Respawn Removing Original Titanfall From Sale Starting today, Respawn Entertainment will be removing the original Titanfall from sale, after years of struggling with issues of Distributed Denial of Service Attacks done by hackers. On a recent post on Twitter, Respawn Entertainment stated that sales for the game will be halted and will be removed from subscription services next year on the first of March. The reasoning behind this decision was due to the endless battle against hackers in 2019, causing the game to have negative reviews on Steam. Despite a little hope at the start of 2021, the problem kept on getting worse leading up to July where Jason Garza, the community coordinator at Respawn, acknowledged that the demands of Apex Legends meant that only “one or two people” were still working on Titanfall support. With the current player count being on Steam is seven, while assuming that the number is similar on Origin, this could be also one of the main reasons why Respawn made the decision to pull the plug, while the servers will remain online for now. Halo Infinite Will Give Players Bonus XP For Their First Few Matches Daily Halo Infinite will give players bonus xp for their first few matches daily starting today. Ever since, the surprise launched of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer beta, the game’s battle pass progression has been a major topic by the Halo community. From the start, there were no XP to be earned from playing matches, and in response, 343 industries implemented a permanent “play one game” challenge that awards the player 50xp each time, but John Junyszek mentioned that the studio noticed that players were starting their sessions with slower payouts than they would like. Addressing this problem, when players play six games a day, they will be rewarded more xp that will gradually decrease to 50xp after playing seven games. While this makes player progression more efficient, the game still has many issues to address, which will be fixed base on player feedback to improve Halo Infinite’s multiplayer experience. Despite the long wait for the anticipated Metroid Prime 4, the game’s prolonged development is indicative of Japanese companies and Nintendo as a whole. Phil Spencer Wants To Legalize Emulation Phil Spencer wants to legalize emulation, as he voiced his belief that older games need to be preserved for future generations to experience. Speaking with Axios, the Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that the gaming industry needs to prioritize the preservation of older video games while backing up that other forms of media have been doing this. Therefore, he suggested that one way to enact video game preservation would be for industry leaders to offer “legal emulation.” He then continued stating that his hope is as an industry we would work on legal emulation that allowed modern hardware to run any older executable allowing someone to play any game. He then finished saying “I think in the end, if we said, ‘Hey, anybody should be able to buy any game, or own any game and continue to play,’ that seems like a great North Star for us as an industry.” Throughout the years, emulating has always seem to have been a more efficient alternative to play older video games that are usually difficult to find or too expensive to purchase off of stores such as Ebay, and the possibilities of emulating being legalized is something that time will only tell. Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Launches in a Bad State Grand Theft Auto Trilogy launces in a bad state, which resulted with Rockstar Games to temporarily to remove the PC version for maintenance. This week, the remastered trilogy launched exclusively on PC only to result in the game to suffer with significant amount of issues making it unplayable. As of right now, the PC version is currently unavailable on Rockstar Games website, while the Rockstar Game Launcher remains offline. However, the remastered collection is currently available to play on PlayStation and Xbox platforms including the Nintendo Switch. In a recent tweet made by Rockstar Games, they stated that the service for the Rockstar Game Launcher is currently offline for maintenance, and they will return as soon as maintenance is completed. While it is unfortunate for the game to launch in this state, the collection does deliver one of the best in the series, but if you haven’t purchased, it is best to probably wait until the bugs are completely patched along with improving its overall performance such as it’s framerate and resolution hopefully in the near future. The application has been available on various PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and after four years since launch, the Nintendo Switch is finally joining in. When we meant that “It’s currently not the best play to use as of right now,” this means that the application is missing a good amount of key features that are currently available on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. While you can watch people stream their games and interact with the chat, you would not be able to stream your own games on it just like what you can do on both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. While watching the stream, the only options the user has are to pause, hide the UI, or close the stream. However, users can authorize their accounts to use the chat on their mobile phones while watching. The app is currently available to download at 31 MB, but it would probably best to wait until it has some improvements in the future. After the major success with fifth installment of the series, Sakurai stated that he is currently not thinking about a sequel as of right now, and that there is a possibility that the latest entry in the series is “definitely” the last game of the Super Smash Bros. franchise. In a recent report, Nintendo has won a major victory against a member of a hacking team Team-Xecuter who pleaded guilty for selling custom firmware that enabled piracy. In the recent years, Nintendo has been very aggressive against website that allow users to download ROMs based off of Nintendo’s popular IPs to emulate such as EmuParadise, including other websites and hackers that make it possible for users to emulate games that are available on the Nintendo Switch. Team-Xecuter was responsible for the custom firmware known as SX OS, which was sold through a network of resellers. In result, Nintendo first went after those resellers, and won many cases, which eventually lead to Team-Xecuter, which ended up getting the United States Justice Department involved. Gary Bowser was arrested in the Dominic Republic and was sent back to the United States to face eleven felony counts, which also included both money laundering and wire fraud. After the case was closed with Bowser pleading guilty, he will serve ten years in prison. Even though we had no clear information on when these two titles would be coming out after they were announced a few years ago, it is still possible to have them delayed regardless, even when Jeff Kaplan mentioned at BlizzCon 2019 when he had no idea when Overwatch 2 would be released. Over the Halloween weekend, Aggiornamenti Lumia, who have made the claim of the anticipated first person shooter of the year getting early access, stated that Microsoft was in the process of adding Halo Infinite DLC, and on the 29th of October, they said that the game has also got three new DLCs coming out followed up by claiming that will be a fourth one available. As of right now, the Early Access store is entirely empty, but if it happens to be valid, that means that there is a plan on the possibilities to allow players a chance to try out Halo Infinite before it launches next month. Whether the DLC will offer new maps as done traditional with previous games in the Halo series or campaign DLC that will continue the narrative of Halo Infinite similar to how it was done with the Spartan Ops mode for Halo 4, only time will tell.
