Volcann BBQ Folding Grill - REVIEW
Volcann BBQ on Amazon (mild steel): https://geni.us/PnhVE
Larger size on Amazon (mild steel): https://geni.us/jlFv9lE
Larger size on Ebay (mild steel): https://ebay.us/95645C
Stainless steel version (the one I have): https://ebay.us/4Vm5C5
This is a really great grill and as you can see it is easily big enough to cook 4 burgers and 8 sausages which would be fine for a family of 4 unless they are gigantic 'human whale' beasts. If so then there is a larger version available.
The version I have is stainless steel but there is also a mild steel version available which would need to be cleaned and oiled regularly to prevent rust.

Best Bug Out / Survival Rifle? Probably.....
Please share this video with anyone who may be interested - the YouTube algorithms (censorship) won't help this one....
*Links and time stamps below*
Being able to harvest food is becoming increasingly more important as we slip into a Global(ist) food (engineered) 'crisis'.
Most people don't grow any food and have no idea where to forage or hunt but learning these skills is not only good for personal development and health it could be a life saver.
All too often guns / firearms are portrayed in a negative light due to the many tragic events in the US but strip away the superficial mainstream story and a familiar pattern of dangerous pharmaceuticals, FBI 'monitoring' of the shooter(s) and deeply disturbed people emerges - this video is not to make light of any of those events or to investigate deeper into them. It is to show responsible gun ownership and explain that a tool used to harvest food which has been demonized for political agendas can be part of a perfectly normal existence.....maybe not the 'New Normal' though....
The rifle in this video is a Ruger 10/22 Takedown (stainless version) and the stock is a Magpul X-22 Backpacker.
Light is Olight PL-Pro Valkyrie and is 1500 lumens.
Links for gear shown in the video:

Huntsman Swiss Army knife: https://geni.us/wCvxUi

From the backpacks I've tested the following will easily hold the this rifle but bear in mind that the barrel has been shortened allowing me to leave the silencer / moderator on.
Maxpedition Gyrfalcon
Maxpedition Zafar
Snugpak Rocket
Karrimor Sabre 45
My favorite of those packs is the Maxpedition Zafar but it is difficult to find now - you may have to pick one up second hand - I did.

In a survival / bug out / SHTF situation the .22LR caliber rifle allows for quiet hunting without ruining the food and less noise = less attention.
A 30-06 or other large caliber rifle may be great for hunting Moose, large Deer or Bear and an AR-15 may be great if things go Mad Max but for the hunting of small game the .22LR reigns supreme.
If you think I did a decent job please share and give it the thumbs up.
Thanks for watching - see you next time.

Small Solar Power Water Pump Review
This is a small pump I bought on Ebay but it is also available on Amazon. Links below.
Solar powered water pump (Ebay): https://ebay.us/U7ofCD
Solar powered water pump (Amazon): https://geni.us/M22pjdB
The pump is the 200 lph / 1.5W version.

New Solar powered Hydroponics System
Solar powered water pump (Ebay): https://ebay.us/U7ofCD
Solar powered water pump (Amazon): https://geni.us/M22pjdB
The pump is the 200 lph / 1.5W version.
All of the pipes and fittings can be bought from a good DIY store or koi dealer / decent garden centre aquatic store and most of mine came from Kockney Koi: https://bit.ly/3HoMaS2
They are a wholesaler but I have linked to the product guide so you can see what the parts are called. Most are toward the back of the catalog.
The swimming noodle I made the plant holders can be found here: https://geni.us/D0639 - it is important to go for the hollow version as it has a hole down the middle.
I will do a review video and closer look at the small solar pump so look out for that video. It would be very handy to have for if / when the grid goes down.
Thanks for watching.

