In this introductory video I begin to analyze the basic premise of the book "Sensual Faith" written by body and sex-positive preacher Lyvonne Briggs. In Sensual Faith, Lyvonne Briggs charts a path for black women to practice spiritual wellness that aligns and harmonizes their bodies with pleasure and sexuality. By centering the rich traditions of ancient West African spirituality, Sensual Faith offers a radically inclusive model of companioning one’s self. In this video, I begin to examine the overarching themes of the book, beginning with Briggs' controversial spin on the story of Ruth and Boaz. In this video I provide critique and commentary on Lyvonne Briggs new book, "Sensual Faith." This book, per the author and self proclaimed preacher is primarily aimed at Black women, 18 to 45, currently or formerly “churched,” who always had this hunch that there’s got to be more to it than this — religion, faith, God, spirituality. She discusses themes such as her disagreement with messaging such as “If you have sex before marriage, you’re going to hell.” She argues: Why I gotta go to hell if I’m having consensual sex? She believes also pushes against what se describes as harmful ideologies that attack our queer kin." We will discuss various aspects of the book and I will exhort believers as to why this book should be avoided and how nothing in this book is Christian, but rather the musings of a pagan who was deceived by false Christianity and is now a syncretist.

Earlier this week, over 47,000 Southern Baptist Pastors received an email correspondence from former Saddleback Pastor Rick Warren. Warren, who retired from Saddleback last year has been actively pushing to have Saddleback Church readmitted to the Southern Baptist Convention. Saddleback was disfellowshipped from the SBC last year due to them installing several woman into the office of pastor. Warren wants SBC to reconsider their decision and encouraged SBC churches to focus on Gospel unity and to essentially look the other way on the female pastor issue because "numbers are dwindling and this is dividing us." (emphasis mine.) What will the SBC do? Is female pastoral leadership the future of the SBC. Is this matter something the church should divide over? Is it really that serious? Let's talk about it.

The NAACP and the Democratic Party do not support school choice because of their relationship with the teacher's union.
