2021 E63S Driven! AMG Dominates the Rivals again!
The King of super saloons! But how does AMG make an E63S?! Let’s tear the car apart and then check the internals, before comparing it to rivals on sound, and a full drive!
Big thanks to YFood for sponsoring today’s episode! Link below, use the code RACE10! http://bit.ly/RemoveBeforeRace_YFood
Unlike the C63 which loses its V8, the E will maintain the 4.0 V8 hand built at AMG. It’s
Turbos are twin scroll, meaning much more responsive compared to single scroll and it’s the only car in segment with Dynamic engine mounts - which helps massively with handling the main weight of the car. It also has cylinder deactivation in comfort mode, between 1000 to 3250rpm shutting down to 4: which we AMG guys don’t really care about.
It also maintains the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G (with wet start-off clutch) A wet multi-plate start-off clutch replaces the torque converter, which you see in rival cars. It saves weight and optimises response, especially when accelerating or coming off the power. Finally linked to the AMG 4matic Plus fully variable all wheel drive system with drift mode, with Electronically regulated rear-axle locking differential.
All of that gives you, 612 BHP, 850NM and 0-60 in 3.4 - but we tested it MUCH quicker!
AMG dynamics is a new feature too, it influences the ESP system based on your requirements or driver skill. It goes from basic, advanced, pro all of which you can choose on the fly, and a final master level when everything is off.
AMG ride control suspension with multi-chamber air suspension has been modified in the facelift to be more comfortable, something the old car struggled with. And we have the AMG valve control Exhaust system: but how good will it sound?

2021 Audi RS4 Avant: Better than the RS6 - Full Review
Facelift RS4 better than the RS6? Big thanks to Crepchief Notify for sponsoring this episode, use the code “CCN10” to get £10 off, use the link below!
http://www.crepchiefnotify.com/rokenr2021
The last time the RS4 was on the channel, it was before RBR levelled up to the unique channel that you guys enjoy today, so I’ve never given it the presentation that it deserves here on my canvas for you! That changes today, as I’ll take you through the full history of the “true” #AudiSport wagon, leading to this facelift!
The RS4’s birth is linked to the birth fo Audi Sport itself, going back to the very first RS named car. And that was the Audi 80 RS2. It was a bold statement by Audi at the time, a sports wagon built with the help of Porsche - you’ll see the 911 wheels and brakes and much more - it was even built in Zuffenhausen and features Porsche parts throughout, along with heavy modifications to the suspension and more. The highlight was the engine, Porsche tuned Audi’s most powerful 2.2 litre 5 cylinder engine to produce 315BHP. 0-60 was a quick 5.4 seconds, and the 0-30 MPH was clocked faster than the McLaren F1!!
A whole 5 years later came the first RS4 B5, before any RS6 was created, this was the fast Audi wagon. It had a 2.7 twin turbo V6 from Cosworth, with 380 BHP and a 0-60 of 4.9 seconds. It was so popular, Audi doubled their original production estimates for this car.
In 2005, came the natural V8 version in the B7. This time available in Sedan and cabriolet versions too. The V8 made 420BHP, healthy even by today’s standards, though with a similar 0-60. It also had a clever asymmetrical torque control Quattro system, giving 40% power on front and 60% on the rear. It was also the only one in class to offer carbon ceramics at the time, and the last ever to be manual only!
2012 Saw a return to Wagon only in the B8, still a natural v8 but this time paired to a dual clutch gearbox, it has the same horsepower as our car today at 450 BHP, though the S-Tronic of course made the 0-60 faster. It was the last time we will see a V8, and to my eyes, the most muscular #Audi #RS4 ever it just looks like that dude in the gym forever stuck in bulking season!
Fast forward to our pre-facelift, B9 first version. Once again linking to Porsche like the RS2, by sharing the then new V6 twin turbo engine, and linking to the B5 with the V6 element too. It’s a hot V too, so a very responsive natural feeling engine. Whole car is 35kg lighter thus than it’s predecessor. Quattro system as with the B8 goes up to 85% to the rear, essentially giving some nice rear wheel feeling, and the Gearbox is a torque converter this time.
Our new car, essentially the same formula. Few changes, much like rivals AMG and M did with their facelifts. Main news, Its lighter with sound deadening removed along with other tweaks, giving over 100kg difference now vs the old V8. The gearbox is apparently, snappier, with new software. And we have a host of tech changed inside too. But is it enough vs the M3 and C63S, and where does it stand vs the RS6? Today we explore:
- The History of the RS4
- Audi 80 RS2 Avant
- The first RS4 - B5 RS4 Avant Cosworth
- RS4 B7 Avant V8
- RS4 B8 Avant V8
- RS4 B9 1st generation pre-facelift V6

Mercedes EQS - Electric S-Class! Epic Technology BUT is it Ugly?
Make or break for #MercedesEQ ’s EV line up!! The new EQS is here following on form the AVTR Concept, and the EQS concept itself, it sets the story going forward.
Built at the new Factory 56, alongside the #MercedesBenz S Class, it features an impressive 770km of range in both models, the EQS 450+ and the top EQS 580 4Matic.
Under the skin are permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM) new generation of batteries with higher density and a single speed transmission. EQS can be charged with up to 200 kW at fast charging stations - 300KM in 15 mins! The chassis of the new EQS, with a four-link axle at the front and a multi-link axle at the rear, is closely related in design to the new S-Class.
As for power, the #EQS 450+ is RWD and gives 333BHP, 568NM and a 6.2 secs to 60. This is all from a single PSM on the rear. The 580 has 523 BHP, 855NM and gets to 60 in 4.3 secs, but from two motors 135 kW (front) and 255 kW (rear). Both have a Top speed 210KM.
The car is heavy though, RWD is 2480 KG and 2585 KG make both models 300kg heavier than the respective Taycan.
But there are loads of amazing luxury options, like automatic comfort doors at the front and rear, DIGITAL LIGHT headlight projectors, standard rear-axle steering and much more!
Design is totally different to the combustion cars and well dive into the 'Black Panel' grille and one bow/cab forward design. Bud all in all, with a cd of 0.2 - it’s the most aerodynamic production car in the world which means more range, and less noise!
But it’s going to split opinion, it it good looking enough and if not does the tech make up for it? Today we explore:
- The New EQS
- AVTR concept and EQS Concept
- Electric motors - PSM
- Transmission
- Batteries and range
- Performance 450+ and 580 4Matic
- Weight of cars
- Design exterior - One Bow, Cab forward
- EQS Edition 1
- EQS vs S Class
- EQS vs Taycan
- Worlds most Aerodynamic car