500w Rockpals Solar Generator - Preparing for a Grid Failure
https://www.rockpals.com/products/rockpower-500w-portable-power-station
https://www.rockpals.com/products/rockpals-100w-foldable-solar-panel
Although this version is geared for US use I can use it no problem by using a step up converter and converter plug. The converter plugs can be bought all over the internet very cheaply and the step up power converter can be found here:
Step up converter (Amazon): https://geni.us/PYRWP0q (comes with plug converters for universal use).
While the storage battery has all the features you'd expect I was particularly impressed with the 100w folding solar panel which came with this kit as it seems to have a very good efficiency / conversion rate compared to other folding panels I have previously bought.
Next sunny day I will make a separate video showing the various folding solar panel options and compare the efficiency of them as the Rockpals panel is noticeably good.
At the time of upload Rockpals only make the solar generators with US plugs but if you're outside the US that is not a problem as long as you have a converter like the type linked to above.
The prices of Rockpals gear is very good compared to the competition so they're well worth checking out and I'm sure they will produce a version with UK plugs soon.
I'm very pleased with both the storage generator and the folding solar panel so it is a good option for if (when) the grid goes down.
Thanks for watching - check out my other videos and I'll see you in the next one.

Night Vision In Full Colour?? - Duovox Mate Pro Colour Night Vision Camera
Duovox Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/duovox/duovox-mate-pro?ref=59ypu8
Manfrotto tripod (Amazon): https://geni.us/GYCyR
It's a shame that the video here on YouTube doesn't do justice to how impressive this camera is and please bear in mind that the footage here was captured on a moonless night out in the country to really test the camera abilities.
The above link has a video from Duovox which shows footage where some sort of remote or weak light source is in effect and the resulting footage is better.....they probably have better editing software than me too, lol
I found the recorded footage to be best when the camera was tripod mounted to prevent movement blur and even with very minimal light the recordings are impressive.
If you check out this video from around the 04:00 mark you will see the day / night comparison footage and there is one where a security light comes on and then whole scene lights up like day.
For recording in urban environments where there are many more sources of artificial light this camera produces day-like footage (as seen in other reviewer's videos) so would be fantastic for recording there.
I will do a follow-up video the next time there is a clear sky and a full moon to show what can be achieved with only moonlight as a light source.
If you're interested in finding out more check out the above link.
Thanks for watching.

Chicken Coop and Run - a bit more toward self sufficiency......
Just a short video showing what I've been working on for the last month or so.
Solar powered shed light (Amazon): https://geni.us/6BW56
Shed vents (Amazon): https://geni.us/xyXk7P
All the fencing is pressure treated but since anything useful for preserving wood has been removed from the 'treatment' due to ecomentalism I coated everything with creosote - it's the difference between having the posts last for 5-6 years and 20+ years.
Big difference.
The hen coop was made from an 8' x 6' shed I've had for many years and the conversion was easy.
The eggs have beautiful orange yolks as I feed the hens a varied diet and supplement with leafy greens from the garden (cabbage, lettuce, swiss chard etc.)
Having a reliable egg supply added to the organic vegetable supply is a great boost and something I've been planning for many years but never had the correct part of my site developed until recently. Some of the land was leveled by a mini digger and I dug the rest out by hand.
Since there is a war on food actively being waged by every govern-ment to create the next engineered 'crisis' it makes perfect sense to plan and take steps to not get involved in their 'Food Chain Reaction Game' (look it up.....).
.........................................................................
Extensive Vegetable gardens?
Double glazed greenhouse with hydroponic systems?
60+ fruit trees planted around the property?
Spring fed pond full of Trout and Crayfish?
Off grid solar system?
Generator input to house?
Means to shoot, hunt, trap and fish?
.........................................................................
I'm gradually ticking off projects on the list but what you see in my videos has taken 20+ years to create.
It's a great shame that the events of early 2020 were necessary to shake some people awake (and now they're playing catch up) but the effects of that have been fantastic to see with so many people now growing their own food, learning about 'alternative' ways of living and being less reliant on our govern-ment which were regarded as perfectly normal 50+ years ago.
Govern (to control) Ment (movement / mind).........makes sense when you look at the Latin root words....
How are your plans going?

