Watch a spacecraft deliver an asteroid sample to Earth! Our OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, and Security–Regolith Explorer) spacecraft is approaching Earth, and on Sept. 24, 2023, it will release its sample return capsule into the atmosphere on a path to land at the Department of Defense’s Utah Test and Training Range.

NASA Astronaut Loral O'Hara's First Launch to the Space Station (Official NASA Broadcast)
Astronaut Loral O'Hara, a member of NASA's 2017 astronaut candidate class, is set to launch on her first mission to space Friday, Sept. 15. O'Hara and Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub will lift off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan aboard the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft.
The Soyuz is scheduled to launch at 11:44 a.m. EDT (1544 UTC) Friday, Sept. 15. NASA TV coverage will begin at 10:45 a.m. After a two-orbit, three-hour journey, the Soyuz will dock to the International Space Station's Rassvet module at 2:56 p.m. (1856 UTC). O'Hara is scheduled to spend six months aboard the station while Kononenko and Chub are scheduled to spend a year on the orbital outpost.

Live: Starlink's Mission Falcon 9 launch
On Thursday, August 31 at 10:21 p.m. ET, Falcon 9 launched 22 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
This was the seventh flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Crew-5, GPS III Space Vehicle 06, Inmarsat I6-F2, CRS-28, Intelsat G-37, and now two Starlink missions.

NASA’s SpaceX Dragon Endurance spacecraft carrying NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Andreas Mogensen, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Konstantin Borisov autonomously docked to the space-facing port of the Harmony module of the International Space Station at 9:16 a.m. EDT on Aug. 27 following a launch the day before on the SpaceX Dragon Endurance spacecraft aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Following docking, the quartet opened the hatch and floated onboard the orbital outpost before providing welcoming remarks as their mission aboard the space station began. The four crew members will conduct a long-duration science mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions. Such research benefits people on Earth and lays the groundwork for future human exploration through the agency’s Artemis missions, which will send astronauts to the Moon to prepare for future expeditions to Mars.

Crew-7 | Approach and Docking | Space X
On Saturday, August 26 at 3:27 a.m. ET (07:27 UTC), Falcon 9 launched Dragon’s seventh operational human spaceflight mission (Crew-7) to the International Space Station from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Dragon will autonomously dock with the space station on Sunday, August 27, approximately 29 hours after liftoff.
During their time on the orbiting laboratory, the crew will conduct science and technology demonstrations to prepare for human exploration beyond low-Earth orbit and to benefit humanity on Earth, in addition to space station maintenance activities.
The webcast will resume approximately two hours prior to docking.

Starlink Mission
SpaceX is targeting Saturday, August 26 at 9:05 p.m. ET (01:05 UTC on August 27) for a Falcon 9 launch of 22 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in Florida. If needed, there are currently three additional launch opportunities starting at 9:56 p.m. ET (01:56 UTC) until 11:04 p.m. ET (03:04 UTC). Four backup opportunities are also currently available on Sunday, August 27 from 8:40 p.m. ET (00:40 UTC on August 28) until 10:39 p.m. ET (02:39 UTC).
This is the third flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched the ESA Euclid mission and Ax-2. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
A live webcast of this mission will begin about five minutes prior to liftoff.