New 73 AMG V8! Plus AMG’s 1st EV Car! Everything you need to know!
The GT73E AMG is coming! Big thanks to Crepchief Notify for sponsoring this episode, use the code “CCN10” to get £10 off, use the link below!
www.crepchiefnotify.com/rokenr2021
Welcome back to RBR guys, and to steal Clarksons classic catchphrase, today is all about POWAAAA!800 BHP worth of power to be exact, from a new P3 hybrid system being introduced by #MercedesAMG starting in this new AMG GT73E, as it’s rumoured to be called. Lots of focus recently on how the C Class loses the V8, but we keep forgetting how it’s gaining new life in hybrid form, faster and potentially more exciting than before.
Today we will take a deep dive into the hybrid system, see what it steals from F1 and the Project one, and learn about how AMG are doing It in a more clever way than everyone else. Then we’ll take a look at the camo car, and I’ll give you a sneak into other cars that I think will share this system! And finally, I’ll share news about the PURE EV AMG’s being planned!
There are 3 main areas to talk about in the new 73 AMGs, first the V8 Engine itself, the AMG Performance battery In the rear, the Electric Drive Unit on the rear and the software that brings it all together. Apart from the 4 cylinder hybrid element.
Let’s explore the P3 Hybrid set up that we are going to explore today, starting with the Engine. It’s the V8 4.0 engine from the GT63S and the AMG GTR. This has a belt-driven starter-alternator (BSG) to aid switching to and from EV mode, and still produces over 600BHP itself.
Electric Drive Unit or EDU is next. Which is the electric element. Unlike traditional systems that have the electric motor in-between the combustion engine and transmission #AMG have installed a super clever unit on the rear instead! That compact unit houses some real magic, inside it we have the E-Motor itself which is a permanently excited one just like you’d see in say a taycan, a 2 speed transmission for that motor where the 2nd gear is for speeds above 140km, and finally a limited slip differential. There’s even a full #EV mode possible in this GT73!
Next the AMG PERFORMANCE BATTERY, Mercedes AMG has developed a new performance battery developed with F1 High Performance Powertrains (HPP) Formula 1 engine forge in Brixworth, with new tech from Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach. It is a 400VOLT battery with 560 cells, and it’s again very clever particularly with cell specific cooling as you’ll see. Result is consistent temp and thus consistent power of 93BHP continuous power and 320NM torque, or 201 BHP at peak for 10 seconds!
Recuperation under braking is in too, you have four stages; Level 0, 1, 2 and 3 – selectable by the driver via the right-hand-side steering wheel button. In Level 3, the generator is capable of capturing up to 90kW of electrical energy!
So we have both the EDU, and the performance battery on the rear, which is great though, this whole system adds about 200KG weight compared to the GT63S, but in terms of performance? Up to 800BHP, 0-60 of under 3 and much more torque than 1000nm!!!
There’s also a pure EV AMG coming based on the EQS, which I also show you. Let’s take a deep dive and explore:
⁃GT63S overview
⁃V8 4.0 M177 Engine
⁃Belt driven starter alternator
⁃EDU Electric drive unit
⁃Electric motor, 2 speed transmission, Limited slip differential
⁃GT73 EV mode
⁃AMG Performance Battery
⁃Charging and recouperatik
⁃New GT73 BHP and performance
⁃New GT73E Render
⁃AMG S73, AMG G73, New SL73
⁃The AMG EQS EV

OFFICIAL: AMG’s 643bhp New C63! F1 Tech, EV Mode, BUT it’s not a V8!
This C63 E video is sponsored by NordVPN! Go to https://nordvpn.com/rbr use code “RBR” to get a 2-year plan plus 1 additional month with a huge discount!
I told you! Some of you didn’t believe me, but I told you! The next C63 won’t have a V8, instead it’s a 4 Cylinder Hybrid. As I predicted last time, this new Hybrid line of cars will come under the AMG E Performance brand headlined by the AMG Project ONE. But, what I was wrong about, was the final output of power. I assumed 520 bhp as a slight bump about the V8… but AMG have smashed that figure to pieces with 643 Peak output! They’ve genuinely gone all out to create a car that while loses the V8, fills the void with one-to-one F1 technology, insane performance figures and even an EV mode! So today let’s take a very special look at the new AMG E Performance drive line for the next C63, and please also welcome my new fellow host Tobias to the channel! :)
There are 4 main areas to talk about in the new C63, first the Engine itself, then the new E-Turbo within the engine, the AMG Performance battery In the rear, and finally the Electric Drive Unit on the rear. Apart from the 4 cylinder hybrid element, the next gen car will be all wheel drive using the 4matic+ we’ve seen before in the E63 and GT63, with the pure rear wheel drift mode.
Let’s explore the P3 Hybrid set up that we are going to explore today, starting with the Engine. It’s the M139 engine that started life in the A45S, as the worlds most powerful production 4 cylinder at 421BHP. In that car, it was installed transversely or sideways. However, it will be installed longitudinally in the #C63 as with every C to date. AMG says it’s been thoroughly reworked and its performance significantly increased to the most powerful.
The big difference is the electric exhaust-gas turbocharger. This technology comes directly from F1 and is called MGU-H (Motor Generator Unit Heat), for the first time in a production vehicle. An identical system already powers the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE hypercar. This unit gives you the fast-responding nature of a small turbocharger, and high peak power of a large turbo. So that reworked M139 now gives 442 BHP, by itself.
Electric Drive Unit or EDU is next. This is a major part of the system. Unlike having the electric motor in-between the combustion engine and transmission which is more typical, AMG have installed a super clever unit on the rear instead! That compact unit houses some real magic, inside it we have the E-Motor itself which is a permanently excited one just like you’d see in say a taycan, a 2 speed transmission for that motor where the 2nd gear is for higher speeds (again as you’d see in a high end EV like taycan), and finally a more familiar limited slip differential. There’s even a full #EV mode possible
Next the AMG PERFORMANCE BATTERY, #MercedesAMG has developed their own performance battery Inspired by F1 learning, it was developed by High Performance Powertrains (HPP) Formula 1 engine forge in Brixworth and Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach. It is a 400VOLT battery, with 560 cells, and it’s again very clever particularly with cooling. Result is consistent temp and thus consistent power of 93BHP continuous, and 320NM too, or 201 BHP at peak for 10 seconds!!!
Recuperation under braking is in too, you have four stages; Level 0, 1, 2 and 3 – selectable by the driver via the right-hand-side steering wheel button. In Level 3, the generator is capable of capturing up to 90kW of electrical energy!
So we have both the EDU, and the performance battery on the rear, which is great though, this whole system adds about 200KG weight, so whatever you save on the V8 you’ll gain on this system!
But look how much you gain in performance too. 540 BHP continuous power, a peak of over 640BHP, a 0-60 of likely sub 3.5 maybe even quicker. Let’s take a deep dive and explore:
- Next 2021 C63 overview
- M139 C63 Engine
- New E-Turbo from the Project ONE
- Belt driven starter alternator
- EDU Electric drive unit
- Electric motor, 2 speed transmission, Limited slip differential
- C63 EV mode
- AMG Performance Battery
- New C63 BHP and performance
- New C63E Render
- New C63 Wagon Render

