We all know the world's greatest sponsor of terror the, the that's Iran. Iran is at the very heart of this. They're behind this. We've allowed them to enrich themselves in the Biden administration and, Larry, you and I know how the sanctions were working under the Trump Administration. We worked together to impose them. You remember how we got Japan to stop buying Iranian crude. We had Iran at a point where they were ready to bargain. But they waited till the outcome of the election, the Bidens came in and here's what's happened. They've looked the other way on the sanctions. We've allowed them to increase their capital accounts by roughly 50 billion dollars just in additional oil sales since they've come in. You recall earlier this year the Biden administration signed off on Iraq, making attend billion dollar payment to Iran. Then most recently the 6 billion dollar ransom payment. What we've done is put Iran into position to do precisely what they have done. And the incentive here, I think, is very obvious as well. What we've seen is that Israel and Saudi Arabia we're coming back to the table that President Trump set in terms of the Abraham Accords that we were at the precipice of getting done at the end of the last administration. You worked on that too, Larry. As the Iranians saw the Saudis and the Israelis coming back to the table the last thing they want to see is prosperity, and the freedom that goes along with it, break out in the Middle East. I think that's the inspiration for this, to disrupt that entire process using their proxies, Hamas, to do it. And the fact that Joe Biden won't even mentioned it, speak to the cause of this, I think is absolutely shocking. Rep. Matt Gaetz: Well, you just heard the Secretary of State reject that premise. We have a 10 year ongoing memorandum of understanding that sends Israel almost 4 billion , , , Yeah, but what he said was there was no need in Israel that were not going to be able to meet based on the funding that we've already approved for Israel. And the reason we have this multi-billion dollar commitment each and every year to Israel is because we want Israel to have a qualitative military edge over everyone in the region. They have that edge. Israel has air superiority now. We are, we are seeing their armored vehicles in the north. I'm very concerned about what Hezbollah might do, what Lebanon might do there to try to create more and more instability, but there is no ask from Israel that we are unable to meet because it's going to take us a few days to pick a new speaker. I was very critical of the Protem's decision to send us home for a week. I thought upon McCarthy's ouster we should have stayed on the job, stayed in Washington, and if McHenry had not made that decision, we would have a speaker right now. He made one that was regrettable but I think we're going to be back on track quite soon. Well, Hamas and Hezbollah and other terrorist groups in the Middle East are proxies of Iran and an operation of the complexity of scale yesterday could not have happened, in almost all likelihood, without Iranian approval and probably Iranian involvement in planning. But as we look forward about what President Biden should do relative to Israel, we should also think about what he's done relative to Iran, what he needs to do now. For three years the President has appeased Iran, the world's worst state sponsor of terrorism. It's not just the 6 billion dollars that was released from sanctions controls last month, it's 10 billion dollars that was released from Iraq into Iran. It's looking the other way on more than 80 attacks against American troops in the Middle Eastern or allowing Iran to threaten shipping in the Persian Gulf. Allowing Iran, without serious consequence, to arm Russia to kill more Ukrainians. Releasing hundreds of millions of dollars to the Palestinian Authorities since the very beginning of this administration. These are all acts of appeasement, concessions, and weakness that embolden the leaders in Tehran, as well as Hamas, to believe that they could launch this brazen, savage attack against Israel. They've been killing Americans. They've been killing Israelis. They've been killing you Ukrainians via Russia. They've been killing their own people through repression and crackdown over the last three years. Why would these terrorist leaders think that there's going to be any different this time around. So in addition to supporting Israel, it's time for President Biden to stop appeasing Iran, stop all payments to Iran, enforce all sanctions to the max, stop all payments to the Palestinians, and make it clear that we will no longer grant these kind of one-sided concessions. This video is shot during the President Donald Trump's speech. It shows a gathering of people on a side street of the Capitol in Washington DC. Trump’s speech is audible in the background, which means these individuals did not attend the rally. Rep. Matt Gaetz: I don't quite understand why so many people characterize our movement as, and by the way people including the New York Times reporter you have sitting in the corner of the war room right now, when they write about me they say things like, they say things like hardliner. the hardliner, the far right and I'm thinking, look at who you, look at, let's talk about this for moment. What's hard right about saying we should follow the law. But the law requires the single subject spending bills and a budget to be passed. What's hard right about saying, when you say 72 hours to read the bill, you don't get to waive that to pass the continuing resolution. What's hard right about saying, something that spends more than a hundred million dollars should not go on the suspension agenda where it is not subject to amendment. The things I'm fighting for are good government and Rep. Nancy Mace: Reasonable things. I'm a Centrist. I would say small isle libertarian, fiscally conservative, socially sensible. Matt and I agree on about 98% of the things, but it's not unreasonable to ask Congress, just follow the law. Law from 1974, the Budget Impact and Control Act, says a budget and 12 spending bills. Now, he and I are not going to agree with leadership, or decided the amount they're going to spend. They're going to spend way more than we would ever want. But you still have a process where the bills are vetted, they're amended, the people have to say through the representative, and then they're voted on the floor. Not, not the CRs and the Omnibus’ at the last minute. Rep. Matt Gaetz: We would vote different ways on some of these things amendments, and there's an interesting ability with with more voting, and actual legislating, for coalitions to form and for us to work together. And