Needed a table at the sawmill for lunch breaks. So the Grumpy Machinist called and offered a free cookie if we cut a large red oak up for him (really?). Wax was applied to the cookie and it was 2 months old at the time of this production. This video is every step except one to cut up 2 7/8" OD oilfield pipe for the legs, cut pocket holes into the bottom of the cookie, attach and weld together, wrap a chain around the every changing green cookie and apply tung oil. Made a tractor compatible lifting eye because it weighs 200 lbs (91 kg). The missing corrupted video step is the additional 2 9/16" hole saw cut that widened the pocket hole kerf. We purchased a USA Attachment weld on thumb for our old Kubota L35 BT900 Backhoe. This video shows how we positioned it, and made it fit the dipper exactly. A Yellow Pine near our sawmill was attacked by beetles and it was dying. So we cut her down, ground the stump to grade and milled into boards. But we hit metal. We had a very difficult black walnut log to put on our old sawmill. The log was full of knots and crotches along with some rot. Haybarn Homestead We pulled our red potatoes, red beets, and orange carrots! 135 lbs of potatoes. The antique 1953 chevrolet 4100 ton and half ran good.

Our air conditioner outdoor fan quit after a power failure. When power came back on, the fan motor hummed and would only rotate by spinning the fan blade. Took 10 days to get a replacement motor. Camera girl has a wall for her cast iron skillets. We hung them with horseshoe nails. But the dutch oven is too bulky to hang safely. A old 22" diameter water hickory that weighs over 1000 lbs is used to load the mill and the 1964 Case 530 tractor. We made some nice hickory boards and firewood. Discovered a red oak probably 100 years old. Underbrush was all around it. So to expose it, we use a tractor saw that runs off the PTO to cut the trees off at ground level. We cooked up some freshly dug red potatoes, put a twist in them, and fried them in peanut oil.

We picked up walnuts off the ground last fall. So in February, we used a subsoiler behind a tractor to open a furrow to plant about 100 black walnut seeds. Simple method, open a ditch, pitch them in, and step on them. Used Kubota tractor , King Cutter subsoiler modified for ballast, and rubber boots.
