Many years ago people looked at what they had on hand and made do. we can still do this today if we keep in mind that everything we build is temporary, and not follow the idea that it has to be perfect!! Fixing up a foreclosure and adding on a bit then selling it is a great way to become debt free in the country but we spent ten years living in town to be able to do that!! we invested 1,000s of hours of time and labor to do that. its not the only way to get debt free but it is a good way buying and selling at the right time can help but its not critical. its really about what you do to the place.
