We were getting all the Farm Chores done today!

We broke the tractor.... Can we fix it?

We moved some piglets around!

Just before summer, we placed 3 of our piglets in the area where we plant our garden. We used the piglets to clean out all of the growth of the spent plants in the garden and we can say now that they accomplished the mission. We moved them to a new paddock that we built last week. 96ft by 16ft. That is 1500+ Square Feet of pig habitat. This will also serve to help us come time for them to go to freezer camp.

Why would you put a Pig Hut in a garden?

If you do what I did it could cost you thousands!

We needed to move this big gilt to another paddock cause she was being a huge hog with the feed..

We now have piglets but it was not without challenges.

All the Baby Chicks got evicted from the digs in the shop and placed in the outdoor nursery all in preparation for new tenants coming next week!

This weekend we work on cutting some firewood for heating our home during the cold winter nights, finishing up the chicken coop, and giving you a livestock update. Next on the to-do list is to build the Chicken Run for the new coop.

Moving Chickens into the new coop and we are welcoming new live to the Homestead, along with getting ready for growing season!

Miss Piggy escaped her pen and we had to think fast!

This week we are talking about our garden, the sunflowers we have in it, the fly problem, and our pigs.
