Review of an cheap (Inexpensive) Chinese solar charge controller
I have a cheap (Inexpensive) Chinese charge controller which I expect will be useful for small solar power projects. In this video, I will be showing how to connect and use this charge controller. These controllers cost anywhere from $10 to $20, depending on where you buy it (a modest expense if it works, but a waste of money if it doesn't).
Please note that this solar charge controller is only used for Flooded Lead Acid (deep cycle marine) batteries and AGM batteries. Do not use this with lithium batteries.
This controller is intended for solar projects I will be designing and using as needed for any type of grid down situations.

Connecting and Testing My Cheap Chinese inverter from AliExpress
Recently, I purchased what I thought was a 1600-Watt pure sine wave inverter from AliExpress to see how it would look and run. I found in the unboxing that it was not a 1600-Watt inverter but was reported to be an 800-watt inverter. It is a pure sine wave, but it did not pass our testing.
I used two vacuum cleaners, one is a 240 Watt and the other a 600 Watt. This invertor did run the 240-watt vacuum cleaner, but totally failed with the 600-watt vacuum. I cannot recommend this cheap Chinese inverter from Ali Express.

I purchased what I thought was a 1600-Watt pure sign wave inverter to see how it would look and run. I found in this unboxing that it was not a 1600-Watt inverter, but an 800-watt inverter. It claims to be pure sign wave, but this will be tested and verified in subsequent videos. This was not what was advertised.
I planned on using this cheap Chinese inverter in a stand-alone solar project to charge some battery-operated tools. I did not plan on using this inverter as a part of my solar power system that runs the homestead when the power goes out. But it might be usable as a part of an overall strategy in a long-term grid-down situation.

This video will walk the viewer through the connecting and testing of Harbor Freight 35-AH AGM batteries in parallel. The basic concept is that, when connecting in parallel, the two batteries will work together to add the amp hour ratings of each batteries, while the voltage remains the same. The example shown is two 12-volt, 35-Ah batteries wired in parallel which become capable of providing 12 volts for 70 amp hours (35-Ah + 35-Ah).
