I prefer to use syringes for all of my dosing, including corrections, because its more precise at low doses. Problem is, I'm weary of sticking old syringes back in my vial of insulin, due to the risk of polymerization. Fortunately, I created a tool to allow me to reuse syringes for small corrections safely, WITHOUT sticking it back in the vial! This is a cool little tool I made with my laser cutter and some paper plates. Just the first prototype! As a bonus, I'm able to consistently dose down to 1/4 unit with this little trinket. Have you noticed that sometimes, after you eat, your blood sugars are way more wild than they should be? I've been to meetings ran by ADA-approved diabetes "educators", where they talk on and on about FIBER. I often see post from other type 1 diabetics, showing off a nice blood sugar and calling it a "unicorn". It's great to celebrate numbers like that, but WHY should such a number be so RARE? Susan, who mastered type 1 diabetes when I was still in diapers, decided to check out a local dietary conference to see what experts are telling diabetics these days.