Porsche Taycan RWD vs 4S! Don't Buy into the Hype! 2021 Buyers Guide
Taycan RWD vs 4S video is in Partnership with Stereo. Download Stereo and join myself and TGE for my next live show here: https://stereo.com/u/r21cFcDlisuoZ21
In true Porsche fashion, the Taycan family is growing! You can’t be a real Porsche until you have enough variants to completely confuse us all while spending hours on the configurator. So we thought, why not give you a Taycan Buyers Guide!
Today we’re looking at the two entry level cars of the Taycan line-up, the Taycan 4S and the newly introduced base Taycan, which is rear wheel driven only! I will also compare them in a way you’ve not seen here before, with a full augmented reality walkaround, in some parts!
So there’s tonnes of Taycans; Porsche recently announced the new Cross Turismo: a wagon shaped Taycan which sits higher, with more luggage room and off roading traits. It comes in a 4, 4S, Turbo and Turbo S, so theres another 4 taycans to choose or confuse! And incase you were confused thinking this is the last variant, there will also be a Sport Turismo: another wagon or shooting brake, but a LOW SLUNG car maintaining the sexy low down sports car look of the normal Taycan. This is my fave, can’t wait for it.
So there will probably be a literal dozen taycans for you to choose from, and thats a good thing, because as we found the Turbo S was a properly exciting sports car, and delivered on porsche’s Soul Electrified promise.
But we aren’t looking at dozens today, instead we’re going to focus on our two entry level models, by worked from the top of the range down.
First I’ll show you all the things the Taycan models shade, like the Permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, a 600-amp pulse inverter which is our motor on the rear, and a 2 speed gearbox.
But after this, there are significant mechanical changes among the Taycans, and for customers a very confusing number of power and range figures for what is the same car. For example you may hear the Turbo S is 761 BHP, but thats only on overboost in launch control. Otherwise it’s 635 BHP normally, the exact same as what you get on the normal Turbo daily! Range and power figures for some models also change depending on if you get the two deck performance battery...
So to make things much simpler, we’re going to explore them all in a very Simple way today!

You NEED The New Bentley GT! And here's Why!
Welcome back to RBR guys, today we have our first ever Bentley video on the channel!! The 3rd generation #Bentley Continental GT! Today we’ll check out the history that leads up to this car, the changes made in generation 3, some awesome interior details and of course the sound and drive of this epic W12 engine car.
So guys the history of #BentleyMotors began with the man of the same name, Walter Owen Bentley, better known as WO. His career didn’t start in cars, but rather trains and later the war effort, but his skills were transferred thereafter to his dream of founding his own car company; he was quoted as saying he wanted to "To build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class.”
Since then, the goal of Bentley has been to create the best possible touring sports #supercar. His last and most infamous car, the 8 Litre, was the best example of this. A ludicrous engine paired to a dead silent 100MPH long distance touring vehicle. The course for the company was pretty much set from here on. Whats so cool is, every CEO from Bentley gets the 8 litre as their company car!
Shortly after this, the Great Depression hit, and Rolls Royce sneakily bought a struggling Bentley motors in receivership via a shell company. After this, much of what “Bentley” produced was simply re-skinned Rolls Royce vehicles. But there were some stand outs, particularly when H J Mulliner got involved, a different design team to Park Ward who Rolls used otherwise. Hence the Mulliner spec name used even today!
They made the First 2 doors cars in the 1950’s at Crewe where the factory is still located today, 10% lighter than the standard Silver dawn based car, they were the most expensive production cars in the world and the world's fastest 4/5-seater saloons with a top speed above 120 mph. These were mainly made for the UK, where we had no motorways back then, so these were created for open roads of continental Europe – hence the introduction of the name, ‘Continental’!
What followed was 30 years of using the same Rolls Royce rebadging, or regrilling, theme. That was until 1991 where the continental R was created, the first unique Bentley in all those years, we can still see hints of our modern cars in it.
In 1997, parent company Vickers decided it wanted to sell Rolls Royce, and in thus Bentley in town. We’ll cover that story another day but VW outbid BMW and long story short, ended up with the Bentley brand. The VW owned Bentley resurrected the Continental brand with their first ever car on a mass production line, and a with an equally impressive engine: 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 producing a crazy 560bhp and 479lb ft of torque!
It immediately became the GT super cruiser of choice, with waiting lists filmed with premiership football players. Though, we most note that both first and second generation Continentals were based on the VW phaeton, and though Bentley made full use of the resources available to it from the mothership, they always felt like they were based on an old car.
Then came GEN 3: this one is big news. The sleek design betrays the massive change under the skin, the platform itself which was built along side VW friend Porsche, called the MSB platform. It also underpins the Porsche Panamera, but very much some Bentley influence built in too!
There’s a 48 volt active anti roll bar, and 3 camber air suspension. The engine is the W12, its reworked with new cylinder heads, and moved back for a better 55/45 weight distribution. It produces 626bhp and 664lb ft (a 44bhp improvement, and more than the last GT Speed) but the headline for me was the 0-60 in 3.6 seconds!!
Will it all be enough to propel the Conti to dynamic levels it never previously reached? Today we explore:
- The History Of Bentley Motors
- Walter Owen Bentley
- The 8 Litre
- The Great Depression and Rolls Royce
- The first Continentals and HJ Mulliner
- Vickers Bentley models - Continental R/ T
- VW purchase of Bentley
- 2003 Continental GT

New 2021 BMW M3 Driven! Game over AMG and Audi!?
The King is back!! #M3 competition road review. Thanks to Ridge for sponsoring this video! Visit http://ridge.com/rbr” and use code “RBR” for 10% off.
The grille, it probably hurts those who don’t like it more, because this is the Flagship of #BMWM, an undeniable fact when you look at its history! But I’ve had quite the different run up to driving this car. I got to see it before the launch, and thus looked at it with fresh eyes and no outside opinions. And for me as a big AMG fan, the more aggressive look appealed to me. It reminded me of the old 328, the modern 328 hommage, or the epic CSL Hommage concept.
Back then that #W M3 was in Green, then I got to see a stealthy matte grey when I visited the M Town set to film the ad for the performance wheels, this made me more of a believer. The M3 touring I saw in secret finished it off!!
And finally today, the big drive. I’ve already driven both the M4 and this M3, and as a spoiler I can tell you, they’ve both smashed my expectations to pieces!
M have worked hard on the new M3, but it gets lost in the controversial grille, and the similar performance on paper: not to mention the X3m not helping with it’s lacklustre introduction using the same engine.
But looking inside as we will today, everything is from scratch. New engine, 8 speed ZF gearbox, suspension, exhaust system, rigidity measure... Tonnes has been done to make these cars as good as they are, l no stone left unturned, so where on paper performance seems similar it’s the drive that really shows us more! Today we’re going to do a deep dive and check out every detail and then burn some rubber M Town style in the new M3 comp!
In this first look we go over:
- M3 Body vs the standard 3 series
- The design details
- Engine internals
- Turbos, crankshaft, 3d printing
- Standard M3 Manual vs Competition and AWD M XDrive M3
- The exhaust system - pipes, OPF, vales