Hydroponic Vertical Growing Towers - How I Made Mine
Sorry, this is a long one but it is very detailed.
Bosch heat gun (Amazon): https://geni.us/I9vB
The growing towers were a failure last year as I didn't have any way of testing the nutrient level - I basically killed my plants with an overdose of nutrients but this year I'm tooled up and prepared.....things are very different and all is good.
4" white pipes: Available from plumbers merchants and on ebay
Stands / shelving for system: https://ebay.us/FQhI7a
The stands are available in lots of variations but these are the ones I bought since they are powder coated to protect against rust.
The pump I am using is a (very) old Oase Nautalis 3000 which is probably around 25 years old - still going strong.
The USB 4-way splitter for powering the USB fans and USB lights can be found here: https://geni.us/pMzxIk
K1 micro media used for the mesh bags of media in the top of each tower - it supports only aerobic bacteria so processes the ammonia and nitrite but generates nitrate which is used by the plants: https://filterpro.co.uk/k1-micro-1-litre-24-p.asp
The 2" solvent pipe, rubber fittings, pipe joiners, taps and solvent glue were bought from Kockney Koi as I have an account with them but similar products can be found all over the internet.
I like Kockney Koi as they don't fanny about with nonsense - they just sell stuff which works.
I recently bought an electronic test stick to make sure I get the nutrient levels correct and also picked up a couple of nutrient solutions formulated for leaf growth from North East Hydroponics: https://northeasthydro.com/ as I was passing one day and . Next video will discuss the nutrients, show how the test stick works and explain why it is a very important piece of kit.
When I tested the water in the reservoir which supplies the vertical growing towers it was off the scale so maybe I should have bought a test stick this time last year.....
If anyone is interested and lives local feel free to call in any time to see the systems (and share any tips) that's no worries - just give me a ring first for directions.

NFT Hydroponics System Update and Harvest + Other Hydroponics in UK
The NFT hydroponics system has done great over the Winter and it's harvest time for the Chinese cabbage / Napa cabbage - they are HUGE and some have bolted as the greenhouse gets might warm on a sunny day.
The greenhouse s unheated but it's double glazed - basically a conservatory attached to a shed so it holds heat very well.
This video also has an update on the Kratky method of hydroponics (where I'm growing lettuce and onions) and the vertical growing towers which have more than a few lettuce in them.
The propagator in the video is a Geopod (Large size) with 100w heater in the base and 2 x Sunblaster lights.
Nutrients used in the hyrdoponics systems are from Intense Nutrients and are Hydro Grow part A + B.
I bought the nutrients and test stick from North East Hydroponics http://www.northeasthydro.com
Next project is to have the NFT system planted up with micro tomato plants since the weather will get warmer soon and I would like a good long growing season for them - they produce heavy crops of small tasty tomatoes.
I also have a nation of other types of tomato, chilli and pepper seeds planted so the greenhouse will be a forest again this year.
Thanks for watching - see you next time.

Brabantia Wall Mounted Folding Clothes Drier Review
Available on Amazon: https://geni.us/BUa6
This video may not seem to have anything to do with bushcraft, gardening, self-sufficiency or prepping but being able to dry clothes for free in all conditions saves money.
With the current (rising) cost of electricity everything we can do to save money is important.
We use the washing machine, dishwasher, cooker etc. during the day while our solar panels (12.6kW system) are producing plenty of power and the charged batteries feed the house on a night - that provides most of our electric needs during the Summer, not so much in the Winter due to the short days up North.

Allpowers Solar Generator 500 / 606 - Review .... It's Good.
Another excellent solar generator - Awesome. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to safeguard power in the event of a power grid failure.
Allpowers 500 / 606 battery and solar panel: https://geni.us/MwwZV
Allpowers 500 / 606 storage battery: https://geni.us/jfTQ
Allpowers standard solar panel 100W: https://geni.us/ZDgLVI2
Allpowers multi-folding 100W panel: https://geni.us/fJE5V1
I love being prepared and having a couple of solar generators and multiple solar panels leaves me with a satisfying 'prepared' sort of feeling.
I already have a 12.6kW main solar system and 11.6 kW of battery storage but having the convenience of mobile batteries and multiple options for solar panel charging allows me to be prepared for every possible 'crisis' ...... as long as the sun keeps shining.
The Allpowers 500 / 606 kW system is very compact and the generator / storage unit is surprisingly small and packed with features - I love the countdown to extinction and the countdown to full charge as that information would be essential in a 'grid-down' / survival situation.
If you're after a system which will power small electronics and low consumption lighting this is perfect but if you're needing more storage then there is a 2000W version coming soon.
Check out my other videos as they deal with preparedness, survival, organic food production, bushcraft etc.... basically useful stuff you may need to know for if (when) things turn to crap.