it'll be okay if we take a lot of votes, if we're together on some things to debate against one another on others, that's real governing, and it never happens here because they delay everything, back you up against shut down politics, and then just get you to vote for a continuing resolution where the lobbyists are in charge of what's in it. During the debate on whether or not to oust Speaker McCarthy from the Speakership, Rep. Matt Gaetz tells it like it really is in the House of Representatives. Matt Gaetz: My colleague says we passed the strongest border bills in history. Well, guess what, look at the border right now. We didn't use sufficient leverage in the debt limit, or in any other thing, to actually get results on the border. The border is a disaster, really something I don't think you're going to be campaigning on that you fixed the border. Second, you streamlined regulations. What the gentleman from Louisiana doesn't tell you is that all the regulatory reform he was just bragging about is waivable by the stroke of a pen of someone in the Biden White House. Do you really think you've got anything for that? It's a total joke. And then finally the Welfare to Work that the gentleman from Louisiana said we got. The Welfare to Work programs that they said that they streamlined with their Welfare To Work stuff, they're actually going to grow, because while they did work requirements they blew out those programs with expanded eligibility. I'm real glad you guys didn't put work requirements on Medicaid, it probably would have resulted in Medicaid expansion. And when it comes to how those raise money, I take no lecture on asking patriotic Americans to weigh in and contribute to this fight, from those who would grovel and bend knee for the lobbyists, and special interests, who own our leadership, who have, oh boo all you want, who have hollowed out this town, and have borrowed against the future of our future generations. I'll be happy to fund my political operation through the work of hard working Americans 10 and 20 and 30 dollars at a time and you all keep showing up at the lobbyist fundraisers and see how that goes for you. Mr. Speaker, my friend from Oklahoma says that my colleagues and I who don't support Kevin McCarthy would plunge the house and the country into chaos. Chaos is Speaker McCarthy. Chaos is somebody who we cannot trust with their word. The one thing that the White House, House Democrats and many of us on the conservative side of the Republican caucus would argue is that the thing we have in common, Kevin McCarthy said something to all of us at one point or another that he didn't really mean, and never intended to live up to. I don't think voting against Kevin McCarthy is chaos. I think 33 trillion in debt is chaos. I think that facing a 2.2 trillion dollar annual deficit is chaos. I think that not passing single subject spending bills is chaos. I think the fact that we have been governed in this country since the mid-90s by continuing resolution and Omnibus is chaos. And the way to liberate ourselves from that is a series of reforms to this body that I would hope would outlast speaker Speaker McCarthy's time here, outlast my time here, and would outlast either of our majorities. Reforms that I have heard some of the most conservative members of this body fight for, and some of the reforms that we've been battling for, that I've even heard those in the Democratic caucus say would be worthy and helpful to the house, like open amendments, like understanding what the budget is. We have been out of compliance with budget laws for most of my life, most of many of your lives. And, by the way, if we did those things, if we had single subject bills, if we had an understanding on the top line, if we had open amendments, if we had trust and honesty and understanding, there would be times when my conservative colleagues and I would lose, might be a few times when we'd win, there'd be times that we would form partnerships that might otherwise not be really predictable in the American body politic, but the American people would see us legislating. These last few days we've suspended the momentum that we had established the week earlier, where we were bringing bills to the floor, voting on them, staying late at night, working hard. That's what the American people expect. It's something speaker McCarthy hasn't delivered, and that's why I've moved to vacate the chair. I reserve. Reporter: If you were to move forward. If there were to be any kind of agreement, what would that look like and what would you need to see from the Speaker at this moment? Rep. Matt Gaetz: I think the die is cast based on the motion I just filed. I think the time for that discussion would have been over the last several weeks, but instead we, we saw the speaker continuing, I mean, the speaker did not just fail to remediate the breach of the agreement he made with us in January, he accelerated the instances of preach. Like after I laid out the breach, he went violated the 72 hours rule. After I laid out the breach, he violated the hundred million no Amendment suspension rule. So he seems to be reverting to the very unfortunate muscle memory of Washington DC that has put our nation on top of 33 trillion dollar debt, that has led to two trillion dollar annual deficits in our near future, and the rapid global dedollarisation of the economy. You look at the BRICS system, you know, Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, they're moving away from the dollar, and just in August they added six new countries, including G20 economies in the Western Hemisphere and Gulf monarchies. Moreover you've seen , you saw U.S. news say that the number one economic trend of 2023 is the dedollarization globally. This worries me. You all get all worked up that there's going to be some uncomfortable, chaotic moment that I'll feel pressure from conservatives or democrats or whomever. I feel the Judgment of History. I feel the weight of that. I'm worried that when the history books are written about this country going down, that my name is going to be on the board of directors here. And if this country is going down, and if we're losing the dollar, I am going down fighting. And I don't care if that means fighting Republicans, Democrats, the uniparty, the leadership, the PACs, the lobbyists. I've had it. I've been here seven years. We don't have a budget. We haven't had one since the mid-90s. I am through with it. I apologize for using that word, but the only path forward here is to have single subject spending bills that can be reviewed, amended, considered, and I think that is the responsible way that our legislatures all over this country operate for good reasons. ~ Rep.
