Super Mario RPG - #17 - Getting that stinky fire turtle up to level 30 plus the Culex fight!
We grind up Bowser to level 30 to not even use him in the Culex fight.
If I didn't have notes, this would have been a complete disaster. So far, this was the longest fight I had while streaming. A "superboss" in every sense of the word. Over twenty minutes. Kingdom Hearts is different because there was either 1) enough down time in between boss forms or 2) we were so overleveled that it really didn't matter, boss were going to get destroyed anyways.
I know we have a few more bosses left, but we are eyeing up Smithy now to finish Super Mario RPG.

Super Mario RPG - #14 - Finishing the rest of Bowser's Keep and... Surprise! Here's two boss fights!
This was something I did not want to do as I was doing it. And it's very obvious in this episode... since... I said that multiple times. So we cleared the six red doors in Bowser's Keep. But we also wind up doing not just the Boomer fight, but the Exor fight as well.
I slept well after streaming that night!

Super Mario RPG - #13 - Sacking the Axem Rangers and tearing through Bowser's Keep
Got all nice and settled in to stream for the evening. We beat the Axem Rangers and did what we could until the end of the hour. That's when things went all down hill from there.

Super Mario RPG - #12 - Destroying Valentina and Czar Dragon for the price of one!
But wait! That's not all! You'll also get me confusing Culex for Jinx for a few minutes towards the end of the stream! It's astounding! I just kept rambling to someone about it! "Oh yeah, Culex, the little hand looking thing with the dojo! The three phase fight!" Nope! I wasn't even close.

Super Mario RPG - #6 - Brides, Beetles, Booster, Battlestar Galatica (Part 2)
We jump right from Booster's Tower on our way to Marrymore to stop Booster in his dastardly plan to marry his "bride from the sky" Princess Toadstool in a totally legal and binding ceremony. We also check out some of the mini games Super Mario RPG has to offer.

Super Mario RPG - #5 - Brides, Beetles, Booster, Battlestar Galatica (Part 1)
They are definitely beets here to the story (pun intended).
I understand that there are a lot of material and characters from past Mario games we would like to see again. After playing this, Booster is definitely one of the top ones for me. Geno and Mallow are top picks, but Booster was so weird! Let's take a look why!

Super Mario RPG - #4 - Making a mountain out of a Moleville
Here, we take trips to the Pipe Vault and the Goomba Thumping game, Yo'ster's Island, and run through Moleville like we are on a runaway minecart. Well, we were also on a runaway minecart for real, but still! We are just blazing through this.
The pacing of this game is just blowing my mind. We are about 5 hours in and we are nearly through half of the game!

Super Mario RPG - #3 - We're coming for you, nya!
From the end of the Midas River to the end of the Rose Town. All in about 80 minutes. Goodness. When I was a kid, I could have sworn this would have taken me days to beat. Especially the Bowyer fight. I knew what needed to be done, but the RNG gods were not in favor of me then. But now with a little more experience under my belt, the whole thing was a breeze.

Two Good Hours - #24 - Batman (NES)
This was one of those games that I didn't know how to feel about it when I was a little Don. At first, I didn't like it because it was too hard. Then I did like the general theming and feel of the game (ESPECIALLY the music) but couldn't get past Stage 3-1. But I'm older, craftier, more experienced, and more importantly, more patient.
Here, I set the tone for what would eventually be one of the most cathardic experiences in my life, let alone in gaming.
Also, we made mention of a viewer's own rom hack that's a more challenging version of Batman.
Check it out here!

Two Good Hours - #23 - California Games (NES)
Not only was this a fun one to do. But my brother, the one person I played video games the most with in my life, joins us for a little bit on this stream. Thanks, Chris!
This was a go-to game for us, for sure. But some of you may be unfamiliar with California Games. You may have heard of Winter Games, but this is way better than that.
Here, we spend two hours Skateboarding on a half pipe, playing footbag, surfing, skating, riding BMX bikes, and throwing a flying disk in the raddest state in the union... back in 1987. Now? Not so much.
Don't worry, California. You'll return to greatness one day! Some day. Eh who the hell am I kidding?
Join us as I play what is essentially a mini-game collection and compete for first place!
(spoiler alert below)
It's just me playing. I was going to get first place anyways.

Two Good Hours - #22 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
In 2022, Konami shocked the heck out of us all and released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection for multiple consoles and PC. As I quote from the press release, "13 iconic TMNT games, one shell of a time". There were beat 'em ups, fighters, arcade games, game boy games. But here, we take a look at the action-adventure title for the Nintendo Entertainment System simply titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
When they announced the Cowabunga Collection, I think a lot of people wanted a second crack at this game in particular. I'm glad to have another chance at this game and I'm glad to be sharing this for Two Good Hours.
I heard someone recently say that you could be familiar with a game for years, but if you get to a part in the game you've never been to before, it feels like a brand new game. I most definitely had that feeling in this hour.
Fun fact, in Europe, the game and franchise was called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. But in Japan, the game was called Geki Kame Ninja Den which is roughly translated to english as "Legend of the Radical Ninja Turtles". I think I prefer the Japanese name way more.

