I came across from back in June. A few clips of the foxes frequenting the water hall, and another one of a raccoon passing through the backyard, looks like he was going towards the sewer opening. Perhaps someday I could move the trail camera down there into the sewer. ha ha Video clips taken June 12th - 14th, 2022.

This is a video made up of several clips of the foxes activity in late May. One of the baby foxes jumps up on the leaf bags and walks across all of them, feeling accomplished when he gets to the end. A few other foxes run through the field. The last a baby fox comes across one of his fox parents relaxing in the grass, and ends up getting scolded. These clips were captured by the trail camera on Friday, May Saturday, 27th and 28th, 2022.

This video is made up of several older clips that were captured by the trail camera back in late May. In May the sibling foxes were still smallish in size, and very rambunctiousness and playful. They really took to the leaf bags that we put over there along the fence line. They loved to jump around on the leaf bags and lay on them basking in the sun. Many of times the younger foxes would wrestle each other, playing “King Of The Leaf Bags”. The mama fox would stand guard, facing my house, in case I came out to to disturb their play. These four video clips were taken by the trail camera on Saturday, May 21st, 2022, around 5:10 PM.

Woosh! This fox passes by the trail camera so fast he forgets to stop to take a drink. He must have been in a hurry for something important. This is a video clip from the trail camera from months ago, that I happened upon. It is from back when the leaf bags were still out there in the backyard. This video clip was taken by the trail camera on Saturday, June 4th, 2022, and about 6:44 AM.

Three raccoons show up at the water hole late one night and begin to ransack and defile the joint. As one raccoon leaves, he tries to attack the trail camera. Early in the morning before the sun arises, two foxes tangle out in the field. It is hard to tell if they are actually fighting, or just dancing the Tango together. They separate and one chases off to the right. Moments later, they show up once again in the field, charge each other, then one chases off the other to the left. Another fox comes out of hiding and chases after them. These clips were captured by the trail camera on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, about 5:50 AM. Two foxes hang out at the tree trunk. One jumps up on the tree trunk, and soon after the other one jumps up on it as well. One leaves the scene for a moment, while the other one relaxes on the trunk. On a sunny morning, three foxes amuse themselves by playing a game of Follow The Leader. During their play, the leader stops by the water hole to grab a quick drink before moving on. Groundhog Phil finally makes another appearance at the water hole. He shows up three out of four days and hogs the tree stump from the other animals. It seems like Phil likes to sit up top of the tree stump and catch a nice breeze blowing by. The tree stop being in the shade, groundhog Phil must not be seeing his shadow lately. Kid Fox and one of his siblings stops by the water hole for a drink. Kid Fox gets a devious idea, and Wonders off towards the bird bath in the distance to carry out his devious deed. Once he approaches the bird bath, he jumps up on top of it, crouches down and take the third right in the birdbath. Who does this??! I think he knew he was on camera, and decided to do something that would go viral! Not only do foxes, squirrels, deer, groundhogs, and raccoons frequent the water hole, but so do the birds. When the trail camera Motion sensor is set on high, it also captures these little feathery critters enjoying a sip at the water hole.

A few clips of the foxes passing by the trail camera on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022. Some of the foxes stop by for a quick drink of water at the water hole. One of them tries to pounce on something, but doesn’t get what he was hoping for, and disappears. Another one of the adult foxes approaches my house once again during the daytime. Look for the bird doing a quick flyby in one of the clips.

A raccoon in a bad mood jumps on top of the tree stump to cool off. Along comes another raccoon who is looking to quench his thirst at the water hole, but the first raccoon takes offense of his approach, and jumps down to attack him to prevent him from having a drink. After the angry raccoon is tired of harassing the other raccoon, he decides to take his anger out on the trail camera, which is capturing the whole incident. He reaches up with his paws, and topples the camera down to the ground. Once he figures out that the camera isn’t something he can eat or use, he decides to walk away to focus his anger issues on something else. If you look closely, you can see a third raccoon creeping into the frame late in the video. If this goes to court, he most likely will be the only eye witness. This footage was captured on Thursday, July 7th, 2022 to about 5:30 AM.
