In this episode, we first stop at Pattaya before reaching Bangkok. Pattaya is known for ladyboys and the informal aspects of human relations. Before exploring the nightlife, we spend a day at the Ramayana water park 🌊. The water attractions were awesome! In the evening, we visited the party street of Pattaya and were disappointed by what we saw or didn't see 🌃. A day later, we took the train to Bangkok 🚆. This is the first city we visited on this long journey, closing the loop through other Southeast Asian countries. In Bangkok, we only did attractions we couldn't do the first time. We visited a beautiful dragon temple outside the city 🐉 and then went to a Muay Thai boxing event in the most popular Thai boxing stadium 🥊. 🌍 In this episode, we explore the charming city of Battambang in Cambodia. This city is known for a few historical monuments of the Khmer Rouge times on a hilltop. 🏞️ Close to that neighborhood, there is a special cave that contains millions of bats. 🦇 Those bats fly out every day again and again to start looking for food. More than an hour later, the bat stream was ongoing, and we couldn't keep waiting for the last man standing, as it started to get dark. 🌌 A very impressive natural phenomenon which was beautiful to witness! 🌟 In the same episode, we take the car to the border with Thailand. 📍 In this episode, we are in Cambodia, in the most known city of the country, which is Siem Reap. This city holds a gem which is Angkor Wat. Those ancient temples with a lot of history are spread over an enormously large area, which creates the Angkor park. We have traveled with a rented tuk-tuk driver from temple to temple and visited all the most interesting ones. We have seen the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets emerging from in between temple towers and submerging far away in the lake. A beautiful place and a must-visit for everyone coming to Cambodia. This rich with culture and proud country, Khmer people speak good English, are always very friendly, and shine positivity all around. In addition to two days of temples watching, we have also watched Apsara dance performances. A beautiful dancing show with traditional dances for different occasions, was accompanied by a buffet dinner, which had very delicious local food and fruit. To finish this off, we have also visited Apopo. This company is training large African rats to detect explosives which are deeper under the ground. Their small size and lightweight are perfect for this job. We have received a nice informative tour, could see them in action, and were able to hold them for a short while. In this final episode of our Vietnam series, we start by visiting a local coffee farm to learn how coffee is made and even roast some ourselves! 🚜☕️ Next, we continue south, stopping at a towering 100m high Lady Buddha statue that you can walk inside. 🚴‍♀️🛤 In the Cat Tien National Park, we rent bicycles to explore the lush South Vietnamese nature. A local tribe woman shares her story of survival in the wilderness. 🌿🚲 We then pass through the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, heading towards the serene Phu Quoc Island. This island is the highlight of our journey, with its quirky palm trees and a modern Italian-inspired region. 🌴🏖 We spend most of our time here, enjoying the calm and picturesque surroundings. It’s a ghost town by day, but as the sun sets, the area comes alive. Phu Quoc is known as the "city of sunset," and we can confirm its beauty! 🌅 On the opposite side of the island lies Khem Beach, which is ranked among the top 50 most beautiful beaches in the world. In this episode, we're doing a lot of crazy stuff in Central Vietnam! 🏍️ First, we drove across a bridge in very bad shape to reach the Da Dia reef lava rock formation! 🌋 These basalt rocks are formed by cooling lava cracking in the sea. After learning about this fascinating phenomenon, we drove to Mui Dien, the first point where the sun rises in Vietnam. 🌅 It's a lighthouse that wakes up earlier than any other place in the country. Next, we visited Nha Trang, a beautiful beach town with several attractions. 🏖️ We explored the Po Nagar Cham towers, rocky cliffs, the oceanography museum, and the Long Son pagoda. As we continued south, we arrived in Da Lat city. 🌆 Here, we did many funky things, starting with the Crazy House, where you can walk over the roof and through the house in all different directions. Then, we took an alpine coaster down the hill to see a waterfall. 🚂💦 We also visited a 3D world house with many illusional photography spots. In Da Lat, we discovered an abandoned house, but we're still unsure if it's truly abandoned. In this episode, we're still in Central Vietnam. 🌴 We took a short break from riding Appa and joined a coconut boat tour with a hilarious old lady who sang and did crazy antics the whole time! 🎶😂 This fun-filled day was definitely the highlight of our trip. Afterward, we continued our journey to the hidden gem of Tam Ky village, known for its beautifully painted murals. 🎨🏘️ Many houses are decorated with various themes. Leaving Tam Ky, we headed inland and passed by the Mother of Vietnam. It was a challenging ride, with close calls and tough terrain, but we managed to reach the top safely. Our motorcycle, Appa, proved its strength on the rough paths with loose stones. Once the roads improved, we headed towards the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall, the fourth largest waterfall in the world, marking the border between Vietnam and China. We even took a boat tour to touch the Chinese border! From there, we journeyed to Ha Long, only to find it surprisingly empty and more of a ghost town despite its reputation as a tourist hotspot.