Two Good Hours - #21 - Super Mario Bros. 2
We received this for Christmas one year. My one aunt really didn't like Super Mario Bros. 2 as it was a radical departure from the first Super Mario Bros. I didn't mind it. I had a lot of fun over the years with game but now let's see how it holds up in 2022.

Two Good Hours - #20 - Chocobo GP
Just can't seem to steer clear of controversial games this season. Chocobo GP released on March 10, 2022 to a worldwide release. To be honest, I always wanted to play this since it was announced. This was my first import game from Japan. Even after the negative reviews surrounding this game, I wanted to put not only my two cents in, but also Two Good Hours, and give it either a pass or fail rating.

Two Good Hours - #19 - Grand Theft Auto Trilogy - Definitive Edition - San Andreas
Ahh man. Here we go again.
For the last time though, because we are finishing the controversial Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition released in 2021. I didn't really have any issues with the first two. They are about the same as I remembered it. Fun but flawed.
But it's a new game to me, so we'll see how the whole thing holds up for a pass/fail rating.

Two Good Hours - #18 - Adventures in the Magic Kingdom
To all who come to this happy place, welcome.
"Hey! What happened? I thought he was going to do San Andreas this week!"
Yeah, I was supposed to. But my vacation plans changed. I am Walt Disney World this week (because I hate money) and today in particular I will be in Animal Kingdom, so come say hi if you see me! And I figured what better way to spend some vacation time than playing a video simulating theme park attractions!
Adventures in the Magic Kingdom was released in early June in 1990 and the rest of the world in 1992. It did not see a Japanese release but they did get some Disneyland Tokyo-themed games later.
It should also be noted that famed composer Yoko Shimomura did some composing for this game. Some of her notable works include games in series like Street Fighter, some Mario RPG games (Like Super Mario RPG and Mario & Luigi), and Kingdom Hearts! Plus it was also developed by Capcom! I still love the Disney Afternoon games like DuckTales and Chip and Dale! This one has a lot to live up to.
But anything can happen with a pass or fail rating at the end of two good hours.

Two Good Hours - #17 - WWE 2K18
I thought we were close there with "The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa" but that barely squeaked out a "PASS" right at the end when the story was getting ready to pick up. But I think I can confidently say when I first got the idea of Two Good Hours and the pass/fail ratings, I knew where this would land.
WWE's first game since on a Nintendo platform since WWE '13 for the Wii, had a lot to live up to. Does it do that? Let's find out.
Stop snickering. I'm going to ask you to hold your comments for those not in the know. Let them experience this organically. The way we all did back in December 2017.
I explain my backstory with this game. Truly, it was THE WORST gaming experiences I've ever had. Top to bottom. It had everything wrong with modern gaming ancapcillated in this one title alone.
You know dang well what rating I am giving this. But join me for the ride. The multi-man matches are truly a sight to behold.

Two Good Hours - #16 - Donkey Kong Country (Entire playthrough)
At the time of this streaming, I was celebrating my newly released book, TAKE YOUR SHOT, and its bestselling status on Amazon. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to play one of my favorite games from my childhood, Donkey Kong Country.
Developed by Rare in 1994, it is widely considered to be one of the best platformers on the SNES, even though it is surpassed by its predecessors.
I want to say it was the summer of 1996 or 1997 when we first got this game. It took me the whole summer just to beat it. I was about 11 at the time. I distinctly remember going to a sleepover and we all were terrible at the first minecart level. We tore through dozens of lives and ultimately failed, but it was still a good time.
If only young Don could see me now! We were going to take a break at Gorilla Glacier but we just kept right on going, playing this in one sitting.
I kept saying I've "never played a game in one sitting before on stream", but that is not actually the case in retrospect. There's a deep cut of my very first time streaming on Twitch that I have yet to post. Maybe when my streaming anniversary rolls around in October, I'll post it, but we'll see.
But for now, let's enjoy Donkey Kong Country in its entirety

Two Good Hours - #15 - Assassin's Creed III
Special thanks to Mike Eckert and Eckert Financial Services for sponsoring Season 3 of Two Good Hours. Mike's services ranges from tax preparation, investing, long term/life insurance.
For a more secure financial future, send him an e-mail at eckertm@hdvest.net. Not sure what to ask? Ask him simply what he can do for you.
Colonial America. What an interesting time. How did a rag tag group of farmers beat the world's greatest Army and Navy and kick off contribute to the American Experiment?
Unfortunately we won't find that answer here. Assassin's Creed III is really a convoluted sci-fi game about a "first civilation" of humanity and artifacts with immense power, and I just don't have time for that.
So we just take a look at the meat and potatoes of this game. Stealth, running and jumping across buildings, combat. Lots and lots of combat from all the stealth I failed to complete.
