The Whiskey Cowboy

Pawtuckaway Lake is a 784-acre reservoir in Rockingham County in southeastern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Nottingham. The lake is located in the Piscataqua River drainage basin. The lake presently has two dams and three dikes. It used to be called Pawtuckaway Pond (and some still call it that), but once it was greatly expanded, it earned the title of Lake. This time out, my youngest daughter joined me. We used the Fundy Boat Launch (free), and we mostly kept to the unpopulated side of the lake. As the day passed and folks got out of work, they started to make it out onto the waters, and we were on our way home. It is a beautiful lake, but be mindful of the rocks. The shorelines are replete with them, most of which are just below the surface so you can't see them. I hope folks enjoy sharing the day out... cheers.

Some folks may note that the paddle noise is far less in this video than the first one. And paddle noise was enjoyed by most. Well, the shape of my new paddle reduces the noise. It makes for a quieter time on the water, and when I take care I can all but eliminate paddle noise all together. That was not my intent on this day out though. It's just a byproduct of such an efficient and sleek designed paddle. We have yet another day of rain in the northeast. This morning saw horrible downpours, tornado and flood warnings, but cooler temperatures. In between the downpours I decided to share with you our morning. Cheers, and God bless.

This canoe trip is from Hopkinton, NH to Henniker, NH and took me 5 hours (up and back, not one way); but would have been a better 8 hour trip. If in a kayak though 5 would be quite nice. I put in at the 50 River Road, Henniker boat launch (though that is on the border of the two locations). Cheers!

Here is a part of a drive I took on June 16th! It takes us from Laconia, NH on up to Lincoln, NH via some of the best driving in NH. The route is roughly 50 miles. I hope you all enjoy it! Cheers!