Fishing Pond, Solar Power, NFT Growing System and other stuff....
An update on the stock pond, garden, solar system and greenhouse where I'm being reasonably successful with growing food during the Winter.
Water pumps used in the NFT system: https://bit.ly/3KMXPvg
North East Hydroponics: https://northeasthydro.com/
Big thanks to SCOTT from North East Hydroponics........my memory is awful as I called him Carl or Kyle in this video...
I will do another update once I get the propagator set up and have some lettuce planted into the vertical growing systems.
By then the NFT system will have probably been harvested and have different types of plants in.
There will also be another update coming when the habitat is in place for the hens.
I'm loving learning how to grow edible plants in the Winter as that's providing food for my family as well as knowledge of what systems work best and what system needs the least energy input - electricity costs are crazy so it may be time for me to consider getting a decent size wind power generator installed to complement the solar system I already have......
The following is important for anyone seeking to be less reliant on established infrastructure and questing greater independence / better preparedness for any 'crisis' which may occur so that's what I'm working toward - if you're relying on the state for your existence they have you in their pocket.
Grow organic food all year for maximum nutrition and health
Ability to shoot, hunt, fish, trap wild game
Knowledge to locate wild food, medicinal plants and fungi
Food preservation
Creating permaculture / food forest
Generate power to supplement / supply home
Working with Nature, not against
I'm certainly not an expert in anything and there is always so much to learn - the learning is the fun part.

DSOON Night Vision Binoculars - Are they any good? (Review)
Link to DSOON website: https://bit.ly/THOUSAND15OFF
Code: THOUSAND
Discount: 15% OFF for all products on the website.
Amazon link: https://geni.us/CWrhCfi
A big thanks to DSOON for sending the binoculars for testing - I'm impressed with them and they are a real leap over the previous night vision binoculars / monoculars I have experience of many years ago while out shooting with other people who owned them.
Back then the images were always a green fuzzy mess and practically useless for spotting wildlife at night but the DSOON binoculars are genuinely useful and the quality of image seems great to me although the 'real life' image while using doesn't always translate well to what is recorded - what looks perfectly in focus on the binoculars screen could be slightly out on the recorded image if the focusing isn't perfect.
However, it's still a decent quality image which is captured for the videos as you can see in the recorded video clips in this review.
I will get a small tripod connected to the binoculars and try to get some good footage of wildlife over the next few months as my local area is usually great for wildlife filming.
If you're looking for an option for viewing AND filming at night then I can definitely recommend the DSOON binoculars - thanks for watching.

Survival / Bug Out / Campervan / Family Water Filter - Demonstration and Features.
http://www.filterpro.co.uk Feel free to use any part of his video no problem.
Contact me for international shipping quote: sales@filterpro.co.uk
This is a proper water filter for people who want to prepare for if (when) the grid goes down and the water supply stops or for anyone who enjoys self reliance or owns a campervan.
We take clean water for granted in the 'developed' world but our infrastructure can be fragile or messed with as we've seen in the last year as we move into an age of manufactured crisis.
What does having a water filter on stand-by mean?
Well, the worst case scenario is that you have a water filter on stand-by in case anything happens to the water supply infrastructure, nothing happens and you still have a filter on stand-by for the future.
The best case scenario you've got clean drinking water when others are drinking contaminated water and dying from cholera or other dirty water conditions ....... It's a win/win when you're prepared but it's a lose/lose if you're not prepared and there is a huge difference between both scenarios - literally life and death as people all round the world who currently use these filters every day are well aware of.