My Cheap A45 Transformed : PTS Paint, 63 Exhausts, CarPlay + More! - Best 45 AMG Mods
I really love my A45. It’s a giant killer, at a giant killing price. And today, I’ll show you how to upgrade an 45 to make it MORE AMG, by giving showing you some of the best mods doable! Big thanks to Crepchief Notify for sponsoring this episode, use the code “CCN10” to get £10 off, use the link below!
http://rbr.deals/crepchief
I first saw the model at my first ever motor show visit in Geneva 2013, even ran into May Watson! I visited it as a customer of #AMG, very sceptical of this new risky direction for AMG, as was everyone. But at36k it was as fast as the then C63, and it’s hand built motor was the most powerful production 4 cyl in the world, following the one-man one-engine tradition.
I test drove it many months later and fell in love: Great engine, #MercedesAMG sound, great steering and gearbox, and mini black series looks. This was a proper AMG! This car also prompted me to start cataloguing my car journey via Instagram with my first ever post, an act that later gave birth to RBR! So it holds a special place.
Now the New A45S is a massively capable car, with an even more powerful engine, and speed and agility that could genuinely keep up with a Supercar. But it costs a commensurate amount, at an eye watering 60 thousand pounds. A35 isn’t much cheaper in the 40’s.
But for me that takes the fun out of a hot hatch! They’re meant to be giant slayers, at a giant slaying price! SO, when i bought mine a year and a half ago, it was in-spite of the new car. It’s a pre-facelift too, low mileage at 7K in amazing condition, and I bought it for only circa 25k.
But the plan was always to take that great base, and make it more AMG, and modern, in every way: and I’m going to show you that today, including the best part, a whole new AMG paint finish!
The first thing I did, even before delivery was the wheels. I got the alloys from the new A45S, which changed the entire look of the car bringing it right in line with 2021 cars! Michelin also sent me the PS4S tyres: get them! Amazing performance and longevity.
Inside, I also added the AMG specific steering wheel and gear selector that my car wasn’t optioned with. The steering wheel was done in red dinamica from the SLS black series, but you can also get a carbon one from SW Customs, as you’ll see in my upcoming C63 Black Series transformation video.
Outside, i wanted a new paint finish and I didn’t like the poxy looking pipes of the original car.AMG and Mercedes don’t give much choice for custom colours, even the GT Black Series doesn’t get any PTS #Paint option.
Enter Fastlane Paint and Body, the official Bodyshop for Mercedes Benz World and many other dealers. They’ve started a new PTS, i.e. paint to sample service for ANY car post factory, and to top it off, it’s peelable paint so is totally reversible! I’ve already done my C63 Black Series in Solarbeam yellow with them (video coming in a few weeks), and I chose another VERY AMG colour that we’ve never seen on a compact AMG before.
So now, let’s head over to fastlane and show you the full peelable PTS process, before unveiling the car!!

Mr AMG on the CLA 45S Shooting Brake! AMG's best 45!? Full Review
This CLA 45S Shooting Brake video is in Partnership with Stereo. Download Stereo and join myself and Rory Reid tonight for my next live show here! : https://stereo.com/u/r21NoO9nTF9YZ21
So friends, I’ve been a little despondent of late with newer AMGs and AMG’s future in general. All that rings in my head is the lack of sound, axing of cool models and engines like the smaller 4 cylinders for the C Class AMGs and a general push towards SUVs and stuff that sells better for mass market!
Then this turns up! The CLA45S shooting brake, a car that encapsulates the bits of #AMG I love the most. It’s is a niche product, a car that will never sell in huge numbers, but its the type of car us petrol heads love. First off, it’s a gorgeous shooting brake, which is essentially a sexier wagon form factor usually reserved for much more exotic cars. Being a wagon it’s also super practical and it’s flipping fast, how fast? Wait to see the launch later.
It’s also no fake AMG, it’s got the worlds most powerful 4 cylinder engine, hand built at #MercedesAMG by one man, and the rest of the car is engineered to be a genuine top of the line AMG car.
Now you’d be undoubtedly correct when you say there are many variants of the compact AMG series, from all those 35 cars, to the full stable of 45S AMGs, and we’ve reviewed every single one. But this CLA 45S Shooting brake may be the best of all of them.
Like the A45S, it has 421 BHP that feels more like 550. 500 NM peak torque comes at 5000/5250rpm - mimicking the torque curve of a natural engine. And let’s not forget 4 Matic+ variable all wheel drive: This has two electronically controlled multidisc clutches that allow the car to have a fully RWD drift mode!
As on the Coupé, AMG have extensively reinforced the body shell, and we will explore all the technical changes in the video, as well as the interior practicality.
But will the larger body and different shape neuter the amazing feeling the A45 and #CLA45 gave us? Today we explore:
- The new CLA45S Shooting Brake
- The M139 AMG engine
- New engine technology and factory
- Reinforcement for rigidity
- Suspension and steering systems
- Exterior design
- CLA45 S Shooting Brake Aerodynamic Package
- CLA Shooting Brake boot space
- Rear space and car seat
- Interior overview
- CLA45S Launch control
- Full performance review
- Conclusion
Up next on on RBR is the unveil of my Old A45’s new spec, followed by our first Bentley review and MUCH MUCH More!! Subscribe to support us and see them first. :)

New Mercedes C-Class! Full first look + AMG 53/63 inside info!
The New generation #MercedesBenz C Class w206!! Big thanks to Crepchief Notify for sponsoring this episode, use the code “CCN10” to get £10 off, use the link below!
http://rbr.deals/crepchief
So in this post Covid world it would be unfair for me to travel just to get content for the channel. BUT I have personally directed all the footage you’ll see throughout the video. How? I’ll show you right after we unveil the new C, you’ll find it interesting!
So the new #Mercedes C Class w206 generation, finished in magno selenite grey. I’ll be showing you both the saloon, and the estate both of which launch from the get go on C Class.
This car is the first major step by Mercedes towards electrification, more in my opinion than the EQ series of cars. It’s the first classic model series by Mercedes to be 100% electrified in some manner, with ever car featuring a basic hybrid set up in the minimum, and then the full plug in hybrid models. Read the press release, and the words sustainable, climate, future, eco, electrification are littered throughout the release, honestly made me feel a little dirty by the end of it. So as far as any future bans on pure ICE cars go, the C is ready. It’s also a completely 4 cylinder family, yes including the upcoming AMGs! :(
So let’s first unpack the whole of the design, first the exterior of both the sedan and wagon, then the changes inside! Then we will check out the engines and plug in hybrid tech, as every new C Class is hybridised in some way, meaning they run on a 48v system plus ISG throughout all the petrol and diesel models. (As we’ve seen int he 53 AMGs)
The 4MATIC has been advanced too with the new front-axle drive allowing higher torque levels, in a lighter system. And a big new surprise like rear wheel steering in the #Cclass!
And then finally we will check out the AMG versions and their link to the AMG ONE hypercar, and the new “e-performance” brand. Today we explore:
- New C Class vs new E Class and S Class
- New 206 C Class vs Old 205 C Class
- Hybrid 4 Cylinder C Class family
- Electrification, ISG, 48v system, 9G Tronic Auto
- Technical updates to C Class 4matic
- Rear wheel steering
- Exterior design of the New C Class
- New C Class wagon/estate
- New paint finishes - Spectral Blue, High tech silver
- New C Class Interior first look
- The future AMG versions - New C43 / C53
- 4 cylinder New C63S
- Renders of new C43/C53
- Conclusion

