12 Is Shanghai shooting a valid style of shooting? Any thoughts or tips?
Some people use the Shanghai style where you hold the ammo, not the pouch.
This may seem like a radical change but some have mastered this style and shoot with incredible skill and accuracy with this method.
Is it right for you? If you are just starting, it may not be, but be informed, make a good choice and have fun with whatever style you choose.

11 Does the "memory" of curled latex cause any problems?
We've all seen it. You get to the inside of a roll of latex and it's all curled up.
Is this a problem? Does the latex develop a memory that will harm shooting? Are there any negative side effects of this?
Well, we think that as soon as you shoot, you'll know the answer. Thankfully, latex has a terrible memory. :)

10 Is it OK to use a bandset where the latex is wider than my slingshot forktip?
What happens when my bandset latex is wider than my forktip?
You may be seeing a common theme here, but we'll keep saying it. :)
What's best for you is the best choice for you.
In this case, the technical answer is sure: there's NO problem using a bandset that is wider than your forktip. You may lose a HAIR of oomph from the loss of elongation in the width of the bands that is not secured, but even then . . . just fold the band and you're all set.
In the end, if it bothers you, it will affect you, so don't do it if it's harming your mindset. But you will do just fine with wider latex than your forktip.
Pro tip: you may not need that wide latex at all! 😮

9 Does cold or heat affect my slingshot bands?
Do I need to be concerned about heat or cold when shooting my slingshot?
Here's the quick answer to an age old question. And you may well know the answer by now: heat AND cold affect your bandset's ability to retract and send the shot down range. Heat can have a positive effect, but cold will slow your bands down.
Thankfully, we live in a day where latex is made to resist cold and it performs better than ever even in cold temperatures!

8 What is the difference between a hunting slingshot and a target slingshot?
What is the difference between a hunting slingshot and a target slingshot?
We all hear all about hunting slingshots and "the best hunting slingshots" but what exactly IS a hunting slingshot? Is there a difference from a target slingshot?
Great question with a simple answer to set straight. We get this question a LOT, so we're glad to answer it here!

7 Does my draw length vary with differing slingshot band weights / tapers?
When I shoot different band sets, does my draw length change?
Here's a question that a lot of people have. We have posted many videos, (as has the whole slingshot community) about draw length and band elongation, and everything along the lines of this topic.
But the specific question here is whether or not one's draw length changes depending on the variables of the particular band set being used. This is a great question, so watch the video for our answer.

6 Help us new shooters with "band twitch" when shooting a slingshot!
Is there target panic for slingshot shooters?
There sure is. Also known as target panic or the yips, this affects sportsmen of all kinds, including pro athletes in marksmanship skills and other aiming sports. In fact, even golfers have been known to struggle with the yips.
If you're struggling with band twitch, we think you are talking about a little jump right at the release. And as we all know, the release is extremely important to an accurate shot. So if you are struggling with a clean, release and feeling like you are twitching when you release, check out this video for a few quick tips on how to overcome it.

5 When shooting, should the slingshot be 90 degrees toward the target or tilt toward the target?
Here's a good question that people have often from watching others shoot.
Some people vary their frame hand hold substantially with great success, others need to make changes to find success. The question is: how important is a perfect perpendicular angle when holding the slingshot frame? Is the 90º to the target a non-negotiable or is there room for tilting the forks a bit during the shot?

4 Wide frames: Is it better to adjust aiming point or anchor point?
Should I change my reference point or anchor point when shooting wide frames?
When changing back-and-forth between frames with varying fork, gaps, most sugars need to make adjustments. The question here is whether one should adjust the anchor point or the aiming point. And like most of our answers, there's a lot of personal preference involved.

Axiom Champ Slingshot Owners Manual - Set up your new slingshot!
The Axiom Champ is the smallest slingshot frame from SimpleShot. And one of the ways that it remains so tiny is by its band attachment (good old tie-ins). FlipClips remain a simple way to attach bands and they are loved world-wide. The Ocularis system is ingenious and super-simple to attach bands in any orientation. But for the slimmest profile, and staying true to the history of this minimalist slingshot frame, the Axiom Champ just gets its bands tied on.
Setup of the Axiom Champ slingshot is a breeze. If you've never tied bands onto a slingshot frame before, don't worry. It takes a little practice and you'll have it down in no time.
First, make sure you put your lanyard on the frame for safety (and as we always remind you, wear safety glasses at all times). Just slip the lanyard through the hole in the handle, and tie off the ends to fit you with a simple overhand knot.
Then, it's time to attach the bands.
Make sure that you tune your bands before attaching them for peak performance as you desire.
Learn more at https://rumble.com/vz1i52-pro-tip-slingshot-performance-band-tuning-is-essential-to-successful-slings.html
We supply you with about a yard / meter of tie in tape to attach your bandset to your slingshot frame. Just cut off a piece that suits (we use around 10 inches to be safe) and use it to tie on your bandset. For this frame, we recommend a wrap or two as a base layer then placing your bandset on top of that base wrap before you start securing the bands.
This may actually be the most difficult part of the whole process so don't get discouraged! Once this base wrap is down, you just have to keep it under pressure: keep stretching and don't let go or it will pop loose and you'll have to start over.
Then make sure you give at least three good wraps, stretching the material tight the entire time as you wrap. And then fold up the end of the band and give a few more wraps.
Here's what it all comes down to. You need to place your thumb or a device of your choosing on top of the bands as you make your final two wraps. Then you capture the tag end of the tie-in tape and pull it under these final wraps to tie it off. You can use your thumb or you could use hemostats, tweezers, or even the end of your lanyard.
We demonstrate in this video using your thumb or the lanyard.
This is a process that takes practice to master, so don't be disappointed if it takes a few tries to get it right. Once you've done it a few times, it won't be difficult at all anymore.

SimpleShot Pro Tip: Band Tuning
If you don't know how to tune your bands, you are missing out. Period.

In fact, knowing how to tune your bands properly is possibly the most important thing you can learn in order to shoot slingshots well.
In this video, Nathan explains how to get the best possible performance out of your bands.

Introducing the Axiom Champ. A classic slingshot is reborn.
The new Axiom Champ slingshot from SimpleShot!
This slingshot has a rich history that we think you will enjoy hearing, and it is our newest owner of the title of "smallest slingshot from SimpleShot!"
This is a very small and pocketable slingshot and has the classic tie-in band attachment to keep it extraordinarily thin.
In this video you will hear about the history of this slingshot. It is based on the original axiom slingshot from 2011 but has been modified to be much thinner and scaled down about 80%. We even show you the originals and tell the story of how this slingshot was made.
The Axiom Champ has been around a while. It is one of the most influential frames in the western slingshot world and was one of the first frames to really commit to a flat frame style with no palmswell.