Thanks to anyone who share his video and feel free to download it and upload to your channel - that's no worries as there is no copyright on his video and I will not chase you - just leave the video description intact if you upload it to your channel. Groovy.
Check out my other videos as self sufficiency is a massive part of what I do.
Preparing for potential hard times is what we used to do naturally but now through the enforced idiocy of media we're taught to regard that as being unusual - why did houses all used to have pantries or root cellars? Because people used to think for themselves....

Swedteam Track Jacket Review - Good Bushcraft Jacket?
Swedteam Track Jacket (Amazon): https://geni.us/cduLZMG
Nikwax (to waterproof jacket): https://geni.us/gy8p2TP
I really like this jacket as it's a great fit, well made and with the addition of some Nikwax is a good waterproof jacket for everyday use.
Pockets are where they should be, a decent size and zippered (chest, radio, internal and poachers pockets) or secured with press studs (waist pockets).
The hood is large enough to provide good protection for the face and accommodate a woolly hat under it. It can be closed up via the elasticated pull chords and folded away as rolled-up collar.
As you can see from the video part of this review the fit is good (for me) and I am approx. 5'9" tall and 13.5 stone - I went for size C52 which equated to a UK size of 'Large'.
That's the size I would generally go for when buying jackets, shirts and other upper body garments so it was good to find that the sizing was correct.
Unfortunately I bought my jacket from a popular auction site for close to twice the price it is on Amazon (£60) and I still considered that higher price to be good value - for the price it is now on Amazon it's excellent value.
If you're looking for a good jacket for bushcraft, hiking, fishing, shooting or other outdoor pursuits and want to save money then this is the one for you.
Thanks for watching.

New NFT Growing System for UK Greenhouse
I will keep you informed on how this goes - more videos to follow including the nutrient mix / testing, types of plants used and results / problems.
Dimensions of this system are approx. 2m (6'6") x 0.75m (30") and there are 22 holes for plants which are staggered to allow for maximum growing space.
Materials used for growing system:
2 x 450 lph (118 US gph) oxy water pump: https://filterpro.co.uk/450-lph-oxy-water-pump-73-p.asp
4 x 110mm (4") pipes
4 x 50mm (2") 90 degree bends
6 x 50mm (2") tee pieces
50mm (2") pipe
4 x 110mm to 50mm (4" to 2") rubber reducers
6m (20') of 10mm (3/8") internal diameter clear pipe
2 x 10mm (3/8") barbed tee pieces
2 x 12mm (1/2") flow control taps
Holes in the growing pipes are 45mm diameter to take a standard tapered 50mm (2") perforated pot.
Original video where I saw the foam being cut to hold plants: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXKfIASdSqM
From the all-knowing internet:
"Nutrient film technique (NFT) is a hydroponic technique where in a very shallow stream of water containing all the dissolved nutrients required for plant growth is re-circulated past the bare roots of plants in a watertight gully, also known as channels."

Telescopic Micro Pen Fishing Rod and Reel
This is a fantastic micro fishing set up but is surprisingly difficult to find now. Links below.
Usually the 'pen rods' are only available with terrible quality spinning reels or multiplier / bait-caster type reels which are even worse. The tiny multiplier reels are particularly bad quality and don't even function properly as a reel.
However, the 'fly reel' type of reel as shown here definitely works and has nothing to go wrong with it - that makes it the obvious choice for this sort of tiny set up.....if you can find it online.
It is great for a bug out bag or an extended survival kit.
This is the only listing I can currently find online which is at a decent price for the rod and reel shown in this video (Amazon): https://geni.us/shgkavH
I'd definitely recommend this set up as it packs down so small and functions perfectly well a demonstrated in the video.

This is a great set up for a small bag and it has the bonus of being good quality too - especially considering the price (which has risen recently).
Although I much prefer catching fish on the fly I carry this rod and reel every time I go fishing for times when the fish aren't interested in flies.
At the time I bought this rod and reel the reel was on offer on Ebay and I got both for under £10 which is crazy.

My son and myself have caught dozens of fish on this set up and part of me wishes that this didn't perform so well as I'd rather my son learned to fly fish but he loves using this rod....