2021 Porsche 911 GT3 992 - Everything you need to know!
The king is back! Welcome back to RBR for a first look at the new generation of what is arguably the world’s most exciting sports car!
This is the brand new #GT3 of the 992 generation, and is the first GT product from weissach for this generation. Incredibly, it’s still naturally aspirated with no turbos in sight, comes standard with a Manual transmission, and as you’ll see later in this video, still sounds incredible despite stringent EU regulations that have neutered rivals!
Of course during covid lockdowns there was no opportunity to fly to Germany to film the car, but when #Porsche press ask you to make something cool on GT3, you say yes! Particularly when you have RBR magic. Test drives aren’t far away in the uk, so take this as a taster to the main course coming soon.
So 992. Slightly bigger, always wider, stiffer aluminium based body, better tech, and to my eyes the best modern design we have had. Turbo S destroyed all expectations with a more GT like experience and now it’s time for the first GT product, this GT3 finished in the new Shark blue!
Unlike turbo, GT isn’t about power, it’s about pure driving pleasure. First: despite the larger body and increased technical and safety requirements: the new GT3 weighs the same as the last one at 1435kg PDK and 1418kg in manual.
The engine is still natural, revs to 9k and is the 4.0-litre a further developed unit as previously found in the last speedster, and essentially unchanged vs the GT3 cup car; 0-60 of the PDK is 3.4seconds, but the car comes standard with the 6 speed manual, with auto blip function.
Exhaust system is a stainless steel one, and sounds fairly incredible despite having two gasoline particulate filters. Wait till you hear it!!
Best change is the double wishbones rather than MacPherson struts in the front, taking its design from the 911 RSR Le Mans car. 5 arm rear axle also has additional ball joints for the lower wishbones, for greater precision. And finally rear wheel steering up to 2 degrees is still here!
In additon: today we explore:
⁃#911 992 C2S, Carrera and Turbo S
⁃The New 992 GT3
⁃Weight of PDK and manual
⁃4.0 engine
⁃New GT3 performance figures
⁃Exhaust system
⁃Double wishbone suspension
⁃Other suspension changes and rear steer
⁃Weight saving measures
⁃Carbon bonnet
⁃Swan neck rear wing
⁃Aerodynamics and rear diffuser
⁃New GT3 Nurburgring lap time - Cup 2 R tyres
⁃Exterior design vs 991 GT3
⁃Interior
⁃Clubsport package
⁃992 GT3 touring
⁃992 GT3 RS

Aston's Vantage Roadster is a LOUD V8 brute! CAUTION: You'll want one!!
Welcome back to RBR I’m your host Raz, and I don’t like Roadsters… Especially when I love the coupe version enough, and never felt myself wanting more emotion out of it. Soft top roadsters kill roofline design, add weight, reduce rigidity and bugger up steering. BUT… sometimes, a manufacturer can be clever enough to lessen some of these typical issues and an extra layer of emotion. So while it has a tough act to follow in the super fun coupe, let’s see if the new #AstonMartin can surprise us with the brand new #Vantage Roadster!
Some behind the scenes facts to begin with: this is a USA spec car, which means it has some ugly things on the exterior which you can see. But, one benefit for us, is it doesn’t have the EU OPF filter that reduces emissions but more fatally kills exhaust sounds, stick around later in the video to hear what it sounds like! Its ridiculous with that AMG engine…!
Now we reviewed the vantage coupe already, a car that #JamesBond never had, but he really did because the DB10 gave birth to it. It’s an epic thing, based on the new bonded aluminium platform shared with DB11, unlike this old vantage it allowed Aston to completely change the driving characteristics between the DB and Vantage cars.
And this was far more of a brute than the DB11, but a surprisingly better daily in my estimation too. The looks were marmite, but I liked the hunter face. Now in an almost mid life lift, theres a new option available to both coupe and roadster called the “Vane” grille. It’s more traditional, and reminds me more of the DB10. Looks damn good on a coupe too as you’ll see.
Design wise with the roadster, it has a new roofline thanks to the soft top, and a traditional boot rather than the coupe’s hatchback lid. The boot also has a dip in it, presumably for aerodynamics.
Now the engine has a proper roar from the Mercedes AMG Sourced V8! It produces 510PS and 685Nm, and just sh 0.1 from the coupe on 0-60 3.7 seconds. The engine has Aston’s own electronics and the 8 speed ZF box, it’s a great gearbox with lots of breadth of ability in comfort and sportier set ups.
The roof takes just 6.7 seconds opening and closing, makes it the fastest to complete the whole operation in the world. Less important that number, vs the ease of use daily. It’s simply super quick, so theres no thinking twice or finding an opportunity. The roof Adds 60kg, which is not bad considering something like GT R adds close to 100kg! Z Fold operation, keeps the roof folded high, keeping boot space at a respectable level of 200 litres, and they insist on telling you it’ll fit a golf bag, or dead henchman…
And finally, there’s a Manual version available too! But can it ever hope to match the epic coupe?? Today we explore:
- Vantage Coupe vs Vantage Roadster
- New grille and DB10 007
- AMG Engine and Aston Changes
- Where’s the AMG engine badge?
- Tobias Moers at Aston
- Exterior Design
- New Aston Vane grille conversion for vantage coupe
- Vantage Roadster roof operation and speed
- Non-OPF Exhaust sound
- Vantage Launch Control
- Full performance review
- Exhaust sound
- Comfort and steering
- Conclusion