Rotating Compost Maker Review
Rotating compost maker (Amazon): https://geni.us/cgVLS
Rotating compost maker (Ebay): https://ebay.us/hetMZk
Although this compost maker doesn't produce anywhere near as much compost as a 'proper' multi-bay composting system it does convert what I put into it very well ad will be perfect for compact gardens.
I was lucky enough to get 3 dumpy bags full of oak leaves and rotten oak branches so I crammed most of them in here, added garden waste from vegetable trimmings and also threw a few worms in there and let it do its thing.
Every week I was turning it at least twice to keep things mixed up and in a few months the results can be seen in this video.
I have no doubt that the compost produced here will do a cracking job in my vegetable beds or to pot tomatoes up into next year - they will love it.
While this may not be an 'essential' tool for the serious gardener it certainly makes a great job of producing compost with minimal effort and I appreciate that - I'd definitely recommend it.

16:50 Summary
18:44 First day use and some ranting about my 'off grid' solar system
The Jackery Explorer 1000 is a damn fine piece of kit and is keenly proceed considering other options for solar kits available online.
However, the prices (of everything) have recently gone up and with the way the world is now they will probably continue to rise so if you're planning to buy solar systems of any type to allow you to have off-grid power please don't leave it too late.
The main positives of the Jackey Explorer Solar system are as follows:
1 - It works very well, everything is in one package
2 - Simple set up, takes a couple of minutes
3 - Multiple outlets in AC and DC
4 - Multiple ways to charge
5 - Carry bag is good quality
6 - Conversion of sunlight to stored power seems good
7 - Panels are relatively impact resistant when folded
8 - Panels from other manufacturers can be used
9 - Generator is compact and (relatively) light
10 - Whole system is easy to store
Main negatives of the Jackery Explorer Solar system are as follows:
1 - Panels aren't waterproof (but may be showerproof?)
2 - Cost for the larger kits is quite high (but is competitive compared to what is available from alternative manufacturers and deals are sometimes available)
The positives far outweigh the negatives and you can't really put a price on being able to generate a respectable amount of electrical power during a power grid failure.
END NOTE: If (when) the "Russians / Chinese have hacked the internet" narrative gets rolled out by the media you will certainly be glad you bought an off grid solar system when other people have no power, haven't prepared and are in chaos.

Cordless Pressure Washer ........ is it any good?
(Time stamps below)
Handife Pressure Washer (Amazon): https://geni.us/Nsw5Z4
This is a surprisingly powerful pressure washer and to be honest I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is.
Is it as powerful as an expensive mains powered pressure washer (e.g. Karcher)? No.
However, it is extremely portable, very affordable and it does a great job on paving as you will see from the video.
It's roughly 1/3 the price of my main pressure washer which is a Karcher K4 and I find it perfect for cleaning areas where I don't want (or need) a super powerful spray. For example, while draining the hot tub I can clean it as it is draining and use the water from the tub. That saves me dragging the Karcher, hose and extension lead out and makes the job much quicker.
Likewise, I can lead the garden hose onto my shed roof, connect to this washer and use it to clean the adjoining greenhouse roof so it's way more versatile than a traditional (mains) pressure washer.
In this video:

07:22 Cleaning windows and sills

09:31 Cleaning algae on tarmac
09:57 Close-ups
11:28 Final thoughts / Summary
If you have a large area of paving, multiple cars or other 'big' jobs for a pressure washer I'd say go with a powerful mains powered pressure washer but for smaller jobs or areas which are more difficult to reach this cordless pressure washer is certainly worthy of consideration - I'm very pleased with mine.

This was a dark session but it pays to practice skills in less than perfect conditions....
I will do a specific video on the tiny telescopic rod and spinning reel as it is an excellent set which fits into a small bag.

Electric Pruning Shear Review - Kebtek YDN-007

Amazon Link: https://geni.us/Vy8wjC
Coupon Code for 10% Off: pondguru10
Should work with Amazon UK, US, EU and JP although I'm not sure how long the coupon will last - hopefully it will work for you after viewing this video.
At only 880g the shears certainly pack lot of power into a small package.
In the video I show them cutting a wide variety of branches at a range of diameters up to 1" (25mm) and I definitely recommend them.