Aston Martin DBX - The Most Exciting Sports SUV! Full Road Review
SUV Sports Car? Welcome back to RBR, and to the The SUV with the soul of a sports car! Built in new St Athans plant in Wales, it’s a crunch moment car for Aston. The last of Andy Palmer’s second century legacy before the coming of AMG Legend Tobias Moers as the new CEO.
Car industry fact: SUV’s make money, and this DBX has been planned since 2015. Looking at the Cayenne’s success it’s easy to see why: they make money in the right countries, with the biggest demographics. So for a company wanting to boost their customer reach and build cash reserves, this DBX is a big deal. As we saw, the first Concept DBX was an utterly bizarre one. Thankfully, they settled on a much more mainstream shape, something a supercar customer can use as their go to school vehicle.
It’s an odd one though: it’s priced bang smack in Urus and Bentayga territory, starting at 158k, you’ll get to 170/180 with some ease on a configurator, probably a faster than the DBX could reach 180MPH. But the Urus has major performance advantages with 650 hp, 0-60 in close to 3 seconds… vs the DBX’s 540 and 4.3. Heck, a fully spec’d RSQ8 has 600 BHP and 3.8 seconds for 126k!
So what can the Aston bring to the table to differentiate itself in this fiercely competitive market, it ways that it’s siblings in the DB11 and Vantage seem to do with ease? We will explore this on the drive.
Many assume that since the engine and gearbox are AMG sourced, alongside the infotainment and some switch gear means that the whole car must be Mercedes sourced. E63 clad mules didn’t help that case but that is simply not the case. Just like the DB11, this is a whole New SUV platform, clean sheet for the SUV. Bonded aluminium just like the sports car Aston platform. Being their own platform has given them freedoms in terms of chassis, design and technologies. The shape of the car, it is shorter in height than the rivals, and sometimes seems the size of a car the class below. This is in part due to the smooth edges and short overhangs. The Vantage similarities no doubt help. Yet despite this, it’s class leader in interior space. Theres also a flat floor with no sill to climb over, making it the easiest in class to get in and out of.
In terms of internals, of course it AMG V8 as seen used in Vantage and DB11 but it only has 542BHP and 700NM, and a slowish 4.3second 0-60. The 9 speed is apparently also Mercedes based, but of course with Aston’s own software and driving modes as we will discover. It has Triple volume air suspension linked to a 48v anti roll system - 1400nm of anti roll force per axle. And the ride height is fully adjustable - All wheel drive system has the eDiff limited slip in the rear, torque split fully variable.
SO all of this, very typical of today’s performance SUVs. On paper at least, we will have to see how the custom platform fairs when we drive it! Today we explore:
- DBX Concept of 2015
- DBX vs Urus and RSQ8
- Bonded aluminium platform
- DBX Suspension and drive train
- AMG Engine and DBX Changes
- Exterior Design
- Future DBX S Model/ AMR
- Interior review

Brabus B53 500!! Fixing the Slowest AMG - GLE 53!
Welcome back to RBR guys! #Brabus power to the 53 GLE, so now who needs the GLE 63?? One of the most popular #MercedesAMG’s on the channel: the new GLE 53 4matic+ with 7 Seats. We last reviewed the 7 Seater GLE and found it to be a pretty great option vs the GLB and GLS in MB’s Line up. The 53 AMG features the in-line 6 turbo AMG Engine with Hybrid EQ boost giving 435BHP 520nm, with a EQ hybrid boost of a further 22BHP and 250nm. But it was never enough for us, only giving a 0-60 of 5.2 seconds. Frankly it just felt slow.
Enter Brabus, with the POWERXTRA B53-500 for the #AMG GLE 53! It raises the pure combustion power to 500 BHP, upping the torque to 590 NM and improving the 0-60 to 5.0: a fact we will check with a launch control in the video!
The car belongs to @t1dso from instagram (give him a follow below). He has made some typical Brabus style changes such as the blacked badges and Brabus 500 logos, alongside PPF to create a Magno Black finish, and finally red callipers to match the AMG dynamic plus pack look: a very aggressive car!
Will the 500bhp be enough? In this review I explore:
- GLE 53 performance
- GLE 500 by Brabus
- GLE 53 500 Performance

New M5 Competition LCI! BUT is an Old M5 better?!
Welcome back to RBR guys! It’s always fun when we have an updated automotive icon to explore isn’t it? The battle for the best Performance Saloon has always been a viciously fought one over the ages, and the most infamous champion in the space has been #BMW’s M5. Ever since the original E12 m535i or the 1985 E28 #M5 with the M88 engine from the M1, the M5 has been the benchmark for the performance saloon.
Now we have the LCI M5, LCI means life cycle if you didn’t know, to dumbest name for facelift ever, but on the face of it looks to address some of the main issues I found with the last competition, while bringing it in line with current cars in terms of tech specifically in the interior.
Things haven’t been easy for the M5 as they used to be a few decades ago. Recent history has seen the rivals from AMG and Porsche make things all the more difficult. New Pan Turbo S is a monster, E63S just updated with marmite looks but much improved suspension allegedly. Plus, I found the #BMWM M8 to be much more comfortable while having better steering, and things like the GT63S exist to make matters more complicated.
Now regardless, I really loved the original M5, with 600 BHP i thought it was powerful enough while maintaining the balance versus comfort that’s so crucial in a performance saloon. Always thought the E63 rode hard, until i drove the M5 Competition and understood the meaning of crashy!
Luckily, M have tackled those very issues. So while the power of the M5 remains 600BHP, and the Competition at 625, the main changes come to the suspension. We have new shock absorbers carried over from the M8, which remember we found to be much better. The chassis has also been retuned.
Now a quick look inside, and let’s hear the stock exhaust system!
So let’s explore the update to the most infamous M Car, with the new M5 competition!

- F90 Competition pre-facelift
- M5 LCI Chances
- New suspension

Welcome back to RBR guys! Now most modern manufacturers, like AMG, will build an awesome iconic car like the E63S. Sit back, brew a cup of tea and eat some well earned bratwurst. Our work here is done. No need to make special editions or black limited run cars anymore.
That’s not the way for #BMWM. They’re going through a Renaissance of sorts, ignoring the controversial design choices of the new M3 and M4 (NEVER talk about the horrific BMW IX), making a good car like the M2 is just not enough, something like the M2 CS needs to come along. They’re stuck in the 90’s era of making limited run monsters despite the negativity towards such cars with the rise of EVs. Not unlike Porsche, they’re giving petrolheads what they want, it’s a wonderful show of stubbornness.
Take the New M5 that we will review next. 625BHP, beyond the E63S and RS6 already. Dynamically better perhaps, it doesn’t need to be better... Yet too much is just right, as they love saying in M Town. So this new #M5CS arrives as the new undisputed flagship of M, so let’s see what changes it brings to the fore!
So the normal M5 has 600 BHP, rwd mode, excellent comfort and dynamics. Great! Then the Comp, 625 BHP, lower more aggressive suspension set up, faster still. Even better. And now the new limited run CS. It is limited to one year of production. It’s more powerful, the most powerful M car in fact, at 635BHP and 750nm. 0-60 is even lower than the comp at 3.0, which i’m certain is conservative. And 0-200 is just 10.4 seconds. Though, it only seats four, with individual seats in the rear!
The rest comes in the form of design and weight saving. You’ll note the new Gold Bronze colour appointment. This is used on the grille, the side badges, the boot lid and as an optional finish on the unique wheels. There are three unique finishes available too, brands hatch grey in metallic or frozen, and a new frozen deep green.
The coolest bit, is the motorsport inspired yellow lights on the L shaped headlamps. This activates in either low or high beam, or when unlocking the car, otherwise remaining white. Exhaust tips have a unique look too.
The bonnet is all new, made of CFRP, and has air vents with exposed carbon fibre. Carbon front splitter and mirror caps come from the M8, and the rear spoiler and diffuser are also carbon. The intake silencer and engine cover are also carbon, and we have a lot of sound insulation and other elements removed so all of this contributes to a reduction of 70kg vs the standard car!
The suspension is shared with the new Competition, meaning new dampers from the M8, but retuned and honed to account for the lighter car. It also comes standard on race space Pirelli p zero corsa tyres, and with carbon ceramics too.
Inside, 4 individual bucket seats. Detailed in mugello red and the Nurburgring logo on the headrest.
Today we check out all of the above and more:

Buying a Future Classic: the Best BMW M car!! + Buying Advice
My new M car is here! And it’s going to be a future M Classic in my opinion. Made possible by Berry #BMW and especially Charles and Dean! They are my car finance brokers, and they got me an amazing quote on the CS that made it a no-brainer for me. I’ve asked them to take care of my viewers too, so visit the link below or call up and ask for Mike, who is dealing with all RBR viewers especially:
Charles & Dean - https://www.charlesanddean.com/rbr
As mentioned in the video, the M5 CS is a video coming very soon to RBR right after the next one, the M5 Competition LCI. The CS range, or clubsport, is a rare strategy these days with performance houses. Most are too scared to do limited number run-out performance cars for a tiny percentage of passionate customers, due to emission targets and anti-combustion sentiments in Europe. Why do you think you’ve seen no final C63, or an abundance of Audi Sport Special editions? But #BMWM, still serve the wishes of the few. They’re doubling down on the CS range, giving the M3 more configurations than it’s ever had, even a touring and a manual. I really got the M bug when I did the M town spot, which by the way a huge thank you to all of you for making a huge success! Link of that video below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qosgdHKreNM
To compound matters, over Christmas I was continually influenced by RBR friend Chris Harris, and his praise publicly and privately re his lovely M2 competition. So as us petrol heads do, my brain started thinking up reasons why I need an M2 in my life... It’s a car I’ve always insisted is my favourite compact performance car, and now I’m going to put my money where my mouth is. But today’s video isn’t simply a collection, I’ll also be giving you an insight into how and who I finance my cars with, along with my methodology on buying smarter, so you don’t lose big money.
So we begin by heading over to the new site of BMW Berry in Croydon, for a quick click and collect delivery before I bring the car back here to go over why I bought it, how I financed it, the spec, the first mods, and finally the first little drive! Today I show you:

Audi RSQ8 Review - The Urus killing Super SUV!
Hey guys and welcome back to RBR! And to the Spearhead of the #AudiSport RS family: the RSQ8. It’s deemed by Audi as the sportiest Q, and it undoubtedly is, with 600BHP & 800NM it’s a veritable Hulk from #Audi, a car that gives Lambo Urus owners nightmares due to the internal similarities and it should, as it’s the current king of the Nurburgring as far as SUVs go.
But it is a car that confuses the rest of us as to why it exists. A niche within a niche when the RS6 exists and the RSQ3 is so good. So let’s explore today what makes the RSQ8 tick!
Up until now the sportiest RS Q car has been the RSQ3. We had huge fun in the recent one, with it’s sweet sounding cylinder engine and looks way above class matching the RSQ8 today. On the other side of the spectrum, the most desirable RS has to be the RS6. 592BHP, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and the sexiest sport estate body ever designed. It fits in most of our ideal garages...
This RSQ8, seeks to meld both of these worlds into what Audi Sport are calling their spearhead. Heavy car at 2.4 tonnes. So let’s see what they have done to make the normal Q8 an Audi Sport member with a full look at the interiors of this V8 twin turbo 600BHP tank!
We must also explore how it weighs up against the plethora of Rivals from inside VAQ group, like the Urus and Cayenne Turbo, RS6, SQ8 and the monster outs GLE63S from AMG! So today we explore:
- The New RSQ3
- The New RSQ8
- Engine
- Suspension
- 48 volt system
- Quattro Sport differential
- Ceramic Brakes
- External Rivals
- Exterior Design
- Interior review
- Exhaust sound

BMW M8 Competition Review! Why the Most Powerful M is better than the M5!
Mr AMG vs The Mayor of #BMWM Town! Welcome back to RBR and first a huge thanks to Piloti for sponsoring us after years of me wearing their shoes on the channel for no reason but passion!! Check out the newly launched Legacy S Pagani and Shift shoes below, and I got you an additional 15% off your order if you use our code 'RBR15' !!
Piloti.com - http://rbr.deals/piloti (use code RBR15!)
The most powerful car from BMW M, the new #BMW M8 Competition. It’s a 625BHP V8 monster, with both X Drive four wheel drive and a 2wd drift mode. Arguably the best looking GT Sports Cars on the market, today you get the full review and comparison to the previous M6, and the inevitable comparison to it’s own internal rival, the epic M5 Competiton. So let’s have some fun in the New #M8 Comp!
We have history this car and I. We had some fun drag races on and off camera against my GT63S, and so I already have respect of it’s prowess from the off. That’s only grown since driving it. So over a year ago, we explored the New 8 Series via the brilliant diesel version. And during that review I shared a bit of history on the 8 that I’d I think is relevant to today too, so we will go from the original 6, take a look at the E31 M8 that never happened, then check the modern M6 cars too.
The new M8 takes a different approach to the old M6 cars. Once again, the 8 is aimed further up market. BMW call it a Sports Car, not a GT, and its dimensions are thus different. It’s shorter than the m6, lower in height, and wider. All indicators of this being a different type of model Most crucially, M-Xdrive, all wheel drive which is rear biased, with a fully switchable rear wheel drive mode, by itself makes the M6 a distant memory!
This links to the Hot V set up V8 twin turbo, with 625 BHP and a staggering 3.2 0-60 from this sports GT! Internally, it’s a different game too. The car has carbon core, a mix of steel, aluminium, a carbon fibre reinforced plastic. It makes it lighter than your typical super GTs, and helps with dynamics and rigidity.
M also used learning from the M8 GTE car, that then influenced the final car’s configuration. For example the engine cooling in particular has been bolstered for specific track usage scenarios like extreme lateral and longitudinal acceleration.
Suspension is of course M specific, with M forged links, anti rolls bars, sheer panels, increased camber on the front. It’s thus better in dynamic situations, but also better suited for luxury driving as we’ll see later. Oddly, no rear wheel steer, M wanted a more natural feel they said.
But will all these changes give it enough to topple the brilliant M5 Comp? Today we explore:
- Origins of the 8 Series
- E31 8 Series
- E31 M8 - the car that never was
- E31 850i
- E63 M6 coupe
- F12 M6 Coupe
- BMW M8 Concept
- New M8 Competition Coupé
- M8 GTE racing Car
- V8 Engine and internals
- BMW M specific suspension and changes
- Exterior design vs standard 8 Series
- Interior review
- M8 Exhaust sound

AMG's GT R Roadster Makes NO Sense - But does it need to?
Thanks to Keeps for sponsoring this video! Head to https://keeps.com/removebeforerace to learn more and get 50% off your first order of hair loss treatment.
Why does the GT R Roadster exist? The GT R is a Track focused version of the AMG GT family main 2 door coupé: a series of cars built to battle the likes of the Porsche 911 Carrera series. The R takes it's inspiration from the #MercedesAMG GT3 car, sans natural engine, it has active aero, 9 stage traction control, wider body and track, rear wheel steer and a whole host of stiffening and rigidity measures including the use of light materials. All to create a car that could rival a Porsche GT3.
The GT R Pro barely made any sense, adding some more rigidity, aero and little else, while removing much of the GTR's daily charm. While the GT Black Series #supercar truly sits alone as a 730BHP monster car.
So why take a dynamic car where the Nth's and 10'ths matter so much, and dumb it down by making it heavier and less dynamic? It can be perhaps forgiven as it's a limited 750 unit car, but still, things don't bode well for #AMG's latest roadster: unless you look at the past, where it joins other limited edition AMG track roadsters too! Today we explore:
- The AMG GT Family - GT, GTS, GTC, GT R, GT R Pro, GT Black Series
- Where does the GT Roadster fit?
- Internals of GTR Roadster
- AMG Track Drop Tops of past - CLK DTM cabriolet, CLK GTR Roadster
- The AMG GT baby pram

2021 BMW M440i Review: The Good, the Grille and the Ugly!
The New #BMWM M440i! There’s no stopping the BMW beaver face trend. Today we look at it in perhaps it’s more provocative form, in the new 4 series G22 coupe!
The engine is the brilliant B58 inline six turbo: 374BHP, 500NM and 0-60 in a sharp 4.5 seconds, linked to the 8 speed. So exactly the same as the 340i? Not quite, the 4 has a 48V electrical system and a small electric motor as is the trend these days, via a starter motor-generator and battery it gives an additional 11bhp boost.
In dimensions, too, the new model shifts further away from both the model it replaces and the 3er. It’s 13cm longer, 3cm wider and ever so slightly taller. Rear wider track than 3 series too. Unlike the 340i, it doesn’t have a normal face option for you to choose over the M4: sorry!
Christopher Weil is the head of BMW exterior design, argues that there is a long heritage of vertical shaped grilles on BMW cars that allow for this. He’s right of course, we explored some of these in the M4 video, but they were all either undeniably better proportioned or didn’t have a giant license plate to deal with. Comparing it to the previous 4 Series coupe, there’s a huge difference. Even the final M4 CS looks tame in comparison. Indeed, our M440i comes with the shadow blacked out grille, the face is even more prominent with the chrome version!
#BMW says it has purposely created the new 4 Series to be a more distinct stand-alone model with higher focus on quality, in an attempt to give it some exclusivity. It sounds like well thought out excuses made to disguise a polarising design decision, which it may well be, but only hindsight will tell us who is right! Will the looks be a deal breaker, or has this M440i achieved the goal of being more exclusive? Today we explore:
- “Concept 4” - 4 Series Concept
- Historic vertical grilles
- #4series grille
- New 4 series vs Old 4 Series
- M4 vs M440i
- M440i engine and chassis/internals

New Audi RS6! The Most Overrated Car in the World?
The 592 BHP #Supercar Estate! 25 Years of Audi Sport all leads to this, the modern Quattro icon. It’s the one car even non-car guys know, and its also finally available in the USA!
Today we check out the history, underpinnings of the new car, sound of the #RS6 and then go for the full drive where some questions must be answered: While Undoubtedly the best looking estate in the world, can it stack up to the brutal rivals from AMG and M, or even threat from it’s own little brother RS4?!
The icon of #Audi Sport, it naturally has history that goes back to the first RS named car, which was the Audi 80 RS2. A Porsche tuned car using Audi’s most powerful 5 cylinder engine to produce more power, sports suspension, braking systems, wheels and tyres - it was a car that was tested as doing 0-30 MPH at 1.5 seconds, which was faster than the McLaren F1!
So the legend of RS and the fast Audi Estate began, carrying through to today’s car. We will take a brief look at each one leading to today’s C8, from the first RS6 C5 with cosworth V8, C6 Lambo V10 and C7 predecessor returning to the V8 roots.
As for today’s car, the design is a huge factor. Igorning the front doors, the roof and the luggage compartment cover, all body parts are RS6 specific. The wheel arches, the best part, are flared by 1.6inches!! It also gets A7 Lights! Exclusively within the A6 family.
Performance is big: 592BHP, 800NM and 0-60 3.6 seconds via the TFSI V8 Turbo. It has larger twin scrolls with greater boost pressure giving 40 more BHP than before. All going to a Permanent Quattro all wheel drive with a 40-60 standard split, which can go up to 70-30 or 15-85. It’s also complimented by a Mild hybrid 48v system.
Though, I’m more interested how it fares VS Rivals. It’s heavier by 80KG and slower, and down on power. Undoubtedly the best looking, but can it keep up in other areas? Today we explore:
- History of the RS6 and Audi Sport
- Audi RS2 built with Porsche
- RS6 C5
- RS6 C6
- RS6 C7
- New RS 6 C8
- RS6 Performance and Engine
- Exterior design
- Normal A6 vs RS6 body
- Chassis and RS Suspension - Air or RS sport suspension plus, Rear axle steering
- 48v system
- RS6 VS E63S estate
- RS6 Interior and MMI system

V8 IS BACK!! Cayenne GTS Coupe + Lightweight Exhaust! Full Review
The Cayenne GTS Video is Sponsored by Ridge Wallet: https://www.ridge.com/RBR. Use Code “RBR ” for 10% off your order!
THE V8 IS BACK!! The Up-Sizing engine trend at Porsche thunders on, with the Cayenne returning to the V8 it was always known for. This is all after Dr Walliser of Porsche said, that the upcoming Euro 7 strict emission changes would force out low capacity engines with high output, causing the need to return to bigger displacements! Oh and, no one wanted the V6.
So what did the old car have? It was a 436 BHP twin turbo V6, with a 0-60 of 5 seconds; many journo’s said the front end was lighter so it was a good dynamic improvement, and it even had a smidge more power than the last V8… but they were really fooling themselves.
Now the GTS returns blasting out 454BHP from a hot-Vee set up V8 - lightly stressed version from the Cayenne Turbo. The 0-60 takes 4.2 seconds only, but it’s really the new options that set the car apart.
And our Cayenne Coupe GTS today is the fully loaded version, finished in Carmine Red - it also has the Lightweight package with Spyder wheels, carbon roof, houndstooth interior BUT most importantly the epic new Lightweight exhaust!! Wait till you hear this new dual cantered system in action! It’ll also be on Turbo soon - and it gives the car a completely different exhaust note!
The car gets Dynamic Chassis control, Porsche torque vectoring and everything tuned for GTS specifically: like the Air suspension, which is dropped 20MM in ride height.
How does it fare vs the Cayenne Turbo we drove recently? Does it feel too slow, and what of the rivals?
Today we explore:
- Old Cayenne GTS V6
- New Cayenne GTS V8 Coupe
- Lightweight exhaust sound - Start up and revs
- V8 Engine GTS
- Cayenne GTS internal changes
- Exterior walk around
- Interior
- Lightweight package
- Lightweight exhaust sound
